The soldier noticed and nodded back at her, waiting for the GBs to speak to his captain.

@I think I am here.

The captain was a young man with big eyes who seemed overly calm, though his fingers twitched slightly.

“We’re here for peace. We’d like to speak to the leader of this guild directly if he or she is available.”

"State your case first," the soldier said calmly. "We're only taking you to him after we've confirmed that you're here for peace."

The captain nodded, reaching for something in his coat pocket. “Stricker procedures now,” he mumbled to no one in particular, then paused. “I guess you’re right.”

He ended up producing a sheet of paper and handing it to the soldier. It was a transcript of the direct instructions they had been given, signed by the Triarchy. It said to negotiate peace with the Church of the Whiterose, and some other things.

“We can discuss more later, but that shows we mean no harm,” he said.

The next day, Osla walks into Erlend’s office and says, “I have to go, I will be back as soon as I can, and I’m taking Slate with me”

Erlend looks up from his work and smiles, “travel safe then, do you need anything for the journey?”

A man in robes approaches the yelling man, “sir, could you please stop yelling? There are classes in session right now, and I’m fairly certain they’re taking a test.”

Other than the robed man everyone else just seemed to ignore him.

@Kidpen

Detran frowns. "Classes? I was under the impression that this is a heathen church. Why would anyone be taking classes?"

Hypothetically, how likely would Detran be to die if he attacked the skull thing?

“Sir, this is also a school.”

"Specifics now," the soldier said, nodding to another soldier, who took out a notesheet and a pencil.

@I think I am here.

“We want to negotiate peace, because we’re sorry about the attacks done against your church. Innocent people died, and we want to make up for the atrocities.”

The captain put the sheet of paper away. “Along with a nice portion of land we would like to gift you as a peace offering, we would like to ask the leader how we can make up for the attacks.

Detran just blinked at the man. "I... alright then. When does school get out?"

The man checked his watch, “all classes will be done in about 3 hours. If you wish to take your discussion inside the cathedral however I’m sure you'll be able to find an audience.”

"Hm," the soldier said. "Okay." He turned on his radio and said to Erlend, "We have visitors from the Ghostbloods offering peace. Requesting permission to bring them to you."

Detran's eyes light up at the prospect of people to preach to. "Ah, wonderful! I'll do that right away." And with that he went into the cathedral and started his very loud mantra over again, word for word.

"People of this church! Rejoice, for Jaddeth has found you! You have sequestered in your false heathen faiths for too long. The time has come to learn about Shu Dereth and Jaddeth. The time has come to finally become who you were meant to be!"

“Of course, I’m in my office” Erlend replies.

The other radio in Erlend's office- the one built into what looked like a golden skull- crackled to life.

"There's a heretic spouting off about 'Jaddeth' in the main hall," the radio said, heavily distorted by static. "Permission to put a bolt round into his head?"

“I’m going to have to say no to that one, people are entitled to their own opinions.” He pauses for a moment, “though, keep an eye on him.”

"Aye, sir," the soldier said to Erlend through the radio. He turned it off and said to the Ghostbloods, "Follow me." He and two of his inferiors walked toward Erlend's office as the rest dispersed to continue their guard duty.

I don’t think so, we’ll get supplies from a friend about a day’s walk away, and I’ll get that day’s supplies from the mess hall.

The captain nodded, mumbling to thin air as he signalled for his group to follow. He was a bit eccentric, some would say.
