Ben was too distracted by his book to hear the knock, but Glint knew him well enough to inform him that someone was at his door.

”It’s open!”

He called. Normally he would have opened it himself, but he didn’t think that he was able to walk all the way over there.

Shana slowly opened the door, smiled at him. He was reading, that was a good sign.

"Good morning."

Walking over she sat on his bed, reached out for his hand.

"How are you?"

I was thinking of Cassie's thing, but both work.

Ah, gotcha.

"Morning Leona!" James replied with a wave and a smile. Though he couldn't help but worry about Cassie, and her curse. Storms, I hope she's okhe thought,

That one? The Nightwatcher snorted haughtily, If I had such power, I would have refused her request. She asked something forbidden by our deepest laws. She will not grow from this, she will regress. It is as if I had to prune a mere sapling. The spren sighed A tree grown would survive such a pruning, and be stronger for it, but I fear I have permanently stumped her growth.

Oh my goodness, the mood here. This is the sass I couldn’t capture. And yet it’s so true. Sorry, Nightwatcher, I had to torture my character :P

Eating her apple in the corner, Cassie observed the scene tiredly. I should find some Stormlight to wake me up, she thought, then, and to practice with. She had new Surges now; she could do that. Bubbles of excitement pressed into her chest from the inside.

Shana smiled at him as well, only looked at him for a moment.

"Evelyn is looking for you. Do you feel up to take a look at her?"

She asked hesitantly, didn't want him to feel obligated. He looked exhausted.

"Right now I have one question, what happened last night? And by that I mean what did you see, because I already know somethings hiding the truth from me." Ashyln says, following Rob.

@I think I am here.

She hadn’t seen all of it. It made sense, because Sha-Theoxis did that to people who weren’t Radiants. But, it also showed her grip wasn’t foolproof on people’s minds. Opening the door to the room he entered and sat pm his mattress, looking at her. It was good she asked him. Rob was good at getting straight to the facts, no beating around the bush.

“There are Voidbringers. They are evil. They look like normal people except with red eyes. The less they look human, the stronger. They tried to kidnap Ben and Shana. We saved them and killed a few. They can shoot lightning, and have a plant thing that enhances their powers.”

He took a breath.

“We are the Knights Radiant. We inhale stormlight,” he gestured to a sphere of stormlight next to him. “And it powers us. We’ve got a variety of abilities we can use.” He blinked again. “I hope that helped,” he said earnestly.

“With lots of stormlight, yes.”

He replied immediately. He was dead tired, but Evelyn had gotten hurt fighting to free him. Her injury was his fault, and therefore he was responsible for fixing it.

"Don't hurt yourself."

She asked him and was about to stand up, to offer him her arm, when she looked at him again. He seemed exhausted. Really exhausted. And yet he would fight, just like she did. Their battles were different, but the determination the same. He would never allow for someone to die while he could help. Shana threw her arms around his neck and buried her face in his shirt, her throat constricting, when she was reminded how close it had been.

"You can't die."

She told him.

"You can't. Never, not like yesterday at least."

Ben wrapped his arms around Shana, hoping he was comforting her somewhat. She sounded like she was about to cry and he hated that he was the cause of that. He nodded, then realized that she couldn’t see that. He wasn’t sure what to say, hadn’t been in a situation like this before.

”I... I’ll try my best.”

He felt terrible for giving an answer like that but he didn’t want to lie to her. With everything that had been happening lately, he honestly didn’t know if he would survive the next day. The Voidbringers has taken casualties, so that meant that, at some point, the Radiants would have to too.

Shana nodded, wordlessly closed her eyes. He would try. She nodded again, clung to him.

"I love you Ben."

She tried to say, forced her tears back. It work for a breath or two, then she gave up, started to sob quietly. He would understand. He had to.

"I killed them. Humans. Voidbringers. And I would do it again. I'm a murderer. And I'm not even allowed to drive a car ."

Eventually, she's more thinking along the lines of shooting voidbringers in the head. At least right now.

“Shana, you are not a murderer. You are a warrior. There’s an important difference there. You never kill only to benefit yourself. You kill to protect others. Every time you fight Voidbringers you save countless innocent lives in exchange for a corrupted few. I know it must be hard. I’m not sure I would have the strength to do what you do. But Shana, the Dustbringers, The Knights Radiant, are lucky to have someone as strong and capable as you.”

He held her close.

”I love you.”

Well, I guess I should have read that post through twice. *facepalm* I forgot how much of this fandom is teenagers.

I wonder how much cake has been mentioned in this thread.

"Well, I can," exclaimed Leona. "But pancakes contain cake in the name, so it's close enough. Also, I swore my third oath earlier!"

Flid blinked. Was that what had caused Bliss to act so strange? The thought reassured him, and he stopped worrying about it.

"Congratulations! That's awesome, does that mean you can use a shardblade now?"

Would spren act strange?

"I suppose. I also summoned a cake." She gestured to her t-shirt, which said 'Make Cake Not War.' "Though I guess this shirt doesn't really work, because I'm also a deadly warrior."

DID SOMEONE SAY BAKERY

And we are doing a timeskip, that's decided.

Cassie perked up. "That's so cool, Leona, congrats." Should I tell them what I did last night?

"They won't understand."

She whispered.

"Those without magic. They will never understand and put me in jail instead."

Getting up, she offered him her hand. A warrior. She was a warrior. The thought helped, compared her to a hero, instead to a villain. He was right. She had a reason. And suddenly she wondered if a reason was enough. This was reality, no fantasy game. There were laws, processes to be followed. She wasn't allowed to decide who had to die. Nobody had the right to take another ones live. It was what society was based on. Absently minded she extended a hand towards him.

"Let's go to Evelyn?"

Doc covertly sucked in some Stormlight and tried to summon just the gauntlet of his Shardplate. It worked, and a glowing outline of each plate in the gauntlet appeared, before burning fully into exsistence.

However, the gauntlet was just really heavy and nearly fell off before Doc clenched his fist. "Storm it!" he muttered, "No cool 'punching you with the the Plate guantlet' attacks then."

“Sure.”

Ben took Shana’s hand and let her pull him up. Her was still worried about her, but she didn’t seem to want to talk about it anymore. He managed to stand without his legs shaking, but he had to lean on Shana quite a bit to do so. He tried to act as strong as possible- he didn’t want her to be worried. Seeing her cry had broken something inside of him.

Shana tried to take as much of his weight as she could without embarressing him and then helped him down the stairs. James, she needed to talk to James, or Karger? Philosophy. Rob.

A grin touched her face. Not Rob, although he would probably love that discussion.

Stepping into the kitchen she offered Ben a stool and then turned to all of them, not leaving Ben's side.

"Anybody here minding a discussion? I've got something on my mind and I need as many opinions as I can get."
