Yeah, it is rough playing any game the first time.  The next game will have alliances, which will change things a bit. But the rest of the mechanics will be the same.

That's not quite what I mean, it almost always takes me a game to remember how to play. That's why I tend to lose at Scythe and other board games.

Oh, I see. You played before but it was awhile ago. Actually same for me. I think it's been about a year since I last played. Though Coup is much simpler to get back into compared to other board games like Scythe, which I played only once and hardly remember how to play now.
