  1. I may need to do some more electoral research before getting fully behind it, but as of now I'd say I was in Weiry's camp with Transferable votes. Isn't that how the Hugos do it, too?
  2. As a general rule no I don't like people leaning overmuch on Cognitive shenanigans as the answer to all questions. But perhaps it's a bit more allowable in the case of Returned, since we've already seen their Divine Breath granting the Cognitive a startling amount of control over the nature of their bodies. That aside, I'd say the WoBs others have cited since your post likely argue against the answer being the one you propose here.
  3. We don't necessarily have "Denth is a descendant of Vo", but we do have confirmation that he has the Royal Locks independent of his being a Returned. So unless there's some other lineage of Royal Locks running around... Source:
  4. This is a good argument for why it's reasonable for any given person not to mind spoilers, but not really an argument for why no one should be allowed to not have to deal with spoilers. If you put things in the tags then all you spoiler hounds out there can simply click the "Show" button and start appreciating the plot better, while others can choose to abstain. No tags means no choice for people who'd prefer not to be spoiled, and so leaves them with the binary of either risking being spoiled just by entering a thread or just not reading the thread at all.
  5. It's the opposite, actually: Wayne creates bubbles where time speeds up inside, Marasi where it slows down. Bubble overlap indeed works how you suggest. They overlap like Venn diagrams do (so your second example would look something like a donut so far as how time was affected) and the overlaps cause multiplicative effects. So two 10x speed bubbles overlapping would create an area of 100x speed. Any other questions about time bubbles?
  6. It's been brought up that a Malatium die was a con exclusive when the first set of dice was released, and so that perhaps it wouldn't do to cheapen both exclusives by re-releasing it.
  7. An interesting parallel, Outis. I could buy it.
  8. Many (including myself) have been assuming at least some kind of "investiture sense" nature for life-sense since WoR Spoilers: Also, you might want to do something in the OP to call out the various Spoilers in it. Also, you are right that non-Nalthians are not drab.
  9. Good observation. I hadn't taken note of the Essences being cut before, but that is worth noting.
  10. To give some context, that question was a follow-up to Satsuoni's.
  11. Plague of sniffles is amusing. A bit of a letdown, though, for those who hear "plague" and think of something a bit more society-threatening.
  12. A nice set of questions. Of partic- *NINJAS ATTACK!!!!! ...What Argent said.
  13. I'll admit this and similar questions are rather frequently asked...
  14. Would you mind posting a spoiler on this thread with a copy of the full transcription? I've found that re-finding WoBs gets a heck of a lot easier when it's on the site itself to Google/search than when it's just in the Doc.
  15. I'm fairly sure there's a definitive "Hoid uses emotional Allomancy on Shallan" quote, but in the meantime to answer the question at hand: Source:
  16. Added a new WoB to the OP; looks like mechallomancy may well be involved. Merger of magic and technology for FTL:
  17. To go back off-topic, it looks like Brandon's decided to stick to the "he used the Well" answer.
  18. Good on Leinton. A high density of interesting questions there. Of particular note, gives some credence to Moogle's old theory. Of course the fight at the end of WoR looks to knock actual Surgebinders at even very-high levels of Investment out of the running, but still. Then: Good to get nailed down, I suppose, due to the conflicting(?) information we've been pulling. Then this: Really wish we had verbatim here, but from the looks of it this does kind of nail down the use of "technomancy" for future-Scadrial's FTL.
  19. The question is whether that would count as "direct influence", I suppose.
  20. Thank you very much for the transcription. If I could make one more request? Would you mind terribly editing your post (or re-posting) with a spoiler that includes everything, not just what look like the highlights right now? For all we know a year from now that one oblique WoB will be the most important thing ever, and better to have it here on the forums, linkable and search-indexed, than hidden away on a Google doc no one looks at because we've already got "the highlights".
  21. Well that's interesting. Assuming that the obviously-magical pool is still obviously-magical, are we then to assume it was sourced at Adonalsium, or that Brandon's answer doesn't preclude "indirect influence" in the form of just leaving some power behind, ala the Well of Ascension?
  22. Found the quote for Iriali having light eyes:
  23. We don't have any word either way, but I would imagine that aging is affected appropriately.
  24. Re: default to darkeyes There may be something else odd going on there (and it's slightly possible I'm grossly misremembering), but aren't all Iriali lighteyed?
