So, uh, you're rping for Sorana? Did I miss the reason?

She has to go to a camp and wanted me to take over her characters for as long as she is gone (which is until August 5 iirc)

I already mentioned it, but I will be more or less gone for the rest of the week. I might check now and then via mobile, maybe write a post or two, but I definitely won't post here. Both Althea and Mike take some time to get right and hit their tone, especially in the current situation and I know I won't be able to do this during the next days.

Itiah agreed to take over my characters in this thread, and I tried to keep Althea more or less passive during my last posts, to gently remove her from the fight, so that I don't leave a large gap.

He rapped three times on the wall, and a small square opened, revealing a phone. He put it up to his ear, and spoke quickly. "Lodging request for sparing the Scholar's Guild. Full merits of John Redleaf committed."

He pushed the phone back in, and the square closed.

"The Vortex is... or rather, the Rift was, a rip in reality, reaching into the Void, originally, and later a mass of investiture drained from any power nearby. It pulled out creations, created at random by fortune, connection, investiture, and identity from all the different worlds. This led to mirror creations, which gave us things like replicas of the Unmade, the Mist, and the Darkwraiths. The Mist was an original Void creation, and incredibly powerful. It was released into the world, and will probably be back tommorow night, and every night after.

I'll have Aln ask; I wasn't clear on that either. Also, apologies for the formatting of my posts; my phone is difficult about these things.

Aln thanked him, then asked, "What exactly does this mist do? And why do you want it returning every night?"

The Mist is just like the mists on Scadrial, except a dark green, and more angular in it's patterns.

It can snap people if we gave it a large source of investiture, say an alleystorm during the night. This could create mistings, elantrians, epics, give people breath, etc. It plays on the Connection to your native planet. So if you were Alleyborn, you could give your character any of the above, as long as it's within your point values. If you're from Sel, you could become a Elantrian, if you're from Scadrial a misting or a ferring, if you're a Nalthian you could get yourself Returned if you die during it, if you're from the Reckonerverse it could artificially give you a small epic power. I'm probably missing some world. (And no, not Roshar, it doesn't create spren bonds)

But for the most part, it's just mist.

He paused. "It's like Scadrian mists, but it can give people power from all the different worlds. It's also a permanent monument to our power, cloaking the world in deep green each night."

No. They're Terken, as is the mandibles. They stop investiture.

Ambrosia, Tena texted her daughter-in-law, do you want me to come over? @RayOfSunshine

Ambrosia paused as her phone vibrated in her pocket. She decided to ignore it, in case Silas wasn't... Silas.

"Ambrosia, I haven't heard from Silas. Is he with you? Is he dead?" She kept the trembling in her chest minimal as she imagined Silas being dead. That... that couldn't happen. It wouldn't. Ambrosia knew where he was. She had to.

"Silas," she paused a second, and a bit of fear laced her voice as she spoke, "Is right here. He was injured, but he's here."

Tena breathed deeply for a moment, squeezing a few tears from her momentary panic out of her eyes and wiping them off her face. "Good. Can I speak to him?" While she waited for a response, she went to her texting app and texted Ani, Are you and Sol doing okay?

Tena nodded. I was worried about Silas for a minute, and I thought about you and her. Mom/wife worry sort of thing. So what've you been doing while I've been gone?

I've been playing a game of Solitaire.

...For how long? And what was Sol doing?

He paused.

Well, it was seven games. And I took a break to cook myself some steaks. And read a comic. And now I'm on the eighth game.

He clicked send, then sent another message stating she was asleep most of the time. The rest I put her in a walker, and gave her a toy dagger to play with.

Tena laughed and sighed, then stood and started pacing. You are a goofball. Play with Sol, alright? Also, what comic did you read?

Yuppers.

Tena grinned, and sent the emoji back at him. See you later. I'm going to figure out what I'm doing right now.

Say, Ene, Tena is probably wherever Deteca is right now. Where might that be?

Sharpe cried out as one of the tails wrapped around him, holding him upside down by the legs. He had managed to leap partway off of the leg before the tail caught him, probably the only thing that kept him from being totally surrounded by the tail. He tried to squirm out of the tail, but to no avail. Both of the tails impaled him straight through the stomach, causing  Shapre to gasp in pain. Stormlight was the only thing keeping him alive. He tried to slash the tail with his cloth, only to realize that it would not cut. As he swung down low to the ground, he used his remaining stormlight to melt the ground, shape a strong handhold, and then yanked. The tails slid out of his gut, and his feet from the tail holding him. He healed part of the way, enough to eradicate the poison, but there were still pretty heavy wounds in his stomach. He hobbled over to some of his men nearby, thankful that Tels was now up and distracting the beast. He prayed to the Almighty that those reinforcements Althea promised would come soon...

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Tels flew dizzily through the air, hoping to catch the beast by surprise as it attacked Sharpe. He had picked up a rather large shard of glass; this time, he would not miss the eyes. As the beast turned around towards Tels, he brought down the shard hard.

Sorry if this is too much of a godmod; I know Sharpe’s escape and near misses are pretty unlikely, so I can edit it if you need!

Aln made another mark in her notebook. "So, once you've conquered the Alleyverse, what's the plan? What's the Alleycity going to be like? What about the government?"

Talas snapped upright, gasping for breath. He was not wearing his leather armor, but was instead wearing a tattered white prison jumpsuit, along with green contact lenses. His body might not look the same, but he would do anything he could to hide that he was as different as he was, and thus he wore the green contact lenses. One of his chitin spikes was bothering him and he wasn't used to seeing thick, charcoal colored lines running through his body whenever he looked down. Wait, no, of course he was used to it! This was who Talost was, and Silas was already gone! But he couldn't be gone yet. Talost needed him.

A pulse ran through Talas' body, a internal ripple, starting from the center of his spike, echoing out through through his body, down to the fingertips and bouncing back. It was an alert, of sorts. It told him that his family was coming. His Father was coming, bringing more of Talost's family. Sent to kill.
