“Yeah. I left Scadrial when I was 17 with my dad. My mom didn’t want to come, and she kept my sister. I haven’t seen em since.”

There was something about Sam that Nael was drawn to. In all his life, he’d never met someone who seemed genuinely interested in him. And he was interested in her.

Redatrick leaned against the doorframe, in thought. Bloody magics. For him, experimenting meant Jarret trying to predict how loud his victims would scream, but here, it was this?

“They can...” He didn’t know how to put it, so he just gestured to Mike. “They can change you like that?” Suddenly the passion against the people in the Alleyverse seemed to make sense.

“I didn’t know it was possible to do that.” How would they even do that?

It took a while for Redatrick to notice the boy was stabbed, with some sort of railroad spike? With multiple spikes. But... he wasn’t dead. Or bleeding, for that matter. Redatrick was going to suggest a doctor, but the kid had said it couldn’t be changed. And one thing was for certain, he was not a Faceless Immortal. Maybe an attempt to replicate one? Was that even possible?

“That’s... not good,” he found himself saying. His glasses slid to his nose, and he pushed them up again. “Should we go back to the gang?”

When he finally arrived to Bella, he tried his best to cover up his Roughs accent and pushed his glasses up. “Hello, madame,” he said. Would she notice him? If she did, there was no chance his friends wouldn’t.

Jacien turned back toward Freyja.

"I was just hoping to be able to talk to Nael for a minute. Oh! I just remembered!"

He took his bag off his shoulders and rummages through it for a moment, then pulls out a tupperware with a slice of chocolate cake in it.

"I thought you might appreciate this." He said with a smile.

He then shouldered his pack. "I think your gang leader wants to get your attention. But if you guys need any help for anything, feel free to contact me."

He started to push the door open, then paused for a second.

"Oh, and also, could you do me a favor and give this to Nael?"

Jacien holds out what looked like a little disk with a gemstone on the top of it.

"It's a fabrial that if you twist the gemstone, it will light up a paired fabrial that I have. I use them to be able to stay in contact with people in the Alleyverse. Tell him to activate it if he, or Sam, or you ever need help or want to talk to me for some reason."

Freyja drooled at the sight of the chocolate slice. She took it and grabbed Jacien in a tight hug and kissed him on the cheek.

"Thank you! I'll be sure to see you soon!" Said Freyja flirtatiously and winked.

"I have to go now, I'll be in touch! Here take this!" Said Freyja.

She handed him a scented handkerchief and headed back to the base. She entered the building and walked to Bella.
