  1. I'm going to be a literalist and say Hoid's flute.
  2. They could Soulcast it, if they had an example to go off of. I'm sure that Shadesmar connects to some world with chocolate (or similar substances), and Elsecalling (or just portalhopping) allows Rosharans to access said other worlds and obtain chocolate. Elsecallers also conveniently have the ability to Soulcast. Obviously, this proves that Jasnah will get rich by introducing chocolate to Roshar.
  3. That explains why I would not have heard about it.
  4. I've read the first two Long Earth books. I saw a mention of The Long Mars somewhere, but I wasn't sure if it was a sequel or just someone confused about the title. Thanks for confirming that.
  5. I find it plausible that he would view a continuous series of Pushes as one Push.
  6. That's what I was thinking, but if it's an object... Vin's earring? Was that carried a long distance? Dalinar's Blade? You could make the case that it was carried a long distance (i. e. from the Tower to the warcamps) in order to save lives.
  7. He might have been pushing on the rail spikes, though. That would be different pieces of metal.
  8. But the fact that the killer used a knife points to a non-Shardbearer. Possibly an assassin, one who wouldn't expect to be in any sort of position to retrieve the Blade later.
  9. Marsh, since he took out Vin's earring and saved everyone on Scadrial?
  10. Especially since Shardblades are unique, so anyone who saw the hypothetical assassin (and knew what Oathbringer looked like) would know he had murdered Sadeas.
  11. Lerasium is solid Investiture, but it's a lot of Investiture, and it's specifically designed to go into your sDNA and change things. Other metal reserves don't do the same.
  12. I think that it would store Allomantic resources, not Allomantic skill. Compounding Nicrosil would give vast metal reserves without having to eat so much metal. Allomantic skill is hardwired into the spiritweb, and lerasium, hemalurgy, etc., actually alter the sDNA.
  13. Why would he need to recover Dalinar's Blade without anyone noticing? Surely people would find it on the terrace, right? Bit hard to miss a six-foot-long magic sword worth entire kingdoms sticking out of the floor.
  14. The obvious choice is Hoid. I'll get that out of the way so the real guessing can start.
  15. Stormlight enhances strength, and Honor's Investiture has a lot to do with bonds.
  16. That's a really good question. I personally adhere to the theory that Shardplate is composed of lesser spren bonded to armor, so it dissolves when the lesser spren lose their attachment to the disconnected piece. I think that the Hemalurgic power would not dissolve, since you're using Shardic Investiture to replace it. Investiture overall is conserved, it's just taken from the Shards and moved into people. I wonder if similar methods might be used to destroy or severely weaken a Shard. Maybe one could even forcibly shift holders without killing the previous one.
  17. True. Still, the Cognitive aspect can apparently entirely recreate the Spiritual, which means a lot. Maybe Regrowth could even repair Hemalurgic damage, if it can do this much. Free powers for everyone!
  18. There's actually another book called Skybreaker, which came out before WoK. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skybreaker
  19. Interesting. The Cognitive aspect of a person is apparently more important than the Spiritual aspect. I didn't expect that.
  20. Well, if it was swimming out of a pond that makes sense. I generally get annoyed about the obsession the Internet has with Cthulhu (seriously, why Cthulhu and not, say Nyarlathotep? Or Yog-Sothoth?), but Cthulhu's the only one likely to be found rising from the deeps.
