WrathofaShardKitten Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 (edited) Kira followed Wita, smiling at the mention of a team name. "Maybe we could be TPWGAIADA, or the Clueless Bystanders, or the Trueseers. Actually, it would probably be better if someone else came up with the name." @Sorana Edited September 18, 2019 by Hope Spren Adding tags

I think I am here. he/him Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 (edited) “No, not a fairy,” Marcel said and the corner of his mouth quirked up in a smile. He remained silent as they discussed a team name, thinking of her words. She wouldn’t tell anyone, that was good, and he trusted her, for someone he’d met only this night. The bus came to a stop and he stood up, stepping out of the doors. “Thanks,” he said to the driver. “No worries, dude.” He looked to the whole group. “Just remember kids - stick it to The Man!” “O..kay,” Marcel said and turned to the others. Some people were odd, he’d found. England was an interesting and fascinating place, especially at a time like this. Even though he’d been staying here for quite some time, some things still never ceased to fascinate him. @Wyndlerunner @Hope Spren @Sorana @Dr. Dapper Edited September 19, 2019 by I think I am here.
+Sorana she/her Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 Wita had left the bus before Marcel, shook her head at the names. They all sounded strange. They needed something cool, something that made everybody remember them. With a sigh she let the topic slide and jumped in surprise, hid behind Lewis when the man suddenly shouted at Marcel. The man. She had no clue what is was supposed to mean and didn't really think about it either. She had never been in such a neighbourhood before she mused when she looked at the many houses. Most weren't exactly tal, gave home to a family, maybe two. Kneeling down next to a bush that had beautiful yellow leave she took a look at them, smiled when a little night-butterfly flew around them. She liked them, they weren't as colourful as day-butterflies, but instead more grey and brown. Still they were calm and quiet and flew through the night, always searching for the moon. When it flew away she stood up again, realized that the bus had driven away.
Eluvianii he/him Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 Lewis shot a confused look at the driver at the mention of 'The Man' and then gave a jolt of surprise when Wita hid behind him. That had been weird. He decided to let it go after a few seconds and looked at the scene before them. Just a bunch of houses, not that he expected anything else. He turned to Kira and Marcel. "So, which one are we looking for?"
WrathofaShardKitten Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 Kira shrugged, as she'd never actually seen the address, and waited for someone else to say something. For a moment, everything was silent. Then Kira spoke up again. "We could be the Aletheians, after the Greek goddess of truth."

Also, seeing that I am now a college student, and writing James is pretty time consuming, I will most likely take a brief Hiatus from Charles' role in the story.

Quote You mean is Aletheia a real Greek goddess? Yeah. I looked up the Greek goddess of truth and that's what I got.

WrathofaShardKitten Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 Quote Yeah, and that's why the internet is nice.
+Sorana she/her Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 Wita nodded happily. "Aletheians sounds good." She stepped next to her friends and lifted the wallet. "Here's the adress. His passport." Slowly she looked through the wallet until she found the card and then held it up. Looking around she tried to figure out where they were.
old man moomba he/him Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 Quinn sped down the road a few minutes after the others; he'd had to go get his car, and find his way around London, which was infinitely more confusing than any American city, he was sure. He parked his car across the street and hopped out, waving to the others, who were standing in front of a house, presumably the dead man's.
I think I am here. he/him Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 “There’s the mobster,” Marcel said, and waved back at Quinn. “So, you’re joining us?” He asked. “I should warn you, this little investigation of ours might take all night. No guarantee you’ll have enough time for whatever tasks you like to do for your gang.”

And he frightened her slightly. "We should go?" She asked quietly, and shifted her weight from one foot to the other. "Can I see the card?" he asked Wita.

WrathofaShardKitten Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 "Is it that one over there?" Kira pointed to a likely house, about three houses down from where they were. It seemed to be one of only two houses without any lights on inside.
Eluvianii he/him Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 "I think so." he gave the card back to Wita and started walking towards the house. "What dou you think we'll find there?" he asked the others.

Shadows, discos were everywhere. They seemed a trend that would never disappear. “Why did he venture near that other disco where we found him?” They neared the house, and Marcel looked to the group. “Do any of you know a way to break into someone’s house without getting caught?” He asked, realising they had no real way of entering.
WrathofaShardKitten Posted September 28, 2019 Posted September 28, 2019 "I've never tried it before," Kira said, shrugging. "Maybe one of my powers would be able to help, but I'm clean out of stormlight."
Bookish Ocelot she/her Posted September 28, 2019 Author Posted September 28, 2019 Quote I haven't been on here in a long time (THANKS, school) and so I'm going to go ahead and say Asger left for the train. It's around 4:00 am. totally not channeling More Happy Than Not. Brownie points for anyone who catches that reference. Asger walked towards the station. It was way too early for trains - at least for normal people, he supposed. He was far from normal, with the ability to store information in metal. Somewhat like one of those new hard-drive things. But small. What would his life have been like had he not discovered his ability? Had he not... Not what? He couldn't remember. There was probably a reason. He couldn't think of what it was. Was it that coin? Every time he tried to tap it, all he felt was loss, a gaping hole in his heart. It was probably better that he didn't know.
+Sorana she/her Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 (edited) Wita shrugged and started to search for a key. She had seen a series where the key was hidden outside and she felt like it couldn't hurt. The doormat, nothing there. A strange frog statue, nothing, the pots with the flowers were heavy, but she pushed them aside and there it was. With a triumphant grin she lifted the key into the air. Standing up, she unlocked the door and pushed it open. Edited September 30, 2019 by Sorana
Eluvianii he/him Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Lewis tried to think of something. Maybe Pushing the doorknob? But he didn't have an anchor and it would be really noisy. Kira said that she could be able to do something but. Stormlight? More new words. Click. Wita opened the door without effort. She had a key in her hand. "That'll teach me to overcomplicate things." he turned to Kira. "What is Stormlight by the way? Is that how you call lightning?"
I think I am here. he/him Posted September 30, 2019 Posted September 30, 2019 “That was... smart,” Marcel said and entered into the house. It was of a moderate size, indicating someone of the upper-middle class standard of living. Reaching his hand to a light switch on the inside wall next to the door, circular lights lining the ceiling flickered on. Marcel walked into the centre of the living room, scanning the abode. Though there was plenty of space, most of it seemed to be divided into a small number of rooms. A kitchen, master bedroom, basement, living room, and bathroom. “Should we split up?” He asked, turning to the rest of the group.

Stormlight looks kind of like lightning, but it's not. It's kind of . . . Well, hard to explain, for one thing. It's energy, but not like lightning, because lightning is electricity. Plus, we get lightning from the storms, but Radiants generate stormlight with time." Kira, aware that that didn't make any sense, took a deep breath and tried again. "It's like . . . Stormlight is the soul of the storm." She blinked, as though surprised by what she had just said, but continued with a bit more confidence. "It's spirit, it's life, it's spren, it's . . . light. Whatever you want to call it, really. It's what you would have if you took away all of the stuff of the storm. Without the thunder, rain, or even the lightning. It's the feelings you get while watching a thunderstorm, as well as what the storm is. Power, awe, majesty, fear, peace, a willingness to fight. "Stormlight comes from inside of Radiants because we hold the soul of the storm inside of us. We've promised to fight. To put life before death, strength before weakness, and journey before destination. Because we promised to act, we were given powers to act with. The stormlight, spren, and surges." "Sorry," Kira said a slight blush rising on her cheeks, "that was way more than you asked for. And I'm still not sure if it made any sense. I promise I'm not trying to be cryptic, it's just kind of difficult to explain." It probably didn't help that she'd never tried to explain it before. She looked over at Marcel when he suggested splitting up, and nodded, relieved. "Splitting up sounds good. I'll go that way," Kira said, gesturing towards the bedroom. 2
