ohhhhhhhh, everyone thought it was the Chaos Marine that was grabbing Syen, not another daemon. Too late to do a clarification retcon now, innit?

It's fine. It was my decision, to play a non-fighter (against Archers warning I have to add) and it was my decision to change character (before the fight even started). No retcon needed. And I actually I understood that there were two separate attackers.

Please, don't grieve (is that the right word?). I'm totally fine with that.

Devaan stared at Syen's body.

I let her die. I was cocky. I was arrogant. I assumed she was freezing up. I assumed that she was weak.

And she died for it

Rage boiled over Devaan. Then a sudden wave of calm. He knew what to do.

He stepped through the hole in the wall and faced down the Daemon.

He took a deep breath, calmly walking up to it.

It attacked, Devaan ignored it. Dodging with relative ease.

Finally, Devaan was standing in front of the giant reddish monstrosity. He looked at it's giant, bulbous mouth, Syen's blood was still on it's fangs, and cast an Aon in the air. The Deamon was held in place.

Devaan knocked it down, then pried open it's jaw. One by one, he ripped it's teeth out. He opened a bendalloy bubble. No one could interfere. He ripped each and every single teeth.

Then he started on the claws. They went next.

Then he burnt the eyes.

Then he took out one of his Tia cards, buried it into the Daemon's kneecap, and sent it onto a remote space he made in the middle of the horn eater mountains. Where the Daemon would slowly starve to death.

He dropped the bubble. The feeling of calm disappearing and being replaced with disgust. Did he really do that?

"Sir?" a marine said to him, motioning towards the hole. A space marine walked cautiously towards it, covering the hole with his bolter. "What happened here?"

"A deamon came in, as did some plague-ridden marine. I took care of the Daemon, I want that marine dead." He said bluntly, retiring to his canton's living quarters.

Yeah, playing a non-fighter in a RP full of battle hungry people is not the safest thing ever.

Sorry Devaan went off the rails in my last post. He hasn't slept once during the seven day war.

Devaan's reserves of wakefulness ran out just as he hit the bed, immediately falling asleep as the wave of fatigue hit him. He was out.

I know :D

But it also offers a lot of rp possibilities. And it lets the fighters look after the non-fighters. And you can find your scenes also as a non-fighter with a bit of creativity.

I like to rp for the sake of rp. And I like my characters "weak" so that they need help. Because if I can do everything on my own, then I can turn on my gaming computer, start Mass Effect/ Fallout (...) and start shooting things. But in a rp it's fine to need help, to not be able to solve all quests and all plots. I don't mean to criticize anybody here, please don't get me wrong. I like the way you play here, or I wouldn't have joined. It's just that this is my way of rping, and I even made Syen a lot stronger than I had planed, because Archer recommended it. And I can promise you that Damaya will also have a lot of things she knows nothing about, and that she never will be a strong fighter either (but she will be able to defend herself). Maybe it's simply the fact that I had the best rp in my life when my character was depened on others. I don't know.

Please tell me if this doesn't work for you. Then I can change Damaya, it's no problem.

No, it works. All characters work in this RP. (Except massively OP ones.)

imo, while it's good to consider your co-player's feelings when RPing, how you RP should be how you want to RP (unless it's like explicitly against the rules), so to me, you should build Damaya however you want to give you maximum enjoyment!

The second. It was the second.

The second of trillions. Only the second to succeed.

It was powerful. Powerful, but bound.

It had done it anyway.

It came into existence on a short rise that overlooked the Alleyverse. It had been gone for much time, business had called, but now It watched the rebuilding process.

It was smiling.

It was the second. It was unique.

The others had failed. It had not.

It had done it even while restrained.

It nodded slowly at the work that was being done, then It disappeared once more.

KoTiel nodded, and walked down to the vehicles. Finally, everything was over. They thought about what they had seen, and what they were going to do. They were still shaken about everything that had happened. Harmony, they'd actually fought. That wasn't something they'd expected would happen the first time they went to this city. They didn't feel bad about it though, they had realized that sometimes it was necessary. Perhaps that was something to keep in mind for the future. As for what they would actually go and do... They'd probably just see what would happen.
They stepped in the vehicle together with the other other refugees, and sat down, waiting for it to leave.

Please remember that the Alleycity is an irradiated crater in the ground, as of right now.

This reminder comes from the Civic Bureaucracy. Thank you for your patience.

Kane had left the ship with his Sentinels and went to Bassopolis.

"Inkblight."

Groggily, Inkblight sat up.

"The time has come. We must hasten."

Inkblight stood and dressed himself. Today, he wore a grey robe. He stepped out of his room and started down the stairs. Once he had reached the bottom, he opened the door and exited.

Once in the streets, he unclenched his fists and continued along.

I agree with everything you said.

Funny story, when I first came up for the concept of Rashan, I never really intended for him to be much of a fighter either. He originally was planned to have a far more conservative and far more passive personality back then. When you take away all of the fancy things from the new bio, Rashan's main weakness was that he didn't know of other magics. And that's how I designed him, imagining a man tapping steel, running through the battlefield, knowing his opponents were vastly more powerful but still trying to dodge.

Rashan was initially designed to be an ally character, someone who could be better when working in a team, dodging enemies and leeching them, leaving them vulnerable. And that was it. It was only in these CoC duels where I actually began to flesh out his personality a lot more, adding his more aggressive and outgoing personality. But yeah, I can understand the appeal to have a character like that, and it's great to have a few characters like that, even if some of us can't commit to it (me). :P

Kinda rambly. Sorry.

I never know where my characters end up. At one point they get their own mind and decide what to do next. What they do and what they experience shape who they become. And that's what I like most about rping. But in the end the most important thing is, that everybody has fun.
