Ene, the fire is going pretty good in the basement/cellar, but isn't going otherwise. 

Oryone shot Jonah in the side of the head, wiped the gun clean, and placed it in his hand. Poor man, getting mixed up with someone as ruthless as Meens. Oh well, time to get going.

Gunshot. Marie looked up, surprised, and quested with her senses, wishing she had tin. Finally she shrugged to herself and unlocked the door, stepping out. "Smoke? You're sure it's not cooking smoke?"

"There's a fire." She paused. Her face paled. "My notebooks!" She ran, grabbed her notebooks, put them in her backpack and then saw Drae. "Oh yeah. Him too." She kicked him in the side. "There is a fire!" She ran out of the room with her backpack.

Twice pulled his head up with a jerk. Gunshot. Something always happens, he thought as he threw a coin down the building, burning steel, and pushed himself into a soft landing. If he was right, then that gunshot was related to his latest acquaintances. He'd eat his metalminds, if not. And then he'd probably burn them. And put the speed in new metalminds.

Likelier than not, Meens had hunted them down and planned to have them killed. That wouldn't do. He hadn't even properly insulted them yet. Twice began Steelrunning, trying to find the group. They were probably all fairly close together.
