+Ark1002 Posted April 20, 2019 Author Posted April 20, 2019 Five small drones, cloaked, left the tower. They flew towards the space marine ship, each holding a small pulsing blob. They set down, and began to burn in. @Grey Knight

There’s a bomb!” He shouted and immediately people yelled and ran in all directions, leaving a nice opening. “Let’s go,” he said, cutting through the gap he’d created.

The stage itself was almost empty, when space marines were invading no one really wanted to be in the centre of attention. Checking the wires connecting the microphone Alask looked to see for any separations in how the wires were attached. If he found one, he tried fixing it by pushing the two connectors together. “Did that work?” He called.

Lena started to turn and stopped, when her voice loudly came out of the speakers. "Uhm... hi!" She told whoever was listening, grinning again. Somehow this was funny, like something you would find in a movie. The hero stands on a stage to find his lost friend, while a large battleship was aiming its canons at the building. Heartwarming and dramatic. "So, we're looking for a guy called Nekorb. If you have seen him, just send him over! Nekorb, if you hear this, we're on the stage." Careful she switched the micro off again, handed it over to Alask with an exaggerated gesture. Now it was time for the lost friend to show up and walk to the hero and together they would ride into the sunset. Or something like that. "Are you hungry? I grabbed some of their food." She offered Alask a small cake. @xinoehp512 Edited April 20, 2019 by Sorana
Voidus Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 Laurelai looked towards the stage, raising a curious eyebrow at the pair who had temporarily commandeered it amidst the chaos. They didn't seem overly concerned about the giant ship overhead, or the marines who were still in the building.Powerful enough to be overconfident? Or allied with them? Or just plain crazy? Determining motivations was something that Laurelai tended to specialise in, but these were not exactly ordinary circumstances. She had too little information, to little of their history to come to an informed decision. Which meant she'd have to pull a little more out of them. She staggered her way towards the stage, allowing her eyes to widen a little in what might appear as surprise or fear as she looked towards them. "What are you doing?" She asked, adding a touch of hysteria to her tone. "Didn't you see?" She gestured vaguely overhead and then again to their surroundings, taking in the chaos that had broken out in the building. "You're just going to stay here and eat cake?" 1

Lena nodded, smiled at the panicked looking woman staggering towards the stage. She knew that face, but had a hard time placing it right now. "Oh we plan to leave soon. But he's looking for a friend, so we're just waiting for him to show up. Hopefully he's around here somewhere." Hopping down the stage she offered the woman some cake. "It's good. These people here obviously hired a master cook. Cake of this quality is rare." Edited April 20, 2019 by Sorana

She offered Alask a small cake. “Thanks,” Alask said, taking the cake and eating a bite out of it. A woman came to ask them questions and Alask let Lena take care of it, looking back at the mike. He looked up from his vantage point on the stage. People were in chaos, trying to leave. The least he could do was help them. Taking advantage of what he could see from the stage, he took the microphone and turned it on again. “Okay, everyone, um, you might be confused how exactly you leave this place,” he paused to look ahead from his high ground. “There’s, uh, three exits, from the looks of it, no, four, there’s one hiding in the corner. So, yeah there’s one exit on the north side, another is the...” and he continued, rattling off whatever exits he could see and their locations, hopefully making it easier for those stuck in the middle. “I guess we just wait, now,” he said, turning off the microphone though there was a nervous undertone in it.
Voidus Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 One of the two, the woman who'd spoken into the microphone, stepped down and held out the cake to Laurelai who stared at it for a moment before switching her gaze and staring incredulously at the woman. So probably a little crazy at least, but mostly just confident? It seemed that the two of them weren't directly involved in matters, or if they were they seemed to be planning to escape anyway which didn't exactly bode well. Her interest in them faded a little as the other began guiding people towards the exits, perhaps they were just naive, truly wishing to brave danger just to see that their friend was safe. "Do you know what's happening?" She asked, ignoring the cake. "There were all those announcements then something that sounded like an explosion and now..." She looked around helplessly. "Now everything's kind of chaos."Though it did seem like that took a little longer than most parties take to erupt into chaos.

Because Crow captured some of the Acutes, and now Azrael brought his marines to capture Crow." Lena looked at her again, finally realizing where she had seen her. The tavern, and later here at the party. "You're a friend of Lita's, aren't you? I'm Lena." She hastily changed the cake to her other hand, wiped it on her pants and offered it to Laurelai.

Which was good. “Guilds, to helmore with them,” Alask muttered. “Always messing things up.”
Voidus Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 "You're a friend of Lita's, aren't you? I'm Lena." Laurelai's eye twitched slightly in irritation as Lena held out a hand, being recognised was something she'd have preferred to avoid, but she had no doubts that whoever was running the show had already made note of all those attending so hiding her identity completely was likely a lost cause at this point. "Laurelai." She replied, smiling nervously. "And yes, I'm a friend of Lita's, she seems to have managed to find her own way out thankfully."They care about their friend, lean into that, develop some empathy. "I hope she manages to get out safely, I think they would have made it out before that thing arrived but who knows what they're capable of?" If the Marines really were just here for revenge against a single target then they'd probably be ignoring everyone else so the others should be safe, but people like this would probably still express concern in spite of that. 2

Lena only laughed at the words. She doubted the marines cared for anybody but crow. Otherwise they wouldn't have warned those attending the party. "It's good that Lita is safe, but then, given her new accessoires," Lena tapped her arm at the place where she had seen Lita's spikes, "I expected her to get away without trouble." She continued to smile at Laurelai, the streets were full of stories about those ruling the alleys. And Lena liked stories, true or exaggerated. Her eyes stayed on Laurelai's face, looked for some kind of reaction. Edited April 20, 2019 by Sorana
+ZincAboutIt she/her Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 Lita stood two blocks away from the PlasmaCore building, watching the giant sky ship and doing her best not to panic. ”We left Laurelai,” she said to Okame. “We just left her there!” She’d sent Lita an Alleycant message indicating they head back to the Alleys, which meant she probably wasn’t dead. That was good, because if she was dead then it was probably Lita's fault. She didn’t want to think about what her punishment might be for a failure like that. Out of habit, Lita’s hand strayed to the coin. She took it out, staring at its face as though she expected it to do... something. It had gone back to the scales again, and it had regained its unnatural coldness. She resisted the urge to throw it at the Horneater, instead sliding it back into her pocket. She’d puzzle over it’s odd behavior later. Lita took out her pen next. Out safe, heading back to the Alleys now. Need help? I might be able persuade Okame to go back for you. Also, sorry. Lita grimaced at the lukewarm apology, but slipped her pen back into her pocket anyway. She gave a single, sharp sigh. “Come on,” she said to Okame, walking towards a nearby alley. “Follow me exactly, and remember, don’t stare into the sky. And try not to burn any holes in anything.” @Invocation @Voidus 2
