I let out a breath. "Yeah. You're probably right. Like... that one book." I scratch my head. "I don't remember what it's called. Anyways..."

"Agreed," said Gerald. "If you have to use it, use it only for healing. It's not meant to give someone new powers, merely enhance their current ones."

"Okay!" Melody reached over her shoulder and grabbed the hilt, pulling it out of the sheath. However, the sword was too long: the tip got stuck in the scabbard and Melody's arms were not long enough to draw it any further. "It's a little long..."

The sword came out and Melody brandished it. "Nice!"

A voice gasped. "At last!" it said. "The Chosen One!"

"Uh... who was that?" Melody looked around.

A woman approached. She had white hair, silver eyes and seemed almost to glow. She stopped and knelt at Melody's feet.

"You have come to free us at last," she said.

[Condensation she/her]

"Ah... I'm afraid... you have the wrong girl."

The woman frowned. "Whatever do you mean?"

"I can't be the Chosen One. I'm... me."

[xinoehp512 he/him]

"Of course you are you," said the woman, puzzled. "And you are also the Chosen One. The sword has chosen you."

"The sword? A knight gave me the sword, it didn't choose me or something mystical like that."

The woman shook her head. "However you got the sword, it has chosen you now... I can feel your bond to it. To you, it is a weapon capable of ending a god. To anyone else, it is simply a sharp stick."

"But why me?"

The woman smiled. "Legend has it that the sword has a mind. Perhaps you wielded it with valor, and it was impressed."
