Arun nods, taking the piece of wood and putting it in her mouth.

No problem. Btw, is Arun wearing a skirt or jeans? Since if the glass has gone through clothing the clothing will need to be removed first.

Renata took the pan of wine and carefully poured it over Lisa’s hands first, then Aderet’s. She looked over at Arun.

”It’s not so terrible,” she said quietly. “I’ve had wounds stitched before. And like we said - may not even be needed.”

She tried to smile, but it probably came out as a grimace. Try as she might, she couldn’t keep from looking off into the darkness behind Arun, searching for that eye.

Watching? The Doctor had underscored that word time after time. How many hours had he spent feeling exactly as she did now: tense, unsure, afraid? They’d never know, now.

Lisa brushed aside Arun's skirt, making sure she had a clean view of the wound. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself and stop her hands from shaking. Then she put one hand below the wound, and grabbed the shard with her other hand. "Sorry,"  she said in an apologetic tone. She then pulled the shard out in as straight a line as she could manage.

Wilhelm accepted the shoes, and finally what wine he had distilled and altered was now water, albeit with a slight alcoholic tinge to it, but still enough to keep them from dying of thirst for the night and the subsequent day. Holding the bottle of slightly alcoholic water he went down to where Arun was having her leg wound stitched and he sat.

“I have water,” he said.

A day? After that we can probably just say that she screamed a lot and let Po fill in Arun's viewpoint after we're done.

Yes please. I’ll probably get to this this weekend

Alright. Btw, what kind of pain tolerance does Arun have? That way I know how much she should scream.

She has a... alright pain tolerance. Quite a bit of screaming.

Alright, thanks.

Lisa winced as she heard Arun's scream. Throwing the shard of glass away she picked up the cup with alcohol, little bits sloshing over the sides as her hands shook. Taking a deep breath she slowly poured the alcohol across the wound, trying to ignore the stifled screams coming from Arun, while putting as much force as she could in the hand holding down her leg to stop it from moving, trying to make sure she wasted as little alcohol as possible, making sure she cleaned the whole wound.
She turned to Renata. "Can you slowly pour the water over the wound?" She asked. "We need to make sure it's completely clean. After that, can you pour some over my hands? I need to wash them again."

Renata picked up the little pan again, forcing herself to remain calm despite Arun's screaming. She poured a small, steady stream of water onto Arun's wound, and when it seemed clean she poured more over Lisa's outstretched hands until the liquid ran off clear instead of red.

There won't be a thing for half a mile that won't hear her screaming, Renata thought. Though, if that red eye was still out there somewhere, danger was already here and waiting for them.

"Do you think she'll need stitching?" She asked Lisa.

'Not sure," Lisa said, trying to sound calm. "I'll need to see how much it's bleeding." She pressed her hands around the wound, trying to close it and keep pressure on it, to see how much blood would leak out if a bandage was wrapped around it.

Can someone tell me how much it's bleeding?

It's gonna be pretty bad now that the shard has come out, I don't really have a good metric to describe it by but it's gonna be bleeding quite a lot.

"That's a lot of blood. Do you think you should sew it shut?"

Lizanne ask unfazed by the wound. She'd seen worse and she was growing tired. Once this was over they would have to sleep. She'd already seen a good spot, that offered some protection and now she a knife as well. If they decided to attack her, her chances were better than before.

Lisa took a deep breath, trying to focus again. "What did you say?" she asked, sounding distracted. "Sewing the wound shut? Yes, you're right, we should probably sew it."
She turned to Aderet. "Can you get started?" She asked in a soft tone. "I'll hold the wound shut for you."

She nodded and picked up the needle and piece of thread with her right hand. She paused a moment before rolling back her left sleeve. Seeing her exposed hand was a little unnerving for her despite being Scadrian, but she forced her attention back to the task at hand.

The thread was coarser than she was accustomed too, but then again, not everyone could afford silk. She threaded the needle, keeping her hands as steady as possible. To value-maximize she knotted only one end - single thread stitches would probably work better.

Just like quilting. Just joining two layers together. Aderet thought to herself as her gaze drifted back to Arun's wound. Nothing you can't do.

She knelt down and started to work as carefully as possible.

Just like quilting.

Wilhelm saw the cut, he saw the glass shard pulled out and Arun defenceless, like a poor seal. And this cut, all this blood. Wilhelm kept silent while the wound was being sewed shut. He was improving, he hadn’t been able to control his urges before.

“She will still need a crutch,” he said.

Don't you quilt with three layers? The patchwork, the thicker filling and the bottom? At least I do it like that.

"She has one."

Lizanne replied, now and then looking over her shoulder.

"When we're done here, we should go downstairs, sleep a bit."

Probably. You know that stuff better. Last time I quilted was a year ago, and trust me, lots went wrong.

A really good quilt is incredibly difficult. I'm never really satisfied with mine...

"Hellbent offered to watch."

She told him, in case he had missed it earlier. She wasn't comfortable with him watching, but then she trusted none of them completely.

"We don't have a choice. We need to sleep. Otherwise we'll make mistakes, or fall asleep without some kind of shelter."
