Atium futuresight to determine Hemalurgy bind points?

I don't think this would work. How would the shadow even look? I'm having a lot of trouble picturing it.

Anyway, atium, if it's a manifestation of Fortune, shows you the most likely future that you're going to experience. Not knowing what to do means it should show your victim just standing there looking puzzled.

Also, a large number of bindpoints are in the heart. I'm not sure how detailed the shadow would be, but it seems unlikely that you'd be able to get enough detail to figure out exactly where in the heart your spike is hitting.

I think duralumin fueled electrum would be your best bet.  (Sorry if this counts as necroing I’m not really sure what the threshold is).

If you burn atium with duriluminum you can see the ultimate consequences of your actions.  If you have enough atium you might be able to determine it.

I agree that using duralumin with either atium or electrum is probably the only way to do this, if it's possible at all.

Additionally, I highly doubt posting a new comment that adds information to a discussion which is less than a month old counts as necroing.

So the shadow shows the result of your attack as well right? I'm picturing focusing on the spike, and how well you can feel the spike with steel. If your ability to the steel line to the spike fades, that means the spike successfully tore off some investiture. But I'm not sure if you can sense the change in a shadow spike, plus atium seems to attack instinctively, so I don't know if you mentally choose a bunch of different attacks to see what happens to the shadow.

You can't see steel lines in atium shadows, though.

Are you tryign to watch your own shadow?  because i think that would be Electrum's job, not Atium's.  Atium shows you outside people/objects, not your own actions.

No, I was more picturing observing the person or a spike for a change. But as @RShara pointed out, I don't think there's anyway to actually be aware of a change in the spike from the shadows. Karger might be onto something with the duraluminum boosted Atium, but probably still wouldn't work.

there's also the issue that hemalurgy requires intent.  If you didn't know the bindpoints, I'm not sur you could actually make a spike, even if you hit everythign right

I like this statement; it would explain why a thousand years of hemalurgical research by TLR never succeeded in making any new hemalurgic constructs than those he saw how to make while Ascended.

As @blackout8444 said, the thread hasn't been dormant long enough for it to count as necroing, plus you added something useful to the discussion, which is always allowed.

Here's what the forum rules have to say about necroing:

Quote

On that same note, don't bring back topics that have been dead forever. This is called thread necromancy (or simply "necroing"). If after a long time you post something new in a topic--one whose discussion has long since ended--that would be thread necroing. We're going to be more lenient about this on the Brandon Sanderson forums, because if you have something to add in the "Mistborn Movie Casting" topic and there hasn't been a post there in a great while, why shouldn't you? You're adding something to the discussion, that's fantastic! A lot of the Books forums will have theory threads, and if you have something to add to them which just perfectly fits the topic, better to revive a dead thread, right?

Thread necroing is only bad in a case like this: let's say Mi'chelle and Josh post in General Discussion saying "We're married!" in a few months. Members will congratulate them, but what you don't want to do is post three months later a congratulation. The sentiment's nice, but at the same time, the news is outdated. Your post is itself outdated, which means it didn't really need to be said. It was superfluous and there was no need for you to post it. Does that make sense? That's why most forums hate thread necromancy, because it's superfluous posting. Essentially, spamming.
