"Did you see some stairs leading downward?"

She asked Renata, doubting that she missed something like that, but you never knew.

@ZincAboutIt

Renata shook her head at the question, thoughts racing. "Only the ones leading up, but you never know with houses like this. There could be a cellar door somewhere, but I'm stormed if I know."

Lighteyes and their absurd houses, Renata thought, cursing herself for one of the Ten Fools. The other two women cowered with her as the house continued to shake, and the girl in her arms whimpered a bit.

"Brightlord!" she called to the Shardbearer. "If this house collapses, we may need you to cut a way out. Get over here!" @Ark1002

Ordinarily, Renata would have been mortified at her casual tone towards a man of his rank, but she had no time for it now. Fear later, she thought, repeating the words that had urged her onwards up the slopes of the Horneater Peaks. Fear later, fear later...

Tish was watching everything begin to turn into mist when a girl a bit older than her (I think) ran into her and pulled her out into the hallway. Instinctively she tried to resist at first, but soon she realized that it would be better to follow her out. This girl definitely seemed to know what she was doing.

At some point the girl said something about the house coming down because of a "high storm." That sounded bad. Tish was about to speak, but before she could she was interrupted by an older woman coming over to talk to the first girl. I should really learn these people's names eventually. Later.

If I recall, Tish is ~15 and Renata is 20. So she'll look rather older I think.

Ah, my bad. I just assumed from "hobbled" that she was old because I didn't want to spend too much time tracking down your character sheet. I'll edit it in a moment.

It's fine. She just got injured and her leg never healed properly.

But she can seem old/ worn out to Tish. Because that's definitly true.

Stuff's turning into mist. That's all I caught.

Aderet stayed near the others. The best way to avoid trouble, her governess had always said, was to avoid trouble, but if you are in trouble, then make sure you never are left alone. What was happening could only be described as trouble and she was awful at dealing with trouble by herself.

Lisa started breathing quickly, panicking at quakes the sight of things turning to mist. Quickly she started looking around for a way downstairs or outside.

Mist. Things were turning to Mist.

“The Sovereign,” Wilhelm whispered, stepping towards where the logs had been, now just a cloud of mist.

But, what would the Sovereign think of Wilhelm. A cannibal. Even if a recovering one, would he be disgusted? Wilhelm gasped. But he’d done it all to survive! He’d been forced to, by nature.

But that was the first time. What of all the people he’d hunted, caught in his traps? He hadn’t been forced by anything to do that except for maybe his own twisted hunger.

So, the Sovereign was trying to kill him.

“I agree, the cellar sounds alright,” Wilhelm mumbled as he quickly stepped towards the rest of the group. Strength in numbers? It seemed the most risky tactic when you were being hunted. Either all of you died, or most of you survived. But it was far better odds than facing his god alone.

After everyone tried to go upstairs, the doorman from earlier came down and saw everyone. Hellbent had summoned his Shardblade, but then dismissed it. People asked what was happening with all the thunderous sounds, and the doorman was trying to placate everyone. Now, the house is shaking and things are dissolving into mist. My best guess here is that reality is kind of coming apart? Wild guess but that's what I'm going with.

@Blessing of Potency

Renata let go of the younger girl and started motioning for the rest of the guests to crowd under the crossbeam in the hallway.

This won't make a bit of storming difference if the crossbeam turns to mist, she thought, but forced that out of her mind. She would not die here, in this ridiculous house. She would not

"Do you see a cellar door somewhere?" she called to the man in the puffy coats, who was still across the room. "Someplace where we can all fit?"

@I think I am here.

Given the number of people looking for it, a few seconds later someone will find a cellar door leading onto a set of wooden steps heading down into what appears to be a wine cellar.

Arundhati was distracted by food when the thing she was about to eat turned into mist. This snapped her back to reality and the chaos that was going on. She hears Rentana yell something and looks around to see her underneath a crossbeam. That’s probably a good idea. Arun runs over to stand next to Retaba.

“What in the Lord Rulers name is happening?” She asks in a panicked voice.

"We don't know."

Lizanne replied, her voice calm, despite her growing fear. She continued to look around and then she froze. A door, close to where the servants had brought some food in. Or at least rather close, whatever. She hesitated, afraid to leave this possible spot of safety, but then she cursed at herself, stared at the door grabbed whatever courage she could find and took a first step. As fast as she could she hobbled over and pressed the handle, pulled. It didn't move.

"Anybody knows where the door leads?"

She shouted to all of them and at the same time at noone. She tried again, her hand shaking from fear, her body tense. Everytime she heard something she ducked, expected everything to fall down on her head the next second.

Renata watched Lizanne lurch towards a small door, attempting to pull it open.

"Anybody know where this door leads?" The woman called, cringing at every sound.

The house continued to creak and groan. A chair in the sitting room toppled, then puffed into mist before it could hit the ground.

"Almighty help me," Renata whispered, then tightened the straps on her pack and ran over to where Lizanne was struggling. The building gave a particularly violent shudder, throwing Renata against the door. It sprung inwards, nearly sending Renata and Lizanne tumbling down a set of stone stairs. The meager light spilling down revealed the dull shine of dusty glass.

A wine cellar. Bless the Heralds.

"Everyone get down here now!" Renata called, watching as the panes of glass in one of the front windows cracked under the strain of the wall. One of the top beams supporting the window had dissolved.

She darted down, not waiting for the others, then set her back against a corner and began feeling around in her pack for a sphere or two. Her fingers found one, and as she pulled out the diamond mark a weak silvery light illuminated the wine cellar and cast everything into eerie shadow.

Lizanne yelped in surprise when Renata stumbled into her and the door. Finally that stupid thing opened and she managed to hold on to the handle to avoid falling them down completely. Before she had regained her footing, Arun already rushed past her, followed by the guy with his Shardblade. Lizanne got to her feet and followed them hastily down, down was good, hopefully down was safe.

Her leg ached by the time she'd reached the bottom of the stairs, stairs hurt and attempting to run hadn't made things better. With a groan she streched it, then looked around. Renata had a sphere in her hand, lightening up the room and Lizanne looked up, at the ceiling, tried to see if it was made of stone, or wood, if it was moving, if there were any holes or anything else that might indicate it's stability. Down here could be safe, but it also could be a death-trap.

How does the ceiling look like?

Lisa saw everybody go down the stairs, and quickly ran after them. She quickly scrambled down the stairs, nearly tripping halfway down the stairs. Just about managing not to fall, she arrived at the bottom, and started looking around with a scared look, trying to see how safe it was, and making sure there was nothing weird hidden in the shadows.

Fah'loofah eagerly joined the group but didn't make any noise so that they wouldn't know she was ever there. She quietly eased her way past them, finding the deepest, darkest corner of the cellar to hide in.

The drumstick man was nowhere to be seen, and she didn't pause a moment to think of why everyone was hiding in a cellar. She did find a barrel, though. That was cool. She took a seat on it, completely covered in shadow, and she put her hand over her mouth to make sure that no sounds escaped her lips.

Is your plan here to go and scare Lisa? Because in that case, this will certainly work, and it's going to be amazing.

Aderet took her time going down the stairs, picking up her dress in case there was dust on the floor. They appeared to be in a wine cellar.

"Anyone else think it odd that this is what's down here?" she said. "We aren't exactly in the part of the city that deals with producing alcoholic beverages."

Spadeus Jack quietly followed behind the group. No one seemed to have noticed him yet. Standing in the back was always an advantage for him. Better for one of them to trigger a trap then him.
