Fasi looked at her. She's so nieve, she thought, then again, she hasn't been through what I have. "I guess not," Fasi said in a falsely optimistic voice.

Sarah nodded uncertainly, clearly unsure of what to do with the sudden turn the conversation had taken. "So," she said after a very awkward pause, "Are you planning on going down into the caverns?"

I was aiming for an exasperated loss of words there not knowing what to say so I defaulted to my bloodthirsty friends sentence, but I'll roll with it. And I'm not sure if I've said this, but my italics and bold are my awakened earring and cleaver talking to me and each other, so they can't be heard... I need to write better.........now I'm exasperated....sigh:D

"Hello. My name is Althea Tenira." she introduced herself in an attempt to get his attention.

Standing up as Althea starts speaking to him. "Hello Althea, I am Adren."

"What about me, and Jeth. We are here to ooooo" Mercy whined in Adren's mind.

"Well I don't care. I'm tired. Leave me out of this."

"I'll introduce you too I guess." Adren half whispered half thought, speaking fully again, with a hint of a sigh

"And these are Mercy," Adren lightly taps the copper earring in his ear lobe. "And Jethro" Gesturing to the cleaver on the table. "They are my friends and my personal shoulder devils."

"Heyyyyyy that's not nice" Mercy complained loudly in Adren's head.

"He isn't exactly wrong you know. Although I am more of a hip devil myself." Jethro chuckled at them.

Karin handed in her questionnaire to Deb and thought for a bit. The woman had said that they'd send word, but she somehow doubted she would be able to do so when she was in the alleys. "Is it possible to stay here until the decision has been made?" She asked. "The place I live is rather... hard to reach." She tapped the guild affiliation question in the questionnaire, where it said "DA".

Whisper kept her head forward as the presentation began, using the time to consider what she would do about Wes. He'd admitted that he was a Ghostblood, but that might not necessarily be the most useful thing on this expedition, especially given how the ACE employee had reacted to that question about things to kill.

But he's eager to talk, nervous, possibly concerned about his status.

The pen in Whispers hands continued to twitch and she was briefly tempted to ask someone from the Counter Intelligence department if they had any information. But she wasn't here on behalf of the DA right now, no doubt some other denizens would come along for that, including whoever the Aylitha look-alike was. This was for her more personal interests, those not shared by most other Denizens.

The room filled with light again as the presentation ended, Whisper took the chance to erase her previous sentence from the writing board and began to scrawl something else before turning it around to Wes.

Even if the Ghostbloods don't need you, it seems these people do. Couldn't you help the people who went missing?

That had been an interesting note, some people had already gone completely radio silent down in the caverns. ACE had done a decent job of keeping that quiet so far, and they seemed to be genuinely interested in recovering their personnel and not losing any more. That would probably draw a nice crowd of people who wanted to play hero, though that mention of trackers might put some people off.

She looked up at Wes, no judgement in her expression. Just a fixed and determined gaze.

Isn't helping people enough? It doesn't matter who else is here, just whether or not you will be.
@I think I am here.

"Hello Adren." Althea replied, not changing her face when he introduced his earring and cleaver. "And hello Mercy and Adren."

He was a strange, a unique one in this mass and he interested her. If he felt the need to introduce his voices - it hinted either at a mind that was broken nearly beyond repair, or at some kind of intelligence in the objects. Maybe even a spren that stayed close to them, or used them as cover. Quickly she looked him up and down, tried to discern if he was a threat or not. She would have him in her back at one point or the other, to know if she had to expect his cleaver in his back at any time would be valuable knowledge.

"What are they?" She asked refering to his earring and cleaver, careful to keep anything but polite curiosity out of her tone. Just enough to hopefully spark a reply, not too much to seem threatening.

Deb followed the young woman's finger to where she pointed, feeling a slight prickle at the back of her neck when she read the words "DA." It was hardly a shock that someone from the Dark Alley had turned up - this type of expedition had all the hallmarks of something that would catch their attention. The Executive Committee had figured that they'd have ended up down there one way or another - might as well open the expedition to all guilds and hope that some of the DA's resources and knowledge ended up on the team. It was practical and prudent, and while Deb had little love for some of their practices, she also knew it was pointless to condemn them outright. They'd built and maintained this world, after all, and had been the majority of what stood between the city and total destruction earlier that year.

"Of course," she said, giving the woman a small, polite smile. "Though with your expertise, it is safe to assume that you will be granted a spot on the expedition. I don't want to give you any guarantees, but your knowledge will likely prove invaluable to us down in the caverns."

"Don't fee bad if you don't quite understand them," Adren smiled at Althea. Clearing is throat, he begins

"These are my friends and my burden. For a long time I had been fascinated by the legendary sword Nightblood, and the method of creating type 4 biochromatic entities. During this time, I had help experimenting, and the results, are me, nearly breathless. And my friends. Mercy and Jethro. Both type 4 entities, endowed with sentience and strong personalities."

Pausing to cough harshly into his shoulder,

"Mercy is a copper earring, with excellent  memory and bloodlust to match a berserker. Jethro is a steel cleaver with a slice of apathy and want to go back to sleep, despite the fact I've only caught him fake sleeping."

"I do too sleep. You just wake me up" Jethro indignantly thinks.

"What else would you like to know, Althea" Adren says with a smile.

Awakened objects then. Interesting. Despite the high amount of investiture in the Alleyverse, these were rare. That he spoke so open about them made her wonder if he was telling the truth, or playing some kind of game. Judging his tone, it was possible, but the way he easily included some facts, a more detailed description made her lean towards the fact, that he was telling the truth. Add to that the fact how he mentioned experiments as if they were something usual, daily task. Another member of the DA? Maybe. If he continued to be as openhanded with his information she would most likely find out.

"Were you able to influence their personalities?"

She asked carefully hiding her curiosity.

Karin gave a polite nod. "Thank you," she answered. She walked over to the tray with snacks and drinks, grabbing something small. Once she finished it she wandered over the the corner of the room, sitting down against the wall. She slowly started meditating, her entire body completely still. She stopped breathing, fully focusing inwards. Her mind slowed down, and everything around her seemed to speed up. It should allow her to easily wait out the time until the decision was made.

Fasi look at the Sarah. "You don't know what a- no of course not. I do magic with chalk." Fasi got off her chair and drew a Line of Forbidance (perfectly straight of course) on the chair. She tested it by attempting to wave her hand over it, she could not. "Wave your hand over that," Fasi said to Sarah.

“I... guess,” Wes said quietly, reading from the square. He looked up to see her stare at him, strong and unflinching, and he immediately cringed under her gaze and looked down. He pulled his cloak over himself again, tried to appear smaller.

“It’s just, I don’t know. Like trying to work with an axe above your head when she’s around. Or any one else of them really. The high ranks, you know?” He focused his eyes on the projector screen behind the boss woman to give himself an excuse to not look Wes - the other Wes, in the eyes, and caught glimpse of the faces of the missing team. Help, yes, he could help them. Make a difference in their lives. See their smiles. He could imagine the victory from here, the team looking at him again. You’re actually pretty cool, they’d say, or something to that regard.

The sound of someone else getting a questionnaire woke him from that daydream. No, he hadn’t succeeded. He was still here, in the meeting room, with the broken coffee machine in the corner and a messy stack of questionnaires on one of the desks. And with the Righthand standing in the same room.

“And sometimes, I can’t help but imagine the powerful people get all the credit for the good things,” he said quietly, treacherously when the Righthand was so near. “No matter what anyone else does.”

Nekorb sat quietly, looking around nervously at the people around him. They couldn't hurt him with Investiture... but they could hurt him in other ways.

Myriad ran though the doorway, wincing internally at how late she was. Black hair fell around her shoulders, and she wore good quality clothing - she’d wanted to make sure these people thought of her well, and in her experience, everyone reacted to looks first and any other information they learned second; at least in most cases. She hadn’t actually had the chance to see what the eye color of this woman was, as she’d Bolted into her while her back was turned.

Trotting up to the pretty woman who looked like she was in charge and born for the job, she said quickly, “I’m sorry, I know I’m late, but I was hoping to join ACE - this is the right room, right? It has to be, this is where everyone said it was. Anyway, I wanted to go down in the tunnels with the groups you’re sending.”

Kendul watched Myriad run into the room.

"Hm. I was wondering if you'd actually show up, or just get yourself impaled on a spike." He said dryly.
