"S'more sticks, possibly?"

"S'more sticks, that we have done that aisle there," the man pointed off to his left. "I'll be at the front counter when you're done."

"Is there anything else you wanted?" The man glanced at Q again.

Q rubbed her chin. "Probably a talk with you about getting a tent for myself," she said, raising an eyebrow.

"Come with me to the front 'Q.'" He turned to Ellis, "feel free to browse the aisles."

Q nodded, making her way to the front of the store.

"Oh! I thought that was an accident. Sorry, house!"

A creaking noise sounded from the house (Gerald, somewhat hopefully, thought it sounded forgiving) and it moved to stomp on the rest of Dr. Who Octopus's minions. In the distance, a cry of dismay could be heard from the doctor himself as his latest scheme was foiled.

An infuriated Dr. Who Octopus ensnared Gerald in one of his arms. "This is you doing," he snarled. "I can smell it."

Gerald struggled. "Look, I did nothing-"

"Don't lie to me."

Gerald swallowed. "I'm sorry, it was an accident-"

Dr. Who Octopus continued to ignore Melody, instead opting to squeeze Gerald until he began to choke.

"An accident?" he snarled. "You expect me to believe that?"

Posted

Dr. Who Octopus, enthralled with fury, continued not to notice Melody. Gerald was beginning to turn blue in his grasp, and he showed no sign of letting go.

The sharp end pierced the shell with only slight difficulty.

Dr. Who Octopus made a noise of shock and immediately turned to face Melody, swinging instinctively at her with the arm containing Gerald as he moved away from the strike.

"Get back!" hissed Dr. Who Octopus. "Don't bring that cursed blade anywhere near me!"

Gerald gasped, only barely able to get words out. "The... arm..." he rasped with difficulty. "Cut... it..."

Posted

With a satisfying swish, the sword passed straight through the arm. The painful sound of tearing metal and breaking wires filled the air. Dr. Who Octopus screamed, shying back in agony as the arm holding Gerald fell to the floor in a frenzy of twitching motion and flying sparks.

"NoOo0O!" he screamed in a distorted voice. "wH4t HAVe you DoNe...?"

Around, the remaining uncrushed un- minions began to jerk erratically as their controller suffered the electrical equivalent of a nervous breakdown.

"I have no idea," said Gerald, extricating himself from the arm. "But likely the fact that your sword is a mordite weapon has something to do with it."

Posted

"A substance of pure destruction," said Gerald. "Weapons crafted of it harm any they are wielded against- weak or powerful, mortal or immortal. It's not an instant kill, though, and cutting off an arm shouldn't be a fatal strike."
