Dan sighed and said, “Okay, fine. I love you. I won’t let you die.” He kissed Shae for a second, Dan’s whole body feeling tense and ready to kill, but having Shae here was making him anxious as well. “He’s down that hall,” Dan said, flicking his ears toward the hall he meant.

He nodded. "Great. How do these work? Crash course time." He gestured to the dozen guns he had 'gathered' from the guards. If he could shoot at the guy, it might help. Maybe...

“Oh, thank the Sisters, you have handguns,” Dan said, relieved. He knew how to use those. He picked one up, loaded it, cocked it, then aimed and shot down the hall into a corpse. “Just load it with these,” he held up a cartridge from his belt and pretended to put it into the gun, though he didn’t have to, “this,” he cocked the gun again, “and click the trigger here,” he did so and shot the corpse again. “I don’t know how to use rifles or anything, so I’m stuck with these.”

He nodded, taking the gun and practicing on the corpse. He could hit a torso reasonably well at this distance... he doubted it would be much use when the guy was moving, though. Maybe he could just distract him. "I'm a skilled fighter, and you're an expert one, right? So if we fight together, even an expert would lose. We'd outclass him together, right? That means we need to work together this time instead of attacking him separately... I'll aim for the pressure points."

“And I’ll use my claws,” Dan said. That he could do quite easily. “Overpower him. I’m good at swinging around, too.”

He nodded. "Alright. Get his weapons away from him- then he had fewer options. We have the best chance if we keep in melee. Are we're ready?"

“Yeah,” Dan said, feeling like an idiot for letting Shae do this but also knowing that he’d be a jerk to try to stop him. “I love you,” he continued quietly.

Shae nodded. "I love you too. Don't get shot or killed or else I'll kill him, bring you back from the dead, slap you, and then spoil you rotten." He stood, grimacing. His jaw still hurt... Dan was going to owe him big time after this.

Also, would it drain from untapped metalmind stores? What would it do to abominations?

A man watched from the shadows, his light blue tint the only sign he was there. He fired again and again at DA attackers, using his sound suppressors to end them whithout being caught. He ran to different hiding places, shooting. And shooting again. Church members, DA strikeforce, innocent children. Dead.

The Waiter dodged bullets, sprinting away, into a locked room. When inside, he drank a large vial of pewter. He started burning it, then broke down the door. Church members he saw, he killed. He knew the Ghostbloods, and they weren't who he was killing. He left small mines in various locations, leaving them unactivated. He climbed onto the roof, and detonated them. He turned, and saw him. Lance. He walked up, grinning. He grabbed his hand, pulling him into a hug. They laughed. Then, as one, they turned, to fire again at the forces inside.

It only feeds on active investiture- if you can cross over fifteen feet of ground, climb a twenty foot or taller wall, and cross the three feet to the other side, and get down without using investiture; then you should be fine- things like Spheres are drained though. As for abominations, those are hemalurgy, right? They wouldn't be affected unless the spike came out, since it affects the soul. Once out of a body, though, the spike can be drained.

KanMien peeked around the corner, and saw a group of Ghostbloods attacking the defenders. Taking stock of their positions, KanMien rounded the corner, and opened fire. Two died, then another one dropped, shot in his stomach. The men noticed them, and started shooting back, while others rushed forwards bearing swords and spears. Bullets flew around them, and they starting picking off the men rushing her. When they reached them, only one was still standing, though KanMien was bleeding from multiple bullet wounds. The man stabbed his spear through her stomach. KanMien gasped, but smiled, pointing their gun at his head, and killing him. As he collapsed, they started shooting at the remaining gunmen, killing them too. Pulling out the spear, she tore off a piece of the dead man's flesh, and ate it, using it to heal their wounds.

Dan nodded, then took Shae with him and found the Waiter. He fired at the attacker’s hand three times before the Waiter noticed him from ten feet away, then walked forward and fired again at his other hand.

Shae shot at his feet, doing his best to hit, but not expecting much. He also shot at the man next to him, annoyed at how long it took them to get to the roof.

Walker and Thel jumped out of the Shrike Bomber that Dusk had provided them, with a dozen elite TUBA operatives, including Dareck. They fell towards the church, and at the last moment, pulled their gravity shoots, and stopped their fall.

"Elites, except for Dareck, get the refugees out! Keep civilians safe, and stop any rouge assassins you find. Stay in a group. Dareck, Thel, you're with me, We're taking down the Jackal," Walker said. The elites jumped into the building and started working their way through the building, saving people, and removing rouges.

He's not on the character list, and I can't remember seeing a sheet for him either. Also, even if he's an NPC, I do want to see a character sheet for the Waiter so I at least know his abilities, since he's basically the primary figure leading this attack, which makes him a whole lot more important than an NPC is supposed to be, especially since this is a completely different thread than the one he was created in.

Outside of the compound, figures began appearing in groups of five to seven. Some had mechanical prosthetics, some had bizarre masks, and one in particular was definitely a gorilla. But they all wore lab coats.

The gorilla turned and addressed the assembly. 

“Listen up Denizens. This is an ‘aid’ assignment, we’re not here to wipe out entire armies, as much as we might want to. You’re allowed to do some impromptu baking of course, but your main purpose is as medics. I want each group to have at least one cadmium user, one Progression user, and one Gold specialist. Defense Denizens will be using a combination of Steel Bubbles, Lurcher plates, and energy neutralization aons to ensure limited interruptions. If someone does decided to pursue further impediment of our work, you may collect some materials from them, but again, we are not YET authorized to begin full collection. Dead subjects are of course free game, but I would ask you to prioritize the mission at hand.”

He turned to face the ongoing battle and chuckled. “You’ve all put people back together, though generally after dissecting them in the first place. This will be a good exercise to see if you can repair someone else’s botched dissection.”

He raised a massive fist in the air and let out a bellow that shook the ground,

“FOR SCIENCE!!!”

the Denizens cheered and moved forward to save lives. Mostly.
