Hoid is the only obvious one I can think of. Not sure if he's really an "Easter Egg" though.
-
Could that also just not refer to the shards as a whole? Meaning "splintering" or destruction of Adonalsium, which created Odium, Cultivation, etc.

Welcome and stuff Rereads are always fun. That way, you can pick up on the bits of foreshadowing as you go through it again.

Fingers at keys. I pause. Envisioning.

Thanks for mentioning this! I thought that too, but I haven't been here long enough to be fully certain about the rules. Ahem, anyway, On topic, I was pretty torn about how to view the situation. On the one hand, we (should) all hate Sadeas given that this is clearly how Brandon wanted the audience to feel about him. He's slimy, treacherous and downright rude. But he was also a very good foil and villain for our beloved Dalinar. So by eliminating him, I can't help but feel that Brandon played his hand a bit early on it, in a sort of way to pander to the audience. Almost as though he felt a need to give into what the audience wanted to see as a resolution to Sadeas' crimes. He could have *easily* put that in the next book and expanded on it a little bit. There's a sort of awkward and empty finality to Sadeas' death that just seems slightly... rushed? Yes, he had it coming. Yes, he's a bastard and deserved it.. but I'm almost a bit disappointed that he's gone because I liked having somebody to dislike.. (if that makes sense). As for repercussions... I really do not see this boding well for our lovely Adolin. There's no way that he'll get off scott-free. I think that his decision was incredibly rash and foolish. Dalinar will probably be pretty unhappy and I think that Ialai will find a way to discredit everything that the KR are trying to do by pointing out his murder. Something I remember from WoR was when Adolin did his first duel. The one where he basically beat the guy down so unceremoniously? He had a sort of malicious Thrill from the fight, unlike anything described so far. I'm curious to see where this takes his character development and to see if it warps his personality in some twisted, violent way.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...

When you and your friend decide you HAVE to get married and have children, only to name them Kaladin and Tien. -
My apologies, it was a Mist-ake. Your Wit is commendable, I was trying to upvote but hit the wrong button while awkwardly navigating on my phone. Then realized you can't un-vote. I will upvote this post for Ruin-ing your reputation.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
LinkasZelda replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
When your roommate asks you for an opinion on her new dress and your only descriptor is "Yeah it looks really nice! Like a Terriswoman!" but she hasn't read the books so she doesn't understand. Then there's as awkward pause while you fail to find a better way of expressing your appreciation. -
I would have to agree with this assertion also. There's a part where Kaladin mentions how he hates his name for sounding so similar to a Lighteyes' name. I think that Lirin and Hesina only made a small alteration because of how blasphemous a "true" lighteyes name would be for their Darkeyed son.

When you fiddle with your piercings and wonder if you could have somehow gained Hemalurgic powers. -
I think that's subjective! Lift is obviously more relevant but personality wise, I still prefer Axies. Also the Aimian ability is very very neat. I'm glad it was confirmed that the two Aimians we see are the same! Much joy. Such happy. What Aimian. Wow.

When you text so much about Sanderson-related things that your phone auto corrects normal words into things like "Adonalsium", "Roshar", etc -
But we really didn't get THAT much detail from him. We also didn't get very much action from the Aimians. So hopefully, in an attempt to widen our cultural understanding of Roshar, we get a few more features of him and his ways.

A bit off topic, but anybody like Toku? I'm a pretty big Sentai and Kamen Rider fan as well
-
I agree about Lift. She was pretty irritating at first. But she's actually quite adorable. And how she treats her spren is hilarious. Axies having his own book would be amazing! Hopefully we see that

The Abyss battle system is great. Though I do really like the changes in Graces and Xillia. Thank you! I like it a lot I'm actually getting another one as we speak, haha. This time of Princess Peach.
-
Japanese mostly. But I also speak Russian and French.

No, but he does like his plots nice and twisty. So it wouldn't surprise me if they were all transformed. Then again, I don't think the Listeners who don't want to will all be transformed because they have to do something special in order to switch forms. Have a sphere, and negotiate it with the Stormfather.

Welcome! I also did a lot of language studies in school, as well as fencing haha.

I agree with a post above saying it's a relic from their mother. It might even say that in WoK but I don't remember exactly.

Thank you also for the welcome! That would be Tales of the Abyss. One of my tattoos actually says "Luke" in fonic script. AKA "Light of the sacred flame" in Ancient Ispanian. How about yourself?
