  1. Nope. But you're on the right track. No, even though they have the best names.
  2. Alright then... Tried to kill a whitespine and died in the process.
  3. Shashara and the Battle of Twilight Falls?
  4. I'm not sure I see your point. Could you rephrase that?
  5. If he was following his honor out of fear, I doubt that Nalan would have been so interested in him.
  6. The Unmade, at least, have the ability to directly influence people without them choosing (Nergaoul has the Thrill, for example). Most of them are apparently mindless, but if Yelig-Nar is a sentient one, it's conceivable that he or Odium could have done it.
  7. The theory I consider most credible is that Shardplate is composed of a suit of armor imbued with lesser spren. That's why it's so heavy. Syl wouldn't dislike Plate, because the spren involved aren't dead. They weren't fully bonded to a Radiant, so they never died.
  8. 7560-J... Storms, but that one is funny.
  9. http://kevinunderhill.typepad.com/Documents/Opinions/Bradshaw_v_Unity_Marine.pdf ("Both attorneys have obviously entered into a secret pact . . . to draft their pleadings entirely in crayon on the back sides of gravy-stained paper place mats, in the hope that the Court would be so charmed by their child-like efforts that their utter dearth of legal authorities in their briefing would go unnoticed." I got it from this, which has a lot more: http://kevinunderhill.typepad.com/lowering_the_bar/case-law-hall-of-fame.html
  10. Make your kid swear the Windrunner oaths and tell them that if they break the oaths, very bad things will happen. Problem solved. If you do it right, when they break the oaths (you know it'll happen at least once) they'll blame all of their bad luck on their breaking the oaths. Then they'll be convinced for life. Just remember: Do not say that they will lose their powers if they break the oaths. If you do, you risk them breaking the oaths, keeping the powers, and realizing that there aren't any actual consequences to breaking the oaths. You'll never be able to get them under control again.
  11. There's a theory that Yelig-Nar is following Szeth, which is why he hears the screams. If that's true, Syl might have noticed a large amount of Odium's Investiture. Personally, I'm inclined to think that Odium was following Szeth around. Maybe in order to keep him going and help him kill the Kholins, or maybe just because of Szeth's considerable hatred. It's possible that Odium's influence also was behind Szeth not wanting to believe that the Radiants were back.
  12. It might be, but on the other hand it might also be for something that just changed everything (whether or not it was positive).
  13. Or it could have been done by later people. You know, like how BC and AD were created. Maybe the Recreance was the event that the calendar is based around.
  14. That WoB is just saying that it's possible to obtain similar powers even with different Shards. The specific magic systems are connected to the Shards. Perhaps other Shards could create the same magic systems, but it doesn't seem like any other Shard has replicated Surgebinding and the Surges.
  15. Hoid? Is there some Shard that's held by a child?
  16. The supposed oblivion does not appear to be one of his major motives. He's following the whole Truthless thing out of his own sense of honor, not fear of oblivion. Certainly threats would be an influence, but not as much as Kaladin.
  17. The koloss from the newspaper in AoL? Ironeyes sightings? The Faceless Immortals?
  18. Surgebinding is a specific type of Investiture connected to Honor and Cultivation. Nightblood was Invested with Breath, which is Cultivation's Investiture. It's more likely that Endowment's Investiture is simply having a similar effect to Division, like how Yolish Investiture is similar to Lightweaving.
  19. I was going to say Gavilar Kholin, (the older brother of a major character), but if it's Scadrial...
  20. Szeth is another good example, and probably would have been better than Dalinar, but there's no outside force compelling him to follow his honor. Honor's influence is definitely present, but not to the same extent as with Kaladin.
  21. Elsecaller, because think of the things you could learn about the Cosmere while in the Cognitive Realm. Plus, you get Soulcasting.
  22. Why thank you.
