A man constricted by dark vines. They grew from every orifice, their ends wiggling in the air like fingerless, boneless arms.

"No," whispered Ronin as he drew his sword and rushed towards the man in the vines.

The vines shot forth, curving in a dark smile.  They attacked Ronin from every angle.

Ronin ducked and rolled away towards a building, screams erupted everywhere. Ronin dodged a vine barely. Ronin chopped several vines. Toran jumped out of Ronin's pocket and became larger and the size of a building, he rushed towards the vine man?

Vine after vine burst forth, slamming into the wooden (wooden, right?) creature and pushing it back.

Toran grunted as Ronin sliced through a large swath of vines, "who and what are you?!?!"

Garbled laughter.

A.w.a.k.e, the vine-weaver lilted.

He answered the question.

The vines tightened.

Ronin groaned as he sliced them with his sword in fury, the vines writhed but they were too hard.

Ellis hopped onto the motorbike, pushing the Amulet’s power away once again.

The vinewalker reached into its chest and pulled out a tightly coiled ball of writhing black thread.

Closer and closer the vines came, bringing the disturbing payload towards Ronin.

Ronin cocked his head, what was that thing. as it came closer and closer Ronin struggled against the vines, Toran screamed faintly in the distance as he was held back by the vines.

Ronin screamed, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!?!"

The vinewalker gave Ronin what could only be described as a loving gaze.

It moved the writhing ball towards Ronin's mouth.

Ronin screamed loudly again, he waved his sword towards the vine walker in vain. He moved to slice of one of the vine walker's arms.

The slashing seemed to slow the vine walker's advance, if only a little.

Ronin smiled, but then he heard a scream and turned, a little girl was held by a vine, Ronin struggled to get to her which only let the vine walker to come closer.

The vinewalker pulled its two victims closer in. The ball of writhing string hovered between them.

Ronin cocked his head, "me or the girl? what is that ball?"

Seemingly arbitrarily, the vinewalker moved the ball towards the girl.

[Thaidakar the Ghostblood he/him]

"FINE FINE," shouted Ronin, "DO ME."

The vinewalker hesitated.

Ronin rolled his eyes, "YES, as long as you leave the girl ALONE."

The vinewalker ignored Ronin's cries as it pulled him into itself.

Ronin yelled as the vines absorbed him, filling his orifices and clogging his senses. And then suddenly Ronin could breath again.
