Condensation she/her Posted September 9, 2021 Author Posted September 9, 2021 "How do I help, how do I help?"
Channelknight Fadran Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 I hold up a hand, beckoning Melody to wait. I can make it through this... right? "I--I'll be okay."
xinoehp512 he/him Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 Yeah, it doesn't last for very long. Only a couple moments.
Condensation she/her Posted September 10, 2021 Author Posted September 10, 2021 "Are you sure? I mean, obviously you'll eventually be okay, but..."
xinoehp512 he/him Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 At that moment, the screams began.
Channelknight Fadran Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 I immediately start booking it towards the screams.
xinoehp512 he/him Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 Ellis arrives in time to see a grey-skinned figure drop a corpse to the ground. It stands up and shuffles behind him, joining the small crowd of undead the figure has already managed to create. As Ellis watches, he grabs a person huddling in fear and begins to drain the life-force from them.
Channelknight Fadran Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 The he--... zombies??? I grip my sword and stare the closest one down.

Channelknight Fadran Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 "Okay! Get out!" I shout. "I don't know if swords can kill you but I'm not afraid to try."
xinoehp512 he/him Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 The Gray Man looked up at Ellis's exclamation. He cocked his head in curiosity. A couple of revenants started towards Ellis.
Channelknight Fadran Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 I fall into a fighting stance.
xinoehp512 he/him Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 (edited) The revenants run at Ellis with fists ready to attack. For all appearances, they seem like an ordinary small mob - all save for their pale skin, unfocused eyes, and eerie coordination. Edited September 12, 2021 by xinoehp512
Channelknight Fadran Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Who the heck is Fadran? Quote Ellis goes into first person whenever he's drawing upon the amulet's power.
Channelknight Fadran Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 I draw strength--not too much--from the amulet, dashing away my fear, then run forwards and slash at the first revenant.
xinoehp512 he/him Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 The revenant falls easily. A dark spirit rises from its corpse and drifts towards the Gray Man. The other revenants fall on Ellis.
Channelknight Fadran Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 I slash in a wide circle, jumping backwards with speed unparalleled before shooting back towards the fight.
xinoehp512 he/him Posted September 13, 2021 Posted September 13, 2021 Ellis cut through the revenants with ease, each one releasing a dark spirit that flowed back to the Gray Man.
Condensation she/her Posted September 13, 2021 Author Posted September 13, 2021 Melody stepped closer, eager to do her part. She raised her sword and swing it toward one of the zombies. "Take that!" She yelled.
xinoehp512 he/him Posted September 13, 2021 Posted September 13, 2021 The sword ends the revenant's existence. No dark spirit rises from its corpse. As the rest of the revenants are destroyed, you realize you cannot see the Gray Man.
Channelknight Fadran Posted September 13, 2021 Posted September 13, 2021 Was I supposed to know who this Gray Man was?
xinoehp512 he/him Posted September 13, 2021 Posted September 13, 2021 No, but he might seem oddly familiar.
Condensation she/her Posted September 14, 2021 Author Posted September 14, 2021 Melody swung for another zombie. I wonder what the gray smoke whatever means, she thought musingly.
