Herate woke up in an unfamiliar room, lying on the floor. In front of her were two beings, a red holed and a woman with wings, antennae, and multifaceted eyes. She scrambled to her feet, assuming a fighting stance and taking stock of her person and surroundings. Her bag had not been taken, and she decided she would have to check it later to see if anything had been taken from it. (I'm now going to define what the "special prison wing" looks like. If it has been defined before, please correct me.) The room was made of dark stone, like the rest of the cave system, and she could see a window with a charred figure facing . . . was that the king? What was he doing in there? That must be Baalhan, facing the king. There was a man standing in front of the window. Herate looked back toward the two beings in front of her. "Where am I?"

Actually, everything in the outpost is made from a white stonelike substance.

"Uh..." said Jaxevist, momentarily too shocked for words.

"Are you alright?" asked Cassandra, kneeling down besides Herate. "Orange holed aren't exactly known for their gentleness..."

Fadran Forges a Spirit Bond to Eric's mind; or, rather, the outward appearance of his mind.

Illusion magic? Icona asked. I haven't seen you use that in awhile.

"Eric's mind isn't his own." Fadran grunted, holding Eric down. "At the forefront of his mind, it isn't him, but the holed. Which means, by controlling his mind..." He found the perfect sweet spot to control. "I control the holed's."

Let go of him! Fadran ordered the voice commanding Eric's mind. Let go of him! Let him free!

Suddenly, Fadran grunted loudly in pain. A force began to fight against him; a powerful mental force. The holed.

Out of his head! He screamed at it mentally. Get out of Eric's head!

The thrall rings in Eric's eyes tighten. For a moment, he relaxes. Then, with a guttural howl, he shatters the fields binding him, hurling Fadran backwards as he pulls himself to his feet. He breathes heavily, gasping in lungfuls of air. Then he hisses.

"You think you can defeat me, foolish mortal?" Eric hisses in a decidedly non-Eric voice. "Think again."

Fadran scrambles to his feet, summoning his Channelblade.

"There's more than one way to skin a cat." He grumbled to himself. His Bond, of course, had shattered... but the experience remained in his mind--as well as some vital information he had been careful to extract.

Then, without a word, he books it down the hallway.

Edit: @Enter a username you're the one who made the book adaptation thingy? I got it in my email from the Shard and... well, imagine my confusion when I did.

Okay, white stone not dark stone!

Herate keeps silent, not trusting the two beings in front of her, but she reaches up one hand and pokes her nose, trying to see if it was broken. It was, much to her chagrin.

She winces, and takes a mental check of what hurts: everything.

Yeah. It's not super strong, but it's strong enough to serve for a convenient tracking scene.

Realizing something, Herate looks behind her and bolts down the hallway.

I mean, I don't think the holed closed and locked the door :)

Enter a username pauses. "Wait- Kindness, could you find Fadran?"

"Um, I think so."  Kindness allows herself to sink into thought.  There's a calm sea - and a tug.  "That way!"  She takes the lead, going down a hallway to the right.

"Why not? I know he's been enthralled, I was there."

"Well, um, because..." He kicks open a door... and finds himself face-to-face with the holed controlling Eric. "Because I didn't want this guy to know I was onto him."

Fadran swings his Channelblade at the holed, determined to kill the thing here and now.
