It would be absolutely unpardonable for us to still be lacking a canon Parshendi image by Stones Unhallowed. Unpardonable, I say!

Hey baby... it's a Thrill to meet you. In all seriousness though, I would highly recommend against referencing the Nightwatcher in a pickup line. Accusations of stalking will be made and restraining orders will be filed.

I think it's hilarious that your user title stays the same for both ranks. "She Who Changes" works for both a Forger and a Soulcaster.

Anybody else think Sadeas was a bit... strange?
Kobold King replied to Zerovirus's topic in Stormlight Archive
While I'd love to espouse the idea of Sadeas being replaced by a kandra, I sadly must concur with the idea that Odium or Nergaoul got to him. Sigh... -

Possible Foreshadowings & Red-herrings
Kobold King replied to don_karma_II's topic in Stormlight Archive
Absolutely correct. Rock is Vedelev and Shallash is Baxil. The Herald of the Lightweavers rejects your sexist attitudes and has decided to live as hired muscle for a few decades. @don karma ii: I'm not sure if this is clear or not, but we're absolutely not making fun of your suggestion. The original post is thoughtful and interesting... but we're childish and look for any excuse to start spouting nonsense. -
Possible Foreshadowings & Red-herrings
Kobold King replied to don_karma_II's topic in Stormlight Archive
No, Ym is Jezrien and Lift is Nale. That's an easy mistake to make though. On-topic, I really don't think Dalinar is one of the Heralds. I think the reference is just a bit of flavoring for the scene. -
Favorite kind of spren: The Stormfather. Favorite individual spren: Wynkle. Wynkle, you poor, overworked transformative cognitive entity. Spren I'd love to have on my shoulder: Sylphrena. Windrunner powers would be a pretty cool bonus.

Fair enough. Leave the job of creating true-to-canon works to the fan artists, I suppose. And there are aspects of the covers that I like.

Ha, thanks. I think I've heard the term "Twinawesomeness" before, and I love it. If it ever becomes official we will have no choice but to assume Lift wrote the Ars Arcanum.

Adolin's actions at the end of WoR (spoilers)
Kobold King replied to Dain's topic in Stormlight Archive
How about this sentence: Is the use of the word "snapped" coincidental, or is it supposed to remind us of Allomantic Snapping? Not suggesting that Adolin's an Allomancer, of course (though that would be awesome), but it could be relevant to the "broken soul" requirement. -
Like my last post on this board, this isn't really an original post so much as it is a request for clarification. A couple of times on the forum I have seen the term "Fullborn" used to denote... something. This name is either used for a Full Feruchemist or a person with both Mistborn and Full Feruchemist abilities. While I like the term, I am a bit hazy about what exactly it means, and how it originated. Is "Fullborn" an official word, or is simply a piece of fanon that has gained prominence? I would appreciate it if someone could give me a dictionary definition.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Kobold King replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
When you don't need the autocorrect because you know precisely how to spell "Taravangian" phonetically. -
I once saw a suggestion that Liss the Assassin could be a Herald, possibly Vedel. Very little evidence to back it up, but potentially something to keep an eye out for, kolo?

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Kobold King replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Or forgetting yourself after reading Warbreaker and thinking the local pastor is your servant. You know, theoretically... -
Oh, sorry. I tend to be quite literal-minded in these matters. I hope it is expanded upon in a later novel though.

The interesting thing about an "RAFO" is that it stands for "read and find out"--implying that we will be treated to an explanation someday. The question that intrigues me the most right now is whether we will find out about the details of Demoux's Allomancy in the Stormlight Archive or in a sequel to AoL. It would be wonderful if SA turned into a sort of mega-crossover event that explains how different magic systems come together and interact, but given Brandon Sanderson's insistence that it will remain stand-alone, I do not know how likely this is. I wonder if the continuing adventures of Wax and Wayne will give us some glimpses of Demoux as he resurfaces and joins the Seventeenth Shard. Personally, I'm not really sure what to think about this specific matter. While atium isn't easy to access at the moment, it's probably safe to say that Demoux "knows a guy" who could get him some. It is also possible that the Final Ascension changed the way Seers work, so that now he's either a Slider or a Pulser. Another possibility is that Demoux on Roshar utilizes a version of Allomancy we've never before seen. I believe we have a WoB that it is possible to use one form of Investiture on an alien planet provided you perform a certain amount of "jury-rigging". Maybe Demoux can use Stormlight to power his Allomancy? If so, do the spheres fuel Seer powers, full Mistborn powers, or do they allow him to do something completely unprecedented? As usual my post above manages to be several paragraphs long without stating anything fresh, thoughtful, or definitive, but hopefully I have conveyed the idea of there being a very large number of possibilities where Demoux is concerned. All in all, what I hope for the most is the chance to do exactly what the Author has told us to do... "read and find out."

That koloss does look pretty awesome. By the way, is "badchull" what you typed, or has the swear filter struck again?

I think the cover artists can be forgiven for referring to TLR as evil. While he arguably had redeeming qualities (like all great villains), he had an extremely antagonistic role in the first book. That said, I'm inclined to agree with you about the artwork, even though I'm not nearly artistic enough to do anything better. Vin looks way too young. But hey, at least she isn't drawn in some kind of scanty costume like a lot of modern fantasy heroines.

Wow. The skaa had it pretty good after all... Honestly, it's surprising that the Kandra didn't just kill all the humans and take over Scadrial.

I'm seesawing back in forth from "Gee, what an interesting idea, let's explore it further" and "ARGH! BRAIN BLEACH! BRAIN BLEACH!" I guess it's entirely possible. The Final Empire was a corrupted place, and from what we've seen sexual perversion ran rampant. Personally though, I think it was generally more likely for a nobleman to keep skaa women than for them to manage a kandra brothel. As for the idea of half-kandra... I think if it were possible at all, it would have to be deliberate and carefully arranged. A kandra in a position like you've described should be perfectly capable of simply not forming the correct reproductive anatomy. However, if they were directly ordered to form the proper organs and bear a child... Zerovirus, would you mind sharing some of that bleach?

When exactly did Szeth speak the Second Ideal? I confess I must have missed that part.
-
Good point, although one of the WoR epigraphs states that the common people of the Desolation era saw little difference between the Releasers and the Voidbringers. I like "I will destroy evil" or "I will destroy the enemies of humanity" as a potential oath. It has a combat-oriented feel, and it still has the potential to link Adolin with their order. I'm also wondering if Szeth could become a Dustbringer, if he recieves the right pushing from a certain sword. It could be argued that Szeth is more "Brave/Obedient" than he is "Just/Confident".

Epigraph to Chapter 4, Part 1: “I’m dying, aren’t I? Healer, why do you take my blood? Who is that beside you, with his head of lines? I can see a distant sun, dark and cold, shining in a black sky.” Granted, the text does not explicitly state that this is a Cryptic. I believe that the description is specific enough for this to be a logical assumption, however.
