When the time came and he was looking upon a string of the universe itself, he tore. Not just that, he ripped. He shredded. He laughed. Ruin was blissfully unaware of why he had decided to do all this in the first place. He couldn’t remember. All his problems beforehand were now insignificant compared to the lustful looks destruction was giving him. Nothing mattered anymore as he did one great thing. He ruined. Taking in the last moments of the dying realm, Ruin exulted. This was truly something beautiful. Why would he bother himself with something simple, like destroying a planet? That wasn’t nearly ambitious enough. Yes, that was what his predecessors had lacked, ambition. Maybe because that was destroyed too? Ruin didn’t know, and didn’t particularly care. Nevertheless the Realm of Thought was gone, reduced to something less than atoms. The minds of the realms inhabitants broke and remade as they were ejected from the place. That was a surprise. Ruin had surely thought that they’d be destroyed too… but what can you do? Watching the Children of the Broken God flee was a sensation that compared not to that which Ruin had felt when he ripped Shadesmar to pieces. Ruin could hazily remember the bliss he’d felt only moments before. Yes, he could stack things upon each other, if only to make them fall again, but that was so… tedious. It was much, muchmuchmuchmuchmuchmuchmuchmuch, more enjoyable to simply destroy. As Ruins’ power escaped from the broken land of thought—home of spren, and the building grounds of Silverlight—he came to an amazing realization. Nothing was out of reach for him. Not even the three realms that made up the Cosmere could withstand the test of time that only ended in death. Yes… death and… Ruin. Two things that, simply put, were unavoidable.
