Just as he ran out, a beam crashed down from the ceiling. The figure took off their flaming robe, and threw it to the ground. He had seen the. . . What was it? The bird? The dragon? He had seen whatever it was starting the fire. He had seen his brother get crushed by a beam, and burned alive. That stupid bird had caused his brothers death. He would find it. And kill it. @Condensation @AmazingGoob Quote Ooh, nice. Good start.

Cadence looked at the human questioningly. What was an apartment? Was it the nest? And why wasn't it non-flammable? Her flames did die down, though.

Condensation she/her Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 Cadence didn't know why this nest was the way it was, but the human with food didn't want it changed. So she'd try to keep from singing anything. A light ripple of flames ran along her feathers and she nodded, trying to convey a smile.
Bearer of all agonies he/him Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 The Shadow started looking around for signs of where the bird went. He looked for scorch marks on the ground, and claw marks on signs. He asked people if they had seen a strange burning fire-bird around. They always looked at him as if he were crazy. He knew he wasn’t; he couldn’t have imagined something so crazy that would kill his brother. He knew that even if he didn’t find it today, he would hear of it soon.
Channelknight Fadran Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 An old-timey oil lamp clatters onto the floor in front of everyone.
Condensation she/her Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 Quote We're in an apartment, just so you know. Cadence cocked her head. What was this?
