The last revenant fell. The square was suddenly, eerily silent.

"Merciful Light," whispered the woman for whom the group had yet to obtain a name from. "I never thought I'd see the day..."

I breathed heavily, then turned to the woman. "Who're you?"

The woman blinked. "Cupra... Merenka."

[Channelknight Fadran]

"Did you know something about these revenants?"

[xinoehp512 he/him]

"Yes," replied Cupra. "They are... corrupted souls. The Gray Man draws the life from them and inverts it. Then, when they die, their corrupted soul is drawn back into their creator and adds to his power."

[Channelknight Fadran]

I blinked. "He... what?"

[xinoehp512 he/him]

Cupra sighed. "His touch makes the revenants. Every one you kill makes him stronger."

"Then where on earth is he?"

"It is inevitable," said Cupra. "Likely enough, he is or soon will be under the control of the Dark Lord."

"Oh. Alright, I'm sure we can take him!"

"It is good you have confidence. Likely it is your blade that must fell him to destroy his power."

"Just him, though, right? I don't have to take all of the other guys?"

"Others should be able to take care of the revenants, yes."

"Lady, can you just point us in the direction of this Origin place?"

[xinoehp512 he/him]

"Yes," replied Gerald. "It would be highly unwise to leave Fate waiting."

"It is not far away," replied Cupra. "I presume you all can swim?"

[Channelknight Fadran]

"Yes?"

[Condensation she/her]

"I can, although maybe not with this big heavy sword on my back. And obviously Gerald's a good swimmer!"

"It is at the bottom of a well."

Ellis frowned. "It is? What well?"

"Well then, I guess the sword won't be a problem!"
