Verdance he/him Posted April 15 Posted April 15 3 hours ago, Through The Living Grub said: High fantasy story with an interesting magic system. I thought the system was cool, but I had some issues with the writing. It was mainly the difficult to remember names and some of those places were not plot relevant. Gonna say it again: wonderful magic system. So, the magic system was… bad. Like, mechanics wise, it was very very bad to be honest. Paolini did lock in and work somebof it into the culture in interesting ways, but… not great magic. Cool magic. Flashy magic. But not sanderson smart magic. the writing improves over time, the characters improve over time. The dragonlore is super cool. Can’t wait to see where the Murtagh novel is going if he ever releases another

Through The Living Grub He/Him Posted April 15 Posted April 15 I've seen ORV mentioned a lot, but I have no idea what it is.

I enjoyed them and fluff reading has its place, but they are pretty fluffy. And yeah, very much a Tolkien rip off with less world building 13 hours ago, Usseewa said: what's... eragon.. *heaves* Cool dragon fantasy series.
