[Scarletfox]

A man materialized in the room. He wore a long brown unbuttoned trench-coat that went down to his ankles, the left sleeve was caked with blood. His face was smudged, and his curly black hair stuck out of his brown fedora. Underneath the coat, the man wore a black shirt, and gray trousers with a huge belt. There were two handguns on his belt. He wore cowboy boots. He almost would have looked handsome, until he smiled a broad, overjoyed smile, but the smile was sickening and cruel, a mark of insanity on the man's face.

The Fox hazily sat up, her eyes having trouble focusing on anything. How long had she been out? Had anyone died yet? Had she killed anyone while she was gone? No, it looked like very little had changed. She was probably unconsience for a few minutes at most. Everything was still blurry, but then someone popped into existence. Winter? No. Someone she recognized. Someone...

Oh no. 

"Yes, that's right." He sang. "I am no longer a voice in your head, prompting action, but it appears you have been kind enough to give me a body this time! Let's see, how shall we begin.... Ooh! Lookie there, did you bring more playmates?"

The Fox stared at the man with dull eyes, hatred gnawing at her skull like a mole on an electrical wire. How was she even awake? Normally he took over, and she couldn't focus at all. In the past, she had really no control over herself at all.

"How are you even here?" She asked.

He made a face at her, one she was familiar with, one that pained her. One that screamed, how could you? "Is that any way to greet your big bro, Little Fox?" He said with pseudo-disappointment.

"You are no brother of mine." The Fox answered coldly.

He laughed. A big hearty laugh. One that would have once brought her warmth, comfort, and joy, but that now only invited weighted dread. The Fox closed her eyes. 

"I think I liked it better when I couldn't think about your presence." She said.

He laughed warmly again.

"You're not really him. I know that. I just wish you wouldn't use his voice, his smile, and now, his body. It... hurts."

"Are you sure that I am not your brother? Do I not look and sound like your brother?" 

The Fox opened her eyes. Yes, her brother did look the same, exactly the same, as he did years ago. "I want you to leave. Although it is harder this way, at least I can say what I think. GET. OUT."

"Now, now, now, Little Fox." His head tilted to one side, speaking as if she were a kindergartener. "You know that's simply not how things work. You need to defeat me. Perhaps physically this time, I don't know. Talia's not around to help you anymore, is she. Neither is Rena, I think you killed her when you opened up to your emotions again... Such.... fooolishnesss."

"Perhaps it was foolishness. But I can learn from my mistakes. This time, shall I call upon, I don't know... Autumn?"

"You wouldn't dare." He rolled his eyes. "She demanded far too much, even from you.."

"Perhaps I am willing to make... sacrifices to be rid of the pain."

The blonde woman had leaped up from the bed, reaching for her sword--that wasn't there. The brown-haired one stayed seated, looking the slightest bit concerned.

"Who are you!?" The blonde one challenged, settling on using a pillow as a weapon.

"It's from the new one's mind." The brown-haired woman said. "If Korin were here, he'd go crazy."

"Followed," it rasped, adding a few more words in an unintelligible tongue.

Jeffery went pale at the words. "Oh. Oh no. We need to hide. Now."

"Don't worry," She said, "I don't think he'll hurt you guys."

"I wouldn't be to sure about that..." Her brother said. He raised on of his guns at the brown haired woman.

The Fox froze. It was the gun from so long ago. "No, brother!" She screeched, leaping on him and bringing him to the ground. After trying to do some damage, and failing, the Fox's brother easily restrained her, picked her up, and tossed her onto one of the beds. Well, at least he didn't kill her yet.

"I've always been stronger than you, Little Fox." He said, lumbering towards her. "Don't you think I could have killed you any time before if I really wanted to?"

"No! You would've if you could've! I would have been dead years ago if you had the chance!"

He clucked his tongue, stopping. "You really think that, don't you. You really think that you accomplished something when you ran away like a coward? That you couldn't have done something, anything to stop me from killing Alice?"

"Don't you dare say her name." The Fox whispered, but her brother ignored it.

"I've always had a soft spot for you, Little Fox. I never would have intentionally killed you. Don't you think you could have stopped me? Put yourself in-between Alice and I? I never would have killed you, and perhaps if I knew how much you l loved her," his voice got quieter, "perhaps if I knew, I never would have killed her, either."

"I couldn't have stopped you. No matter what I did!" The Fox was sure of this... Fairly sure. "Brother!" She screeched. "You fill me with lies! You showed me pain, true pain that night! You destroyed me! You wanted to see me hurt!  You did not love me!"

"Oh, my dear Little Fox. My little sister. My little shadow. How did I train you wrong?"

"You never trained me! I barely even knew you! You left long before I could have learned anything from you!"

"You are naive. Do you think that perhaps the reason I killed her was because I was... jealous?"

"Not true!"

"Really."

"You lie to make me angry!" The Fox pulled out one of her knives and lunged at the man again. She was going to end this, once and for all. But her brother didn't dodge, or try to stop the blow.

"You're weak." He said, not flinching as the knife drove through his chest, just to the right of the heart. "I knew you could not do it." 

"Perhaps not alone. I will call Autumn!"

"Do it then." Her brother folded her arms and smiled.

"I will." The Fox gritted her teeth.

Jeffery exhaled. "I... don't know if that's going to be enough. I'm fairly certain he can track portals- how else would he have found us? Unless..."

He turned to Fadran. "Do you think you could use your, whatchamacallit, the 'mindscape' to disguise the portal entrance?"

A female voice said, "You needn't call me, darling, I am present." The Fox spun around to look at a woman who must have appeared behind her. "I am glad to hear that you are ready to make a... deal," The woman said. Her pale skin was cloaked in a elegant blue dress, like on that would be worn to a gala. She had curly blonde hair.

"Yes, Autumn. I am re-" The Fox stopped as she felt her brother's gun firmly pressed against her neck. Da(rn)-it! She hadn't been paying attention to him. 

"Don't come any closer, Autumn!" Her brother snapped, his voice as taut as a fishing wire being strained on by a bass (does this make sense?). The Fox heard... fear, in it. She smiled. 

"You realize the... conditions of our arrangements?" Autumn re-iterated.

"Yes."

Just then, the Fox's brother took away the pressure from her neck, lowered the gun to her back, and shot her. She gasped in pain. Her brother put her head into a choke hold, placing the gun at her head again. "I said, NO. CLOSER."

"Oh, please, Chad. You know as well as I do what would happen if she died. You'd never go through with actually killing her." Autumn stood there looking unconcerned. "The Fox may be ready to deal with me, but I do not know if I am ready to deal with her. How do I know you will go through with it?"
