1. I'm still amazed you got it out of them.
2. I will post this here as well. In my signed book, I asked if the metal in Paalm is from a Shard we know. It is. http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/45901-shadows-of-self-byu-midnight-signing/#entry336901
3. Important information about the ending of Shadows of Self and the mysterious metal are in my signed book, which I posted in my short report: http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/45901-shadows-of-self-byu-midnight-signing/#entry336901 (It is from a Shard we know)
4. So I am back and catching up with stuff, so I have info from the signing! The signing was a ton of fun and we had a booth and a sweet banner. It was fun to chat with people, and meet people like Joe and Kalyna, who I'd never seen before. So, here's info. Briefly in the Q&A: Someone asked about the Mistborn video game. Brandon grimaced a bit and said they are targeting 2017 now. He said there have been so many problems getting started that he considers the project vaporware. He has not had anything playable. He did say that he likes the company, though. There's going to be something more in the Reckoners universe (I think?) for Brandon to keep in touch with that publisher. During the line itself: We had a 17th Shard booth but it was far from the signing itself, so I don't have much. But some people came to talk to us about what happened: Someone asked for a "future quote from Harmony." Brandon said that no one had ever asked that before. He wasn't sure if the quote would be exact, so we'll need to check back around Mistborn 9, but he wrote in the book: "It is yours." That's awesome. Someone asked Brandon about Allomantic bronze detecting Feruchemy. Brandon responded with yes, but no one on Scadrial knows how to do this (at least now). The interesting thing is that Brandon said that Allomantic bronze could theoretically detect any "Kinetic Investiture". Note that I am capitalizing Kinetic there, as Innate Investiture was. Pretty awesome to get that new term. I am assuming it is the difference between a metalmind being Invested and actually using Feruchemy, or a person having a lot of Breath and someone actually Awakening. Later, I heard Brandon talking about something called "Apocalypse Guard" where there's a group that goes to worlds to prevent their destruction. Misc.: There's a symbol for Harmony now, created for the signing. Here it is. Now for my things that were signed. The following are massive spoilers. If you open these before reading the books... it's your fault. Info on Shadows of Self. Info on Elantris
5. Though I heard later that Isaac basically said "Oh crap" upon that discovery. Probably an error that may or may not have that retcon.
6. I have merged the two separate typo threads and pinned this.

Passwords?

Adamir, I can change both your password and email address to anything you desire. Give me about 30 minutes and I'll PM you.
8. These spoilers are best read yourself. Seriously Sharders you are killing me inside! Someone else read it so we can discuss the very important implications! I showed people at the release. Eyes popped out of their skills, basically. Do it!!
9. This is fine to post because it is from the Liar of Partinel sample chapter.
10. There is more than just maps.
11. Shadows of Self is out now. This is the full book reaction topic. What did you think?
12. So here's a topic for Elantris. You might want to look at that... Thoughts?
13. It is her birthday, Peter, you know you want to treat her
14. Yes! There are some Sharders from out of town that would love to as well, like Alyx and Kendra. Specifically, five of us could go.

Early Release

Let's wait to post full book stuff until midnight tonight Mountain time (Brandon time), which will be about eight hours from now. I'll post a "Shadows of Self reactions" topic so you know it's okay. But you'll be able to read the book now
16. It should be up to date. Windy has noted to me there are two Eon plantations on the map. Is that... a mistake?
17. The Chasm line in Elantris has been fixed in this version. That stuff is the main continuity error that needed to be fixed. Argent, I would assume so. Also, new capital names! Yay!
18. The new Elantris maps are here, guys, as revealed in Brandon's blog post today. Oh, Nazh. Also: Rose Barbarians. This map also explains why the Syclans don't go further south; there's a giant desert! Well this one is just a bit on the nose. It's awesome, though. Maybe this is the Coppermind editor in me coming out, but ahhhh the plantations are all on the map. Don't judge me. Also, jeez, Elantris is way near the mountains. Obviously it needs to be, but it's still strange to see on the map. What do you think? I am a little rushed, as I need to pick up Joe and Kalyna from the airport about now. Let me know!
19. The hype train is going up to full speed. Shadows of Self comes out tomorrow, but today, Brandon posted a huge blog about the Elantris Anniversary editions, which also comes out tomorrow and are definitely not something for you to forget about tomorrow. This new version of Elantris is now the canonical version, fixing some continuity errors. The physical edition will be North American only for now. It's hardcover first, and the paperback will come to this edition later, in a year or so. Ebooks will update to this text (with iBooks, automatically). In the UK, the text will be there soon™. But, of course, what's in the new Elantris? I'll let Brandon explain: So if you are in the mind of "eh, I don't want to reread Elantris," as some people are in the house I'm currently in (I'm currently hanging out with other 17S staff for the Shadows release tonight), fear not. The book is basically the same, but the new maps, and new stuff in the appendix and front are what you want. We'll discuss the maps in a moment, but first, we need to talk about the Elantris Leatherbound Edition, which has been teased on Twitter a bit, and now Brandon has revealed most of the details. He also goes on to say that we'll be able to get this from Brandon's store, or bookstores on tour, but probably not the average Barnes & Noble or Amazon. Now we have to talk about the maps, since they are conveniently all posted for our perusal. They are all in color, but I imagine in the physical Elantris Anniversary Edition, it will be grayscale (like in Alloy). I imagine they will be in color in the leatherbound. But guys. These are super cool. Let's go through each of these, with some brief comments. They all look fantastic. Great job, Isaac! Check them out: For full discussion on the maps, go here!
20. Lol you're fine, it was spammy, but I wanted to make sure it was seen I expected to get some crap for it
21. Only that Hoid has a grudge towards Rayse and Bavadin. So those two may have some relationship but it is not known to what extent.
22. Hi guys, With the release of Shadows of Self and the Elantris Anniversary edition, I wanted to remind you about spoiler policies. 1. No spoilers in topic titles! I mean it. Not only will we be removing said spoilers, we will be extremely upset if you do this in Cosmere Theories, Shadows of Self spoiler board, or Elantris. Keep topic titles vague! 2. If you're making spoiler topics in Cosmere Theories or the Elantris board, make sure the topic title explicitly has "Spoilers" in it. I like using [spoilers] for that. (This isn't necessary for Shadows of Self, as you can assume there are spoilers there.) 3. If the topic is clearly marked with spoilers, spoilers are allowed inside topics in the Shadows of Self board, Elantris, and Cosmere Theories without the spoiler tags, that is, without

However, if you are adding information to an older thread that does not have [spoilers] in the topic title, make sure you use these spoiler tags! For Cosmere Theories, keep Shadows spoilers marked through the release of Bands. (Usually Cosmere Theories has a much shorter turn-around, but be nice, because some will just wait to read Shadows until Bands comes out.) 4. If you are posting in General Brandon Discussion, always use the spoiler tags in the post themselves. That forum is basically a spoiler free zone.
