movie adaptations are yuck

Ordinarily: yes

Lotr: BEST EVER

Further counterpoint: the Pride &Prejudice adaptations aren't bad

Take the risk. Not for them as adaptations of the books, but as epic fantasy movies

I have not had the pleasure (or interest in) looking at the previous 2,889 pages (sue me), so to be clear, we can just post about whatever? It seems like the present discussion is about favorite books. But as long as it’s the last post, anything goes, right? Sorry, @YEVAD, for taking your spot. Feel free to reclaim it. I try not to be too competitive on social media platforms.

If the question is, in fact, about books we like/are currently reading, one that falls under both categories for me is 1984 by Eric Blair, more commonly known as George Orwell.

If the question is not about books we like and/or are currently reading, I have made a fool of myself online. Huzzah!
