  1. Look, our group may be filled with gullible, friendly, friendship-minded ponies, but really... *promptly wanders off in search of said cookies*
  2. You like Denna? I can't stand her...
  3. First, Kobald King, you have my condolences also on the loss of your cat. It's amazing just how much those furballs get all tangled in your heartstrings. When my parents dog died, I cried from two states away and not having lived with their dog since right out of college (about 12 years by that point). I know these words don't help fill the void, but know that we do understand and feel your pain, if only virtually. Twilyght, that's terrible! First, getting pulled over is always nerve racking, but to be treated that way, etc., and the whole thing with the email.... *shakes head * I hope a better mail arrangement can be found!
  4. Ooo, thanks for all the juicy tidbits! I will definitely fill him in on the title and agree with your reasoning about Weaver.
  5. Same here! I don't stalk many author's webpages, so don't know the latest. Do you know when he's aiming to have the third installment released?
  6. ChaseGiant, just to be safe, you may want to put your first comment inside a spoiler. It would look like this but without the asterisks: [spoiler*] text [/spoiler*]. And now, to answer your question. I'm also looking forward to book 3 and will probably reread (i.e. re-listen) to them both right before it comes out.
  7. Are you leaving for good?!?! Noooo..........
  8. To self: This baron guy has to have an alt-pony-self.
  9. You all should read or watch a couple things. 1) A Wrinkle in Time 2) Watch a little Stargate SG-1 if you have some time, particularly episodes related to the Ancients. 3) Flatland (mandatory reading in my math major Geometry class in college).
  10. To answer your question (though refining thoughts from others are much welcome!):
  11. "Hmmm... If I haven't met you before, you at least remind me very much of someone. Pleasure, I'm sure! Friends?!" * *See signature below.
  12. Yo, Herd! Anyone else going to the Par-tay over at the Raven Throne?
  13. "It's a pleasure to meet you all," Lady Traceria said with a slightly manic grin. "I wouldn't worry too much about Pinkie Pie. We tied her up after the decoration cannon. She likes that sort of thing." As an afterthought she added, "I'll have to poll my fellow Herd members regarding their attendance."
  14. The delegation from the Herd has arrived.
  15. My husband's an attorney, and he definitely wouldn't be able to have a beard for exactly this reason. Every time he'd go before a judge, he'd be judged on his appearance. I remember him telling me about one judge that is anti-certain color shirts, ties and suits. I forget the judge's preferred color combo, but a sports announcer (with their wacky tie/shirt combos) would get a scolding from that guy. IF my husband ever grew a beard, he'd have to take sufficient time off to get it grown in properly first so as not to appear scraggly before clients, other attorneys and judges.
  16. I definitely watched the show and the (supposedly terrible) movie on repeat as a kid. (It's probably too nostalgic for me to dislike it even if I were to watch it now.) I browsed through some website recently that had pictures and release dates of all the pony toys, and figured out which ones I had for the most part. I also had the house, maxal, and the castle, the stable and the nursery. I also used to pretend to be a sea pony with my friend when we swam in her pool. Totally picked up a a Doctor Whooves figurine for my hubby's stocking this year! He's the reason we got into the show. He was first fascinated with bronies themselves, then the collectible card game (really fun), then the show.
  17. See, while I didn't like it as much as Blood Song, I thought it a fine middle-of-the-trilogy book. What I really want to know is thoughts on the end. When my husband finished the audiobook, which was after I did, he made a comment that made me reply, "Wait. Did we read [listen] to the same book? That's not how I interpreted the final scene."
  18. Agreed! My husband tends to have a much better way with words than I do, and he said it's like the modern successor to 2001: A Space Odyssey. We were like giddy children when the credits started to role. Soooo good.
  19. Shippuden. My brother was getting imports with good subtitles for awhile, but he kind of slacked off and now we're both behind. Edit to add: Ryan, sorry for the confusion...should have specified!
  20. You know you and your significant other are Sanderfans when you're watching an episode of Legend of Korra and your SO walks in and you say in explanation: "He [Tenzin] is a windrunner...kind of." (This had to have been mentioned already, but hey! I just watched the first season for the first time over the weekend! )
  21. To piggy back on those two spectacular posts by Twilight and Quiver, I feel like 17S is rather like MLP: FiM in that people here are, as Quiver mentioned, smart, respectful and even-headed. The show and the MLP fandom generally have a much friendlier tone to them than other shows and fandoms, and this forum and site do also. I've been a part of another forum for a long time but never really post there because I know as soon as I type something, someone is going to post a biting, sarcastic and scathing comment, even if it's only because I used a verb incorrectly. On this site, you just don't get that except on very rare occassion, and I mean very rare.
  22. Tell me some of you have seen it! Because if you haven't, make some plans! It's a long one, so dehydrate yourself beforehand so you won't have to use the restroom halfway through. However, it's so worth it.
  23. I understand the nostalgia of it. I used to watch Ghostbusters, Pound Puppies, Muppet Babies, Mighty Mouse, Garfield & Friends, the Smurfs, Winnie the Pooh, and so much more, which were on Saturday mornings in the 80's. (I know that dates me.) Now they're going the way of after school specials... *sniffle *
  24. Cheesy joke or not, it's an awesome picture. Now, all I know about football was learned from being clueless and asking my husband questions, but I've learned enough to know that horn to helmet contact has to be some kind of foal, I mean foul.
  25. Maybe I should take some time to catch up. I forget where I was, somewhere in the 80's (subtitled version).
