IcaroRibeiro he/him Posted October 10, 2020 Posted October 10, 2020 So far all my Stormlight Books are digital, the series was never published in my country so I've never had a chance to get a physical copy, shipping fees being excruciatingly expensive never helped either But since late 2019 Amazon started selling international books on their online store with more accessible price tags and no shipping fee! I decided to wait ROW release to buy all 4 SA books together, now one month before release it's time to decide: Hardcover or Paperback? Right now, I can get all 4 books for around 458 BRL for paperback and 753 BRL for hardcover I don't have much free money to spend, 458 BRL is already a blow on my finances, so I really appreciate your help Can you guys can provide me photos so I can decide which version I'll finally take ? Does paperback version gets all maps and illustrations? It's the main reason for me to take the physical copy
KandraAllomancer he/him Posted October 10, 2020 Posted October 10, 2020 I can't provide much information about hardcovers vs paperbacks (I only buy ebooks + leatherbounds), but my personal experience with Amazon wasn't exactly great (damaged books, books not delivered and returned to Amazon etc.). You might want to try Book Depository (https://www.bookdepository.com/) - it offers free (if slow) worldwide delivery 1
+Invocation Posted October 11, 2020 Posted October 11, 2020 Hardcover. I know it's more expensive, but the paperbacks rip in half after a read or two. They're so large that the spine can't handle it well. The extra cover art that I think paperback doesn't get are just a bonus for being able to read as many times as you want without losing pages. 1
aneonfoxtribute Posted October 11, 2020 Posted October 11, 2020 (edited) Hardcover is naturally a lot more sturdy so if you don't want your book harmed too much, then get hardcover. But if you like the European covers and want those, get paperback, because I think they're only in paperback. Edited October 11, 2020 by aneonfoxtribute
ScavellTane Posted October 11, 2020 Posted October 11, 2020 Hardcover is the only way to go... You'll want to be able to re-read all of this when the series ends in 25 years.
Aspiring Writer Posted October 11, 2020 Posted October 11, 2020 Just pick the cheap option, it doesn't matter
