Spin walks up to Kindness. "Hi."

"Hello," Kindness says mildly awkwardly, because conversations are hard.  "Where are you from?"  She tries, cringing.  That was generic.

Spin smiles. "I'm from the Expanse of the Vapors. In the human world, it's called Scadrial."

I follow my companions north. I stay toward the rear of the group not engaging anyone in conversation. It has been so long since I have had any whom I can truly call friends as the ancient gods are my witnesses I shall keep them safe or die trying. My senses are attuned to this strange realm. Every sensation reveals much.

Fadran falls back to Nath. "So... how you doing?"

I sigh internally as Fadran slows down so that we are walking side by side. I allow no emotions to surface. I nod my head in recognition. "For the first time in many centuries I have something akin to a family. Immortality is as much a curse as a blessing. My inability to save Eric or Icona weighs on me in ways that I have never before known. With all of my knowledge and power my limits have never been so clear. I have known so much destruction. You note my anger and you fear it. The truth is I fear it. I forget the fragility of it all." I give a wan smile. "I fear that I am not nearly as divine as I may appear. More importantly Fadran is how are you holding up?"

Skye listened, though tried not to be placed in a position where she might have to talk to anyone, she wasn't feeling like it. She was happy to get back Kindness's memories, but what if their reaction wasn't strong enough? She had so many worries and doubts, it was hard to think about much else.

Walking with the group, Enter looked at the back of his hand, seeing a single wisp of mist come off of it.

"Me?" Fadran asks. "I've been doing what I've always done to make by: help other people. Watching others learn, grow, and find their inner strengths is something I've always done to find peace and balance in my life. When Icona died to save Queen, I couldn't help but wonder if his choice was influenced by my internal need to help others. I think the most important thing that's helped me, though, is moving on." He summons his Channelblade, holding it before him. "It's easy enough to stop on the pathway of life because you think your lot is hard, but you can't turn around and go back: what's done is done. Staying still won't get you any closer to where you need to be."

He hikes up his backpack. "It gratifies me more than you might think to know that we mean to you the same you mean to us. Family and friends are not so different. There are some who say that family is the most important thing in the universe; others who say the opposite. There are those who say they are the same thing, but it's not quite that simple. There's only one person in this world who can make a difference, and that's yourself. That's you, that's me, that's everyone here: we're all the only ones that matter, because as individual as everyone is, we're all connected; we're all the same." He looks up at Skye, unable to read her thoughts, but to feel her reservations. "It's not about how long we spend together, or what differences we find. What we share is everything we have, everything we have had, everything we will have: experiences, memories, friendships, family. No one needs to forge out on their own to learn things--no one should. The most important things we do are the things we do together."

Herate, who had been walking at the back of the group, hiked up her backpack. "So, we're not going to Sel?"

Skye pauses. Was Fadran talking to her? She forces a smile, though it feels wrong to do so.

Fadran doesn't say anything to her, letting her ponder what he had just said.

"We're going to Sel after we get the demon warrior back. I imagine Mordred would be useful in a revolution."

Nicely done.

I smile a little more strongly for a moment. "I have been alone for so long that I had forgotten such truths as these. I thank you for this in exchange I will give you two things. First, the secret to stopping me should the worst come to pass. A gold weapon forged at the moment of sunset can kill me. That alone will stop me. Second, I will give you a spirit forged connection as you have with Queen."

"I certainly hope I never have to kill you, but..." He hands Nath a paper and pen. "I would like to be Bonded to you, like some others."

I take hold of the pen and paper thoughtlessly and I write down a version in the most ancient of scripts. I hand it back to Fadran and lower all of the defenses of my mind.

On a scale of 1 to 11 how developed is Nath's character? While what I do with Spiritcalling is quite literally Godmodding, I prefer to dodge mistakes wherever possible.

Let's put it this way. He is fairly undeveloped, because he is a hypothetical what if of a race in one of my series' mixed with me. The race is developed this character less so. I know his inherent powers and not much else.

*I smile a little more strongly (either now or for a moment not both). "I have been alone for so long that I had forgotten such truths as these. I thank you for this, in exchange I will give you two things. First, the secret to stopping me, should the worst come to pass. A gold weapon forged at the moment of sunset can kill me. (This sentence is kinda redundant) Second, I will give you a spirit forged connection, as you have with Queen."

I think I should be an editor as a part-time job when I grow up. My actual job will be an elementary school teacher.
