  1. The TARDIS is an extremely advanced time machine. While it looks like a blue phone box on the outside, it is bigger on the inside--a huge and majestic starship. Although the Doctor isn't very good at flying it, it can travel anywhere in time and space. Anywhere in history, or any planet in the universe. Best of all, it's not just a machine--it's a living thing which can make its own decisions on where it will take the Doctor and his companions. Storms I love this show.
  2. It is a fantastic show! Many actors have played the Doctor since the show began in 1963. There have been eleven primary actors to play the Doctor, with Peter Capaldi set to play the Twelfth Doctor in August. (The number I gave isn't precisely accurate, but last year things got a little... wibbly-wobbly with the official count. ) The show is bizarre and complicated and exciting and dramatic, and moreover it is wonderful. I would definitely recommend watching it. Start with the first episode of the revived series, "Rose". It gives a fantastic opening to the concept and the characters, and is available on Netflix and Amazon. Definitely give it a try if you can!
  3. Yep, it's still running! Season 8 airs this August. Starring Peter Capaldi as the Doctor! The Doctor's method of traveling is the TARDIS, which stands for Time and Relative Dimensions in Space. It is the single most awesome vehicle ever devised in the world of fiction. EDIT: By the way, do you remember anything about the episodes you watched? When was it?
  4. Yep! It's a reference to Doctor Who, a British television show about an alien time traveler who roams the universe in an old police box. Here's the relevant video (because I have no idea how to post YouTube videos on forum posts): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vY_Ry8J_jdw It just happens to be my favorite science fiction program.
  5. It's... wibbly-wobbly, factiony-wactiony.
  6. The Wafflesworn say "go with the pie-eating contest."
  7. I feel like I shouldn't upvote narcissistic puns, since it only encourages them. Yet... I just can't help myself.
  8. You'd actually click a link that said "punishment waffles"? You are a braver person than most.
  9. The first sight of me inspired fear? Awesome.
  10. THESE WORDS ARE BLASPHEMY. CONTINUED BLASPHEMY WILL RESULT IN BEING SERVED PUNISHMENT WAFFLES.
  11. I'll say this much: while MLP isn't my cup of tea in general, it is quite useful in showing one's mood by means of screenshots.
  12. Flame needs fuel and air or else it will be extinguished. It gives light, and warmth, but its presence is transient. Fragile. Being a stick is determination. Stickiness is the act of standing proud and strong against those who would force you into fitting their moulds of proper human-stick interactions. Stickiness is rebellion and defiance, yet somehow stability as well. So here are four words that serve as a rebuttal of this little church. Four words which represent why this will fail, extinguished like a flame doused with water. Four words which represent bravery and strength of will, everything this church has placed itself against. I. Am. A. Stick.
  13. He's a character in The Way of Kings. FeatherWriter is his stalker crush a big fan of his.
  14. Wait, what? Don't unleash the Herd upon us!
  15. Wyrn is the supreme head of the Derethi church in Elantris, considered just under Jaddeth himself. Hrathen gets his orders from Wyrn Wulfden the Fourth.

  17. Assimilate: 1. to learn (something) so that it is fully understood and can be used. 2. to cause (a person or group) to become part of a different society, country, etc. 3. to adopt the ways of another culture : to fully become part of a different society, country, etc. I got this definition from the Merriam Webster website. If you need any more help on the subject, I suggest you consult these fine gentlemen.
  18. Did... did FeatherWriter just make a pun?
  19. Ha! The Way of Kings ensnares another victim into the world of the 17th Shard. Have you read any of Brandon Sanderson's other books yet?
  20. "Is there life after death?" "RAFO."
  21. I really can't express how much I love this Epic concept.
  22. "I am a stick" is a deep, unknowable thought. Duh.
  23. If I might make a Chaotic suggestion? Nail Quiver to the palace wall. Place a soothing tapestry over his struggling, screaming form. Enchant him so that he needs no food or air or water, and is capable of screaming endlessly for years. Allow him to become a symbol of all who would defy the Newcago Court, or defect from its icy ranks. Betrayal is magic.
  24. Name of the Doctor spoilers:
