  1. Have his actual article be Miles Dagouter, his official name, but make a redirect from Miles to that.
  2. I can understand why you didn't like the puffy ending. Though, as much as it pains me to see the Final Empire go, I would have been very upset if the world hadn't been healed. That was a promise that was made to me very early, and I wanted to see it fulfilled. That said, having read Alloy, you don't need to worry. It still feels like Scadrial, even without ash and skaa. As for Sazed, well, I think you will really like it.
  3. Come now. Brandon's awesome, but he doesn't have that level of encyclopedic knowledge. He stores stuff in his metalminds (Peter, and his wiki), and doesn't have them on him all the time We had a blast. There will be reports and stuff forthcoming. Now, however, I am exhausted and need sleep.
  4. I've moved this thread out of the ARC discussion and made it a general reaction topic.
  5. Heresy.
  6. I've pinned this topic.
  7. That is not at all a realistic expectation. That's our job as fans to go find this stuff out.

    Occupy Luthadel

This was especially funny when we saw it in the Alloy of Law line, camped in front of the BYU bookstore. Someone brought a joke "Occupy Bookstore" sign, which worried some people enough that campus police showed up.

    Very cute!
  10. I would like to announce that in Mistborn Trivia at the Alloy of Law release, we stumped Peter. To be fair, we had questions in our highest difficulty that Peter definitely could have gotten, but we deliberately chose the most esoteric. (Sorry Peter.) Its on video, too. The question? Where were Valette Renoux's supposed parents from? Points for naming the Dominance--which Peter did get--but no one got the correct city.
  11. Just like, put the answers like I've been doing them so far. That'd be great.
  12. I will try and get the list updated tomorrow. Zas, if you have time you can probably update the questions that we found out last night, but you don't have to.
  13. I posted a topic on this on the Mistborn board. I will move the current topics into the Mistborn board when I get home, but in the mean time just post your Alloy topics in that forum. You don't need to wait on my account. Though, please put a spoiler disclaimer in the topic title. Its a new book, it needs that.
  14. Hey guys. I am typing on my phone because I am still in Utah from the Alloy release, and I won't be back until later tonight at my computer. For those of you who PMed me this weekend about entering the ARC discussion, sorry I couldn't get to you. Please everyone, talk about Alloy of Law in this forum. I will move the ARC discussion topics to here once I get back. I would do it right now, but I can't. Since Alloy is new, please put spoiler tags in topic titles which refer to it. Thank you.
  15. It's actually delayed again. (But even if it wasn't you wouldn't really be able to buy it at release.)
  16. We are all here having a blast. It wasn't too bad sleeping last night, despite the cold.
  17. Don't we have that Chronology article on the wiki?
  18. The metallic lake is actually Ruin. The Well of Ascension has to be Preservation's.
  19. But the recipient of the letter also would have been alive pretty much forever, and so the "end positive, according to my terminology" phrase still doesn't fit. That's a phrase a newbie says, guys. It's not Sazed ever, the author refers to Harmony. Sazed would not refer to himself in the third person.

  21. Unfortunately, it says that with Feruchemy that you "Invest that metal on one day, withdraw the power on another day." So it's clear, in my opinion, that Feruchemical stores are Invested objects. I was talking to Josh, and we came up with the idea that perhaps there are multiple kinds of Investitures: Physical, Cognitive, and Spiritual kinds. Hemalurgic spikes and Shardblades are pretty clearly Spiritual Investitures, so they can't be Pushed. Vin could just Push on the Lord Ruler's bracers after burning the mists, so I don't see a contradiction there. But a Feruchemical store could be multiple types. The ones we saw in the Mistborn trilogy were mostly Physical, and they could be Pushed upon.
  22. I find Preservation's Wings to be incredibly evocative. I love it.
  23. That whole conversation with Wax and Harmony was amazing.
  24. As per the Alloy of Law Ars Arcanum. What is an Investiture? I'm looking for a clear, yet general, definition of what that word means. I think it refers to the process of magic, but it also refers to objects, like metalminds. People that have Hemalurgic spikes are considered Investitures. That one is concerning, because that means Investiture could mean a person, too. Are Allomancers Investitures, or is the process of burning a metal an Investiture instead? I'm thinking the reason that people with Hemalurgic spikes are considered Investitures is because you've Invested a spike with power, and anyone with that Invested object is, themselves, an Investiture. Thoughts? I think we need a definition--and a consensus on one--before we can do more analysis on this concept.
