  1. No, I am still going off the idea that the Investitures are separate, I guess, description be damned. It still feels wrong that the Lord Ruler could store any attribute and use it for age. That does not feel right. If this were true there would not be an upper bound for the Lord Ruler's age trick, and I am fairly certain I heard at Alloy that he wouldn't be able to keep it up forever. Hell, just store weight forever and use that for age. Weight doesn't run out or get harder to store as you get older. So, it is possible this Investiture description is more for the game and not totally canonical.

That's a valid point, though the fact that the RPG doesn't mention how Allomancy is applied with this leads me to think this is not fully accurate. And realize that it may not be.

I disagree on this account. I mean, it's possible, but remember that tin stores senses, and it stores them separately. Each type of Investiture could similarly be stored separately. EDIT: For example, if the Lord Ruler could do this, and exchange different types of Investiture around, he wouldn't have to age at all; he could store any Investiture and get age back. So, if you could store Allomantic effects, he could store Soothing and get Feruchemical age back. And man, if this was a possibility, the Lord Ruler would've used it. No, more likely nicrosil is the universal battery, acting like tin, but for more generalized effects.
  4. That's essentially how it works, yeah. (And hey, my second post added things to the discussion That's allowed by the rules. Also, I'm totally rationalizing.) That's an interesting thought. Yeah, I sort of interpreted the Spiritweb as a spatially-distributed spiritual DNA. Or, your own spiritual overlay, which is defined by spiritual DNA, much like our bodies are governed by regular DNA. But that's all super hypothetical. I would say there's definitely a relation there, though. Right, that was theoretical. I see no reason, though, that if Investiture is "generalized power", that one couldn't store the Allomantic effects in it. That'd of course require for you to be an Allomancer and a Feruchemist, but still, since both are "Investitures" and nicrosil can store Investitures, I'd say this is the best explanation for how the Lord Ruler enhanced his brass burning. After all, the RPG implies that the Lord Ruler wanted to store the Well's power in nicrosilminds. If you can do that, you can sure as hell store some measly Allomancy. It's all generalized power, but you have to be the one to control it, I think. *Shrug* My interest on the subject, frankly, is practically nil at this time. Efficiency or not, Brandon said that the Lord Ruler eventually would've hit a limit of how much age he can actually store--it wouldn't be a big enough multiplier for him Compound back to the age he wanted. So it doesn't really matter at this point whether the Lord Ruler stored age, then stored it into nicrosil, etc. Hmm. It makes sense, I suppose. I'll need to meditate on that.
  5. You ninja'd me. I'll double post (because I can do that.) There's no information how that aluminum could work. I have no freaking clue. Really, the info on chromium and aluminum is exactly what you expect. Storing luck makes you unlucky, and you get your luck later. Aluminum makes you mildly forgetful, emotionally pliable, and they become more flexible. Tapping identity makes you a more fully realized version of yourself, reinforcing convictions and boosting self worth.
  6. Yo. Found some more awesome stuff. On copper's Hemalurgic power (it steals Mental Fortitude): Ironic that stealing "mental fortitude" makes you go insane. Iron turns a human in a koloss. Tin also causes physical deformations and "possibly madness or memory loss." Zinc also "warps recipients," but doesn't specify how. Electrum, chromium, and nicrosil don't specify Hemalurgic abilities. Duralumin steals Feruchemical Spiritual powers. It's description is... interesting: This one seems a little more out there. I'd expect this more from stealing a human attribute. I don't immediately see why stealing a Feruchemical power--essentially hacking the Spiritweb--actually brings the other attributes of the person with it. I'll have to RAFO until that comes out in a book, or until I have more explanation. (By the way, the RPG uses the convention of capitalizing metals for the purposes of the game. This is intentional on their part, though it really annoys me.)
  7. Well, there are the people on the other side of Scadrial...
  8. That's a really good idea. At the Alloy release, Isaac said that the triangular symbols are a Terris thing. So, if the Allomantic symbols evoke "Imperial" culture, and Feruchemy evokes Terris, I don't think I want to know what Hemalurgic symbols look like.
  9. Wow, Ink, that was amazing. I think #16 is my favorite. I still remember an old TWG topic where someone said that with all the ash on Scadrial, there should be a lot of lightning. These pictures show how freaking cool ash and lightning looks together. (As inspiration, for our Mistborn RPG--not Crafty's--we made a city near an Ashmount which gets a ton of lightning because of it)

One could argue that storing Investiture applies to Allomancy. As the Note on the Metallic Arts says, burning a metal starts an Investiture. I assume if you are an Allomancer and a Feruchemist, you could then store such an Investiture--that of burning, say, Allomantic brass--into your nicrosilmind, and draw upon it/Compound later. That's my favorite theory for what the Lord Ruler did to enhance his brass burning.
  11. It's good to know about Investiture. That was pretty much what was said on some other topic, about how the Lord Ruler enhanced his Allomancy with Feruchemy. It stores generalized power. I always assumed you could store the power "burning brass", have it in his metalmind, then Compound it again later. So since that's basically how this describes Investiture, that's pretty awesome. However, the part that implies that the Lord Ruler would store the Well of Ascension in nicrosilminds... yeah, my mind was blown. I'm pretty sure he Compounded age, guys. I'm not sure what this obsession is with trying to insist that wasn't what he did, when the canonical description works best. Nope, sadly. The Steel Ministry, as far as we know, do not know that atium can act as a Hemalurgic wildcard. Yeah, I'm actually very certain that it's spelled "lerasium". For example, this image is woefully outdated (note that cerrobend was replaced a long time ago). I have the actual, limited edition of the Table of Allomantic Metals, and it is lerasium there. Unless it changed back since then, I guess, but I'm staking out that it's lerasium until Peter explicitly tells me otherwise. Speaking of which, if you find typos, post them here. I'm going to send CraftyGames an email about it. I'm not sure what you mean. From the description of aluminum: Chromium: Hope that helps. My first impressions? Wow, this is really freaking cool. The short story on the Eleventh Metal... spectacular. It's so awesome having Kelsier viewpoints again. We see Kelsier now more nobleman than the hero in Mistborn 1. Looking into his mind after he leaves the Pits of Hathsin is very enlightening. Oh, and then there's the real key about Kell found the Eleventh Metal: Other than that, I have yet to delve deeply into the game mechanics. For example, I totally missed that when Hemalurgy steals a Feruchemical powers, you can access the person's old metalminds. Which is awesome. Good job for people guessing that beforehand. Brandon's notes are great on how he both illuminates Scadrial, and helps new players get into the game.Hey, speaking of aluminum, on the Feruchemy side... a note from Brandon said this: Aluminum is identity, and holy cra[. What else? Inkthinker's art is incredible. If you're reading this, Ink, holy crap dude, you're awesome. (I also like the kandra named "BenSween", haha) And there's new Feruchemical symbols for the metals. They are triangular, as Isaac has said before. So cool. I wonder what Hemalurgic symbols could possibly even be...
  12. I am resurrecting this thread because I am typing this on my brand new Galaxy Nexus. Loving it so far.

  15. Confirmed at the signing tonight that Demoux is one of people here. See 17th Shard's (misspelled) tweets.
  16. Our illustrious zas678 is at the Brandon signing right now, and tweeted @17thshard this: "Odium is not native to Roshar" I am flipping out. Discuss (the tweet, not me flipping out).
  17. I would like to announce that I finished my Quantum Mechanics 2 final (which went pretty well!) and thus, I am finished with physics.
  18. One does not exist right now, I am fairly sure. Though there is like only one or two posts that have that level of reputation.
  19. You know when you get upvoted, you see your reputation amount go up when you post, but you have no idea what post was upvoted? I've always thought it's completely [insert swear word] stupid that you don't get notifications when you get upvotes. And while I don't have the best solution, at least I have a solution so you can find where you got reputation. Go to your profile, and there will be a new tab called Reputation. And when you click on it, you'll see the complete list of each post that got up or downvoted. The mystery has been revealed! So there you have it. I hope this is helpful for you until, at some point, we get something more effective.
  20. Yeah, that totally makes sense.
  21. Yup. I say we wait until Saturday before coming to a conclusion. That would make it a week for the polling process, and I think that's sufficient. People may switch their vote, people may not. But I wouldn't be too concerned if we didn't have a 50% majority. At this point, the people who care have probably voted for what they want. If the most people voted for one particular option, then that's what we'll go with. We shouldn't drag it out any more than we have to. Unless people really want a run-off, I guess, but that just seems annoying to have everyone vote again.
  22. This pretty much mirrors my thoughts on the matter. I assumed there'd be FTL travel to other cosmere worlds.
  23. I disagree, first-past-the-post is fine for this circumstance.
  24. Double posting, but since this was posted, this is pretty much why I think Hoid is up to something:
  25. I don't understand the problem here. Could you clarify?
