Martin has a reasonably developed internal clock.  So he recognizes when it's getting close to time for Nahl to arrive.  He gets up and goes to stand where he can see the road through the window.

"He wouldn't care." Ayia thought for a moment. "Probably."

"Probably, like... at least two thirds of it."
