I can understand that. Look at something relatively tame like kissing--a lot of writers throw it around recklessly, because they either like writing detailed passages about kissing or because they figure their readers like detailed passages about kissing. It often feels shoehorned in, or given more attention in the writing than it should. (Here's looking at you, Hunger Games.) Contrast that to Funtimes or Shiny Sparkle, though. There have been some passionate kisses in the RP, beginning with Funtimes smooching Nathan after the street fight. That felt satisfying to read about, because it told us something about the characters. It told us what kind of assertiveness Funtimes was attracted to, it told us without a doubt what kind of relationship Funtimes was interested in having with Nathan, and it told us that Nathan was the kind of guy to play with whatever deck he's given with little complaint. In the same ven, Funtimes' kiss on Page 31 tells us about Funtimes' mental state. It is more forceful, almost an act of marking her territory, showing us that she feels threatened. The kisses aren't just there because Twi likes imagining Funtimes and Nathan snogging, or because she thinks we'll like her posts better if they've got sensual contact in them. They're there because they tell us what's in the characters' heads.

I've read that one. It's never erotic to the point of being pornographic, but there is some nudity in there. Not just "she changed clothes" or "she took a shower" nudity like in the RP. Rothfuss is a touch more descriptive in a few places. Also, the phrase "she smelled like sex" appears in the book. Make of that what you will.

The Borg? Pffft. What a bunch of amateurs.

I thought I was the only one whose appreciation Quota was stifling today. Depending on what you mean by "mild," this RP might actually be worse.

I find it... comforting and a bit awesome that Brandon's friends are just as crazy as we are.

I am obligated to say my brain, but only because my brain decides what I post here. What is your favorite historical monument or relic? -

I'd like to embrace my inner hippie and say kale chips... but I'm going to have to be honest and say Cheetos. What is your favorite cartoon? -
She could keep her hand in her pocket, to keep the RP at a child-friendly content rating. I think the only potential problem with this setting is that the Doctor's not the kind of person who'll take the mysteries of the Cosmere lightly. The second he lands on Roshar and figures out there's magic going on, you can bet he'll be tracking down all the secrets of Hoid, the Shards, and Adonalsium itself before long. In short, he'd be on the trail of mysteries we won't know the resolutions to for another two decades, tops.

Play-by-post role playing games. Especially the Reckoners RPG. What's your favorite fictional interpretation of a mythological figure? -
Forgive me for asking for clarification, but I'm confused. Have they changed their minds and they're buying you a pug again? Either way... I don't know them, but I suspect you should go into this with the assumption that they'll find out eventually. If you hide the GoFundMePage entirely, they'll still want to know where you got the money, and even if you covered your tracks perfectly they could still find it somehow. They might be a lot angrier if they think you were purposefully trying to deceive them then if you simply did it without consulting them. Like I said, I don't know them or your situation as well as you do. Maybe I'm giving you a big pile of chull droppings disguised as advice. But I suspect you shouldn't devote too much energy into burying your deeds out of their sight.

I just figured out I can save the web tool I use for creating MLP-style ponies directly onto my computer. That way I can use it even when I don't have Internet connection, and I won't be bogged down with high-quality ads that make the tool wholly unusable. -

The stylized 'S' of the Faithful. Narrowly beating out Soulcasters. My mother's squashed tomato soup, though I haven't had it in a while. (It's a liquid tomato soup... with squash paste in it. It's a lot more awesome than it sounds. ) Favorite fictional food? -
Why not do that too? * pointedly casual shrug *

"To Build a Fire," by Jack London. A chilling portrayal of man's helplessness in the face of nature. Favorite author who wrote during the 1800s? -
Who is your LEAST favorite character in the Cosmere?
Kobold King replied to Patar's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Well she was a humanoid crustacean from a wholly alien society. I wouldn't class any of his villains as my least favorite characters solely on their evil, as I do enjoy a good villain. However, I didn't really care for Zane in The Well of Ascension. -
You're a good person. Let's just say I take these things a little harder than you do.

That's the story of human civilization, isn't it? If I heard his name without context, though, I'd assume he had a tracking ability like Chase or Amarok. The name emphasizes tracking, and doesn't immediately bring to mind the ability to witness the entire history of a setting just by standing in it.
