Flid was silent, for he had been about to start reading The Wheel of Time and would appreciate IF NO ONE SPOILED IT.

Can't tell if Flid is just really annoyed, or if that's a super passive-aggressive hint to not spoil it for you actually

And then, out of nowhere in more than one way, there were people surrounding us. Ben and Shana fell together like magnets; I smiled a little, then smiled a lot when James said he hadn't expected me but wasn't disappointed. At least I'm not a disappointment to one person. Then again, he's been here like a day?

"Aye aye, sir," Ax said, smiling and ruffling Jace's hair.

He smiled, blushing slightly and snuggling closer to him, starting to read and ignoring the hair that got in his face. Ax liked it, liked the color too. He hadn't dyed the red strands in years, and he kept it a bit longer than most guys. He liked it when Ax played with it. He focused on the book, forgetting the world.

Ax smiled and started scratching Jace's head like he would a dog's.

Jason snorted, smiling and letting him do whatever he wanted. He kept reading. Honestly, with how much Ax liked dogs, the head-scratching was a compliment, and he enjoyed it.

Ax kept at it until he fell asleep again.

Jason smiled, setting down the book and pulling Ax's head into his lap, smiling happily and gently running his fingers through his hair.

Ben wrapped his arms around Shana, holding her close, making sure that she was real, that he was real. Shana was alive. She wasn’t hurt, wasn’t dying. She was fine.

“How did you find me?”

James replied for her and she hid her face against Ben's shoulder, held on to mind. She could hear some of the others arrive as well, knew she should worry how to get out of it, but for now it was enough to stand here and hold him close.

"I killed them all in my dream, and you left me."

She told him quietly and then slowly relaxed in his embrace.

“Shana, neither of us would ever do those things. I will never leave you. My dream...”

He trailed off, uncomfortable. He didn’t usually talk to people about this sort of stuff. But this was Shana. He could tell her anything. He continued in a whisper.

“My dream was watching you die, being taken away from me, without my being able to do a single thing about it. I think it says a lot. Leaving you, even if you accidentally hurt someone, will never even cross my mind. I don’t know what I’d do without you.”

Shana held on tightly while he talked. She had been his nightmare. But contrasting Rob's dream at least she wasn't the bad guy here. Relieved that he was alright she lifted her head to his and kissed him softly.

Ben kissed her back, his anxiety momentarily melting away. He quit worrying about how they were going to escape, if there was anything hiding in the darkness. He was there with Shana, and that was all that mattered.

He kissed her back and she leaned into the kiss, held him cold. Smiling happily she stepped back, but kept his hands in hers. She loved him so much.

"Anybody got an idea to get back home?"

"I'm assuming you mean 'home' as the waking world?" James asked, averting his eyes from their kiss- for their privacy. "Because, probably just waking up should do the trick.

“How would we do that?”

Asked Ben, nervous. What if they couldn’t wake up? What if he was forever trapped in his own head? What if, in needing to be rescued, he had caused everyone else to be trapped too?

"Doc might know, he's back at 'Dream Central'- My head" James explained, "Just let yourself be pulled towards it"

I let myself be pulled toward the liiiiiiight a tugging feeling - then blinked, and was next to my uncle. I sighed in relief.
