  1. I think that we should have a thread to check facts we are a little unsure about before we edit a page that may or may not be correct. It would help people who 100% sure of their facts get a confirmation from those who know what are right and wrong but dont have the time to create a page or dont know about the pageSorry if a thread like this already exists but I looked around and didn't see anything like it
  2. Doesn't Sly describe herself as a spren that binds things before she remembers she is an oath spren? maybe she doesn't like the shard blades not because of the dishonor but be cause of the separation. Oh that makes me wonder if the shardblades cut through anything by killing the spren holding it together and it doesn't cut through living flesh because it first kills the spren that holds the soul to the body. the eyes are the window to the soul so that could be why they burn out when someone is killed with a shard blade. continuing with the theory that shardblades kill spren then I wonder if there could be more sophisticated use for them.
  3. That makes sense but I dont think he would have to take them at the same time. its probably why Vin was able to destroy ruin when she had Leras' shard, she hadn't been affected by its power enough to have it modify her personally. So maybe Odium couldn't pick up a shard directly opposite of his but if he had gotten multiple ones that have different aspects o them he could get the ones that are more against his nature because the closer he gets to what Adonalsium was the more control he would have over his actions, the same could apply to Sazed.
  4. Sazed took two shards when they weren't owned, unless he absorbed there power simultaneously he was holding one shard and then received another. the reason some other shard holder didn't come and snatch up Preservation's power is because they aren't omnipresent or omniscient a shardholder would first have to know that he was dead and then travel to Scadrial to get his power and I'm not sure on the exact length of time but wasn't it only a few days after Leras died that Vin took his power and then only moments later Sazed took both powers
  5. so me and my dad both read WoK and when he finished he had an idea. he said that somewhere he remembered symbols on the bone armor the Parshendi have and it reminded him of the Dahkor priests, he didn't know about Adonalsium but this got me thinking, the definition of Odium is
  6. The chart is right from what I can tell, feruchemy/clayshan are both power from the user, no power is gained or lost so it is Net 0, Hemalurgy is right to be a loss of energy because the longer that the spike is out of someone it loses power and not all the powers can be taken, allomancy is Net 1 because the power is not taken from the user. Also Returning, Awakining and what ever nightblood is are three separate aspects of BioChroma and can havwe different energy values, remember the shards used to be one single something, just cause sazed became ruin/preservation combined doesn't mean allomancy quit giving power and hemalurgy kept losing power I don't think all shard energy is +1 because ruin doesn't have any power he can give his power has to be taken from others, Saze says in HoA that power has an extraordinarily high cost to him which makes me wonder if he is the only shard that doesn't have free energy or if there are others.
  7. Sodaspren- spren that appear when one opens a bottle of pop, takes form af small bubbles dreamspren- spren that crawl into peoples ears and cause them to dream

    Redshift?

can someone explain what a red shift is and why it would happen (try to explain it to me like I'm 5)
  9. I wont lie if somone offerd me that sunday for free I would eat it
  10. yes but if you burned duralamun the effects of cadmium would cause time to move even slower and the metal would be burned slower because of time being slower, the way i think of it the harder you flare it the longer it would last, so duralimun could potentially cause time to stop
  11. i think it would just make double atium shadows for the inquisitor just making it harder for vin because she knows it can choose any of these but with atium it would have half the options, the smart thing would be burn electrum till the inquisitors out of atium then turn atium on.
  12. I would have to FE just because it can be read alone. I think Hero of Ages was the best but i could read final empire cover to cover multiple times, i couldnt do that with HoA without rereading the rest of the series
  13. a blind man with xray vision
  14. I would like to announce that this same blizzard left 1/10 of an inch of snow on my lawn this morning.
  15. so what if a mistborn got in a space ship and burned cadmium and duraluminum at the same time causing time to stop indeffinantlly, then when the ship got to a diffrent plannet he burned alluminum to get rid of the time stop. do you think it could work?
  16. 357 "All Sadeas needs to do is find imaginary 'evidence' linking us to an attempt to kill the king, and he'll be able be able to turn Elhokar against us" be able should be in there only once.
  17. this actually makes a lot of sense, allomancy existed before the assencion but not as powerfull because preservation had put a bit of himself into humanity, the lord ruler gave out the lerasium during his assencion and humanity had more of preservation in them. I wonder what would happen if someone who was allready a post-assencion mistborn burned lerasium, would they become a more powerful allomancer or would they get a higher level of power? (like being able to burn the mists like vin or somthing else similar)
  18. and if you do get it tell us.
  19. I was at my cousins wedding and my aunt told me about a book called Mistborn that had just come out I intened to go and read it but it slipped my mind. I kept hearing about it from random places like peoples book reports in my english class, my Dad ended up getting FE for Christmas, I started it a when he was done and got only 30 pages and stoped. that summer I was bored on day and picked it back up read it cover to cover and LOVED it, I had to wait for my dad to get WoA (sucked cause he waited for paperback) read that but not as fast and then had to wait for school to start because the city library had a 5month waiting list, got it from the school library and LOVED it also. Read Warbreaker on the 7 hour car ride to scout camp and read Elantris just 2 months ago. and obviouslly I've read Wok. convinced my parents to the midnight signing at BYU but not to stay to get it personalized so I need to get that personalized along with my others.
  20. yes but he wanted to limit thier atium use so that if ruin got free he would still not have all his power. But he wouldnt care if it got ruined by thier stomache acid because it makes a lower total amount.
  21. Maybe you could try to convince Brandon to give you an ARC so you can read it before you leave.
  22. Ok I'm going to be stuborn and defend my point even though I'm starting to think I am wrong but if Jasnah was right about the Parshmen/Parshendi being the voidbringers then they could in theory constantly be holding stormlight because Szeth says in the prolouge that the Human body is to pourus a container to hold StormLight for long but that the voidbringers were able to hold it perfectly.
  23. SWEET
  24. Near the end of the book when Dalinar was abandoned by Sadeas and he's fighting for his life against the Parshendi there is that Parshendi in shardplate that comes to fight him after a bunch of time has passed. Dalinar wondered why it had waited so long and assumed it was leting the regular soliders a chance to get his blade and only came because he was running away. I had a different idea though. A Shardblade takes ten heartbeats to appear so if someone summoned their blade after running a mile it would be faster than summoning it after waking from a nap because their heart is beating faster. this made me wonder if instead of having the heart rate of a regular person do the Parshendi have extremelly low heart rates and if so do you think that there could be a way to use that against them?
  25. Ok that makes more sense. so when he said that there were two metals no one knew of he meant unalloyed ones and was talking about Chromium and Cadmium which each had an alloy? Is that right?
