I mean, Aon Kii can cause guilty people to feel pain, but they would probably have to feel guilty. That's the closest, I think. 

Non-cosmere: The Oath Rod in WoT could be used to that effect, but not unless someone is willing to swear on it. 

Indirectly, you could use the Daredevil approach of Tin allowing you to sense minor changes in demeanor. Strong enough emotional Allomancy could be used to make someone want to. 

Edit: There is a pair of Lenses capable of that in Alcatraz, but they're implied to be the only ones. 

Wolfbrothers in WoT can smell emotions, which can help identify lies, but it's not foolproof.

I think changing that about Aln would feel like a betrayal of the character, at this point. A scientist with morals does provide a contrast to the DA. But I might end up making a more chaotic character someday, to explore the other side of the RP

Out of curiosity, is there a current plan for the general plot of this Era at the moment, or are we just sort of seeing what happens?

I believe there is a  plan, Fate is laying the ground work right now to get people in place for it to happen, but there is a plan.

Do we know what someone like Cassie would be seeing happening to the Alleyverse? Like would it be like parts of the world are disintegrating or just mismatched, or something else?

I'm sort of debating having Byron run into one of the more aware groups vs having Cassie start to puzzle things together with NullBlade vs... both, I guess.

You might be able to create some kind of zone of truth based on Aon Aan or make lies painfull with Aon Reo

Essentially, the world is slowly starting to come apart as more and more people encounter discrepancies from their previous lives. As people and places begin to disappear, the more keen minded residents might notice the cracks. But as the cracks spread, so do the children of the Mother of Shadows, seeking to reset or remove those causing dissonance. They are subtle, but at the cost of outright power, favoring stealth. Most characters are currently in the process of noticing the differences, which will lead to greater and greater conflict as things begin to escalate.

For someone who has no alternate memories I would probably have them focus on observing those who do or notice the actual physical manifestations of trouble like the earthquakes that have been mentioned.

Laurelai probably also has some vague thoughts of potentially honeypotting a slightly suspiciously timed individual. But it's mostly just that she's a sucker for anyone who knows how to dress well.

So hypothetical question: how would a character and/or person get recruited into the DA? And if they tried to get recruited, what’s the over/under on them ending up a thouroughly spiked corpse?

I want to make a Duralumin Gnat character for some reason.

The chances of spiking vs surviving depend entirely on which DA character you encounter and whether or not you can give the impression that you’ll be more useful as an acolyte than as a spike or test subject  My suggestion is to choose carefully and be interesting

Alternatively you can just DM a person with a DA character and say I want to get a character in there. Most of us would be pretty down to work with you to make that happen.

Yes of course, I was talking more about IC random role play as opposed to pre arranging an encounter

This would likely be a next-era character instead of something that I bring in now. It’s just with the mecha-Cassie change all of my current characters are extremely vulnerable to Leechers, and I’d like one who isn’t. Plus is just less Invested in general.

Duralumin Gnat in particular is interesting, because they’d be really strong with most spikes… but also has a much stronger chance of just becoming a duralumin spike for someone more used to their abilities.

Sort of leaning towards A-Copper now anyway, with maybe a Surge Spike or fabrial or something. But someone more skilled than invested.
