Of course you were thrilled by the awesomeness of the first bit of Words of Radiance, and you just can't wait for more. Well lucky for you, Tor has the next three chapters up! You can find them here! We've seen part of the Dalinar chapter and its vision before, but all the rest is new! I wonder how many more sample chapters we will get, considering we still have two months left before the book comes out. Discuss these chapters and more in our spoilerific Words of Radiance board on the forums. If you've managed to resist reading Words of Radiance, though, you have more willpower than me... -
I totally agree on Renarin's case and have changed it back. Oops. That was premature of me.<br /> <br />I am not opposed to changing Tevidian from Exemplary to Complete (it is definitely done and does not miss any content, however). That's a good discussion to have, because right now it is not clear what length is considered "long". Purelake's length is greater than 5000, while Tevidian's length is about 4300. I can switch Tevidian away from Exemplary, but I would like to know the precise definition of how long an article needs to be in order to be considered Exemplary rather than Complete.

Huh. Because these things work in Chrome for me on Windows 8.1. What OS version? I'll try and test around on some computers and browsers on campus and see if I can replicate it. EDIT: Obviously there is something in common, so we need to find what that commonality is. If anyone else has experienced this, please let me know.

Guess what? It is January 2014, which means Words of Radiance is coming out in just two months. In fact, if you follow the social medias, you already know that Words of Radiance is basically done (just the final proofs need to be turned in, and then it is done). So you know what that means: new sample chapters. Here are the prologue, chapter 1 (Shallan's first chapter), and chapter 2 (Kaladin's first chapter). This, combined with the Lift Interlude, means you get all the Words of Radiance chapters from the Steelhunt, and more, as the prologue and chapter 1 are totally new. And what chapters they are. Discuss these at our Words of Radiance Spoiler board! Also, you'll see that this image here is the final Words of Radiance cover art, with an improved Kaladin. Stay tuned for more Words of Radiance news. This weekend, we will have a comprehensive guide of everything we know about Words of Radiance so far, so look forward to that! -

Interesting. There was a topic a while back saying that IE11 had issues with that, but Chrome works fine. I would need to do research on it. If you click the upper left button of the text editor--which switches it to BBCode--can you then use the quote and multiquote features?

I'm not sure what you mean. I have a Nexus 5, and it is easy to access the full version from the mobile version. I am using Chrome on the stock KitKat ROM. Scroll down to the bottom and hit "Full version". Similarly on the full version you can scroll to the bottom and in the bottom left, hit Use Mobile Version. What specifically do you mean by the "Quick Navigation mobile menu"? The menu on the top right seems to work fine for me?

It will be January project, I promise! Something weird happened to the database and I don't know what. No matter; I have backups of the whole archive, so I will probably just need to reupload the whole thing and reinstall it. It will be a January project because I have my master's exams on Jan 2nd to the 4th. After that, I'll make a list of all the things I need to work on XD Also psst Kendra you should upload audio you got from that signing. Maybe you did already and I missed it, but I wanna know about those mist fabrials...

A Stylistic Question: Present or Past tense?

I think the biggest thing that leans me to present tense is the fact that the Coppermind is not solely an in world document. There are articles on Brandon himself, other out of universe things, and sometimes out of universe things mix with the in universe things. Having different POVs for both of them would be messy. -

Feather has consistently made good points about switching to present tense, and I am pretty much persuaded at this point. It will be a weird transition, but I'll live I think. Considering the articles I write most--the magic related ones--are present tense, and always should be, this is really the only way we can make it consistent. -

Alaxel, I have edited out that political opinion you put in your post. It is irrelevant to the topic at hand, and has a high chance of causing off topic flaming with people who disagree with you. I would ask everyone to save potentially inflammatory political or religious opinions for dedicated topics on the subject, if they are ever to exist. (Those serious topics would be heavily moderated.) This goes for everyone: not everyone sees the world in the same way as you do, and that's okay. Hyperbole, or inflammatory opinions get nasty quick, and we want 17th Shard to be a pleasant place to discuss things. Those sorts of opinions will be moderated heavily, from any side of the political spectrum. I will be very strict in this. -
Indeed, I have my master's comprehensive exams in January, so much of my time is devoted to studying, classwork, and a slight bit of video games to stay sane. Not much time for administrative work I'm afraid. You're fine

The multi-category search is a little funky, but you can use Category:Rosharan, Category:Scadrian, etc. for characters on each individual planet.
