I’m not sure. The question is, since they’re going to find out eventually, do we want it to be now?

I'm fine with everything. All of it offers rp possibilities. I simply want to have some general consensus for a step that large.

We're really noncommittal today. *she says while Leona sets things on fire* One poll coming right up.

Edit: I think they'd be able to see the spren, but would try to rationalize it away as much as possible?

The way it works is that they notice effects of magic, think 'huh, that's odd' and then forget about it. As time goes on and the deterioration escalates, people will be slower and slower to dismiss things.

Wait, since when have they forgotten about it? I don't remember that. (It's working on me)

Well, I think the poll is clear.

As nothing happened to Sha'Theoxis I'll lay the seeds for them to realize what it is, so that after we did something to her, they will understand completely. It will also soften the transition a bit. I hope this is alright for everybody.

Agent Miller froze. He stared at the table, at the burning sheets of paper, at the cake. Cake. A sleight of hand. It had to be. Same as the papers. With some quick fingers, you could pretend to be a mage, but instead you had - quick fingers.

"Magic."

He stated tonelessly and continued to stare at the cake.

"Magic."

He repeated and then shook his head. It wasn't possible. Looking at Eiss he slightly shrugged, then turned back at the youths.

"So to sum up -", his voice shook slightly, "Demons tried to kidnap your friends and you saved them with.... magic."

The word tasted strange in his mouth.

"I see."

Without saying another word he finished his notes. He had all of it on camera. He would have to check the tapes, then he could form an opinion.

"Is there anything else you would like to add?"

The police officer shook his head.

"Don't worry, young man. the doctors assured me, that you will be fine."

He closed his ledger.

"You and your friends may go home. We will compare your explanations to those of the others, and then come back to you, if we need to clarify some points."

He handed Rob and James his card, then they turned around and left.

Shana looked at the door after he left and then sighed.

"He's right, we should go home. Ben and I will be able to recover there better. A - known environment can do wonders."

“Yeah. I think that we have... everything we need for a swift recovery at home.”

Ben has almost slipped and mentioned stormlight. He didn’t dare do so with the nurse in earshot, though.

Works for me.

Eiss simply stared at the fire, speechless.

Cassie tried not to bury her face in her palms. We got brought to the police station for questioning, then Leona does this. We might've just revealed all of Investiture to the authorities. My uncle is going to flay us.

"Just let me know if you need anything." James said with a smile on his face, as he offered Ben a hand to help him up.

Hesitantly Ben took James’s hand, dubious if getting up was a good idea. He could fix any damage with stormlight, though, so the worst he could do was experience a little pain. Carefully he sat up. It felt like he had been stabbed again, maybe with a slightly smaller knife. He ignored it and stood all the way up, only staying on his feet by leaning heavily on James. This time it felt like someone had stabbed him with an even smaller knife, except it had been heated in a fire.

“Owwww.”

James gave a start, and looked Ben over, concernedly. "What's wrong?" he asked, hoping that he could alleviate the pain somehow.

“It’s just my side.”

He said, gesturing at the bandage.

”Turns out stab wounds, expectedly, hurt quite a lot.”

Evelyn had started to raise her hand again when Leona set the papers on fire. She jumped back, sending a stab of pain through her back and head and knocking her chair over. She stared at the flames. How had they gotten there? The light hurt her eyes, but she couldn't look away.

Suddenly, the flames were gone, replaced with a piece of cake. Leona. She took a shaky breath, and looked up as she realized that one of the police officers had spoken.

"Is there anything else you would like to add?"

"I . . ." What had she been going to say? "Did you need me to describe the person I hit?"

So, I was planning on having Twinlke lose it a bit and show herself to the officer, buuut that would make things go even faster so I'm asking if it would be alright with you guys.

I'm fine with that personally, but I don't know whether or not she'd be able to show herself.

Well, I was thinking it may be possible since the veil seems to be lifting a bit, but it may still be impossible, so that's another reason why I'm asking.

James cracked a wry smile, "Tis but a flesh wound." he quoted, hoping to make his friend laugh.

“Your arm’s off!”

He replied, chuckling, then wincing.
