Sorry kind of off topic, but did you used to get really exited when you made a new page? Or was it just me?

not just you...

A way to imprison them would be to... make them willing to do something and then that leads to something else they are slightly less willing to do and keep doing that and make it hard to return and then do something else or something... (if that makes sense)

Maybe just trick them into getting onto a plane and they can't do anything about it...

Maybe find a way to capture them, but the way to keep them in is to present a way to escape but will take a while and when they finally do it they learn it was actually planted as a trap to waste their time (like in that elantris novella)

just some ideas

'Connie the kidnapper' as her name grew to be.

Have a secret trapdoor behind a bookcase, because, duh. Ypu have to pull on Mistborn to open it.

Hmm... should I?

Given infinite resources, place them in two hanging cages at the center chamber of an underground maze. The walls and floor of this chamber, outside of their cages, are eternally moving sandpaper of a rough grain. Should they manage to escape the cages and land on the moving sandpaper, they'll get scoured, not to mention any ankles that may break in the fall, because again - hanging cages. If they, by some miracle, get out of the cages and have managed only minimal injury from the sandpaper, make sure you've had a chip implanted in both of their heads to generate a new number based on brain activity (roughly every half-second should work) that will be the key to the first stage of escape from the central chamber. If they managed to crack that, by some grace of God, then they enter the maze. Think Maze Runner but worse: fifteen levels, the exit closes at every half-hour strike, upon which the entire maze reorganizes itself in a truly unpredictable pattern based again on the brainwaves of the two participants, ensuring that randomness. Jokes on them if they manage to make it out of the "exit" too, since they'd be immediately greeted by the sight of pure darkness pressing in on a dome around them, for they've been sunk into the Mariana Trench.
Good luck, children.

Wait you said nothing too overkill. Disregard the last half of that, could probably stop at the sandpaper room.

Congrats, that's the most overkill thing I've ever seen. :P

Make your house out of gingerbread and offer to let them come in after they've eaten some.

In seriousness, part of this depends on who is doing the imprisoning. Is it an eldritch being that can trap them in another dimension, or a regular human with a basement in their house?

They're a regular human but they have very nice amounts of resources. This would be on an island.

Ooh! You could pull a palm tree like a lever and there is a trapdoor. BOOM! There you go!

Um... wow. Pulling palm trees. Impressive. :P

I don't know anybody named Nobdoy, but if you say they don't read White Sand, they probably don't read White Sand.

@Aspiring Writer I've read White Sand.

And I would do it again.

By separately, do you mean in a way they can't contact each other, or just in different containers?

Probably the first.

Maybe lure one to an underwater cavern, and cage the other in the old-fashioned way? How much manpower does the captor have?

Enough, and they can always hire more.

To catch them, cover the island in traps Absolutely cover it. To keep them imprisoned, a regular jail cell. If they escape, fake walls and fake hallways and fake floors and fake everything and YouTube.
