+ZincAboutIt
Renata woke with a start as someone screamed her name. Brain muddied with sleep, she moved automatically, sliding her arms into her pack and scrambling up the stairs. Her hand was on her boot knife before she'd fully come awake; the little snick! of the blade leaving its sheath sounded oddly loud in the cool, misty night. She tumbled out of the door, knife in hand, to find Lizanne screaming and cowering in front of Lisa. There was something in the fire, something large. It smoked and sizzled, filling the air with the smell of cooking meat. "What's going on!" Renata shouted, mind immediately going to the eye in the journal. She ran toward the fire. "Is it the creature? Did you--" Her words died in her throat as she saw what, exactly, lay sizzling in the fire. It was the quiet girl, the one Renata had pulled under the crossbeam as the mansion had started to collapse. She had been stabbed with the horrific, neat precision only managed by one kind of weapon. Her flesh steamed and popped on bed of coals, and her hair had begun to catch fire. Renata felt her stomach twist, and she leaned over and retched onto the floor. She took a shaky step, wiping her mouth, then sheathed her boot knife and grabbed one of Tish's feet, dragging the girl's corpse out of the fire. She stumbled back, mind reeling. "Who did this?" A foolish question. There was only one person here with a Shardblade. Still, she asked. @Sorana Edited May 16, 2019 by ZincAboutIt

None of them could stand against him. She grabbed Renatas arm and dragged her behind her as well. It was a useless gesture, if he wanted to, he'd kill them all with a swipe of his blade. She drew her knife and stood her ground, not retching, not looking away. She had seen worse, had smelled worse, but the memories were there, slowly surfacing. Survive, then you can try to comprehend what happend. But for now she had to survive. And the only thing he repected as strength. @Ark1002

kenod
Lisa woke up from Lizanne's screaming, and rolled out of the curtain she used as a blanket. Grabbing the spear she'd made she stood up, trying to focus. She looked in the direction lizanne and Renata were facing, and saw Hellbent, and the burning corpse of Tish. Her mind went blank for a second, until the the panic settled in. She saw the way he stood, and instinctively knew he would kill them. "We've got to run," She whispered in a panicked tone. "Now!"

Fatebreaker
At that moment the eye reappeared, this time fully visible to everyone. It had no iris, and the pupil was rectangular, like a horrific goat. The eye appeared to be looking through a tear in reality, but nothing more of the entity could be seen. It's baleful gaze seemed focused on the glowing shardblade. It shifted it's attention to the blade's wielder, and the reddish light emanating from it intensified, bathing Hellbent in it's reddish light. Hellbent felt something caressing his mind, an internal warmth that seemed to build within him. He was hungry. So very hungry. And there was food right here in front of him. The girl he had just killed, meat freshly butchered. He felt his body lurch forward, as if it had a mind of it's own, reaching for the burning corpse.
kenod
Quote And thus, all active male characters (and half of the total number) became cannibals. Also, given Wilhelm's past, I'd say now is a good time to start running.
+Sorana
Quote Not only the male characters, but also all of those who are able to fight. Well, our characters will have to outsmart them with their female charm. Given the part where Lizanne can't run I suppose she could start walking away. If Wilhelm wants to follow we could always state, that he still can see us. I simply don't want to split the group without giving everybody a chance to decide which group to follow.
+ZincAboutIt
At the sight of the eye, Renata froze, watching with fascinated horror as its ruddy gaze fixated on Hellbent. Then, the man turned and began reaching for Tish's corpse, the look in his eyes unmistakable: terrible, ravenous hunger. "Oh storms," Renata whispered, reaching down very slowly to draw her boot knife again. Hellbent was terrifying, but he was only a man. That eye, though. It seemed to peer through a slit in the darkness, like something had plucked at a seam in the world and opened a hole. What would happen when the rest of the seam unraveled, letting whatever belonged to that eye step through? "We need to get out of here," she whispered hoarsely. "Just - just try not to let look at you. Move slowly." @Sorana @kenod

Her eyes stayed with the monster. Edited May 16, 2019 by Sorana
+ZincAboutIt
Renata backed away slowly, mind racing. She had her sphere bundle in her pack for light, a small bottle of the white liquor, and some food, along with what they'd gathered from the dead. Hardly enough to live on, she thought, not taking her eyes off that one red eye. But better than dying here. Hellbent was tearing into Tish's flesh like a mad dog, bathed in a halo of that garish red light. Oh Almighty, let it be satisfied with Hellbent. Whatever it wants, let it pass us over. She edged them towards a pile of rubble, placing one foot behind the other with deliberate silence. Once they were out of direct view, they'd run. Unless there are more of them. Renata banished the thought, squeezing her left hand inside its leather glove. One thing at a time. Fear is for later. Fear is for later.
kenod
Lisa slowly backed away, only the presence of Lizanne and Renata keeping her from panicking and running away. She kept her spear pointed towards Hellbent and the Eye, the tip shaking. She glanced behind herself, making sure nothing would trip her up or make noise. 49 minutes ago, Sorana said: Quote Not only the male characters, but also all of those who are able to fight. Snipexe
Jack woke with a start to the sound of screaming emanating from above. It echoed down the cellar reverberating for an unnaturally long time. He climbed to his feet, pulling the shard of glass from his pocket, ignoring the pains of the blood on his fingers. The fire above was flickered, dimming. He ran up the stairs, crawling as often as running. Whatever was going on up there was bad. He created the stairs to the see the most horrific, terrible sight. The large man was tearing into the flesh of a human body, the others watching. Feeling the bile rise into his mouth, his grip tightening on the glass shard, Jack sprinted to the cannibal. He shoved him off the body, and stabbed him in the face, aiming for the eye.
