@Archer here's my submission!

Name: Aleila Tavat

Physical Characteristics: Alethi tan, striking blue eyes, a bit on the chubbier side

Investiture: Lightweaver of the 1st Ideal

Skills: A talented author, and can run fast and without stopping for long periods of time when she needs to

Equipment: Some writing materials (some ink, quite a few blank scrolls, a case, and a quill or two), a dagger given to her by her mother, and a plethora of spheres

Weakness: Not very dexterous, is horrible at thinking on the fly, and has trouble in social situations

Family: The Tavat family, a small Alethi Lighteyed family of the fifth Dahn

Home Planet: Roshar

Backstory: Aleila lived a sheltered upbringing in the Tavat household, where she spent a lot of time reading and writing. She was coddled by her parents, which led to a superiority complex forming within her. Because of this, she was particularly rude to her darkeyed servants. Her parents, her mother specifically, had grand plans for Aleila's education, and pushed her to the point of extreme anxiety forming whenever she fell even barely below her mother's standards. Eventually, she formed a budding bond with a Cryptic she calls Warp, and she spoke the first ideal. However, soon after, a mess with a budding Elsecaller sent Aleila flying into Shadesmar, where she eventually made her way to the Alleycity.

Psyche: Stable enough, although she gets sometimes crippling anxiety

Personality: Aleila is quite the stuck-up little Lighteyes. She tends to look down on anyone different than her, and most people who talk to her tend to get annoyed with her eventually. She is quite well versed in her favorite topics and can talk about them for hours in explicit detail.

Appearance: Alethi tan, short-ish dark brown hair with bangs. Around 5'7" and is pear-shaped. Loves to wear blue havahs (might be the only clothing she has?)

Fighting Style: Nonexistent

If you want. I really want this character. If it’s not allowed, then why is it on the index?

It shouldn't be.

Investiture: Lightweaver of the 1st Ideal [+90]

Skills: A talented author, and can run fast and without stopping for long periods of time when she needs to [These aren’t on the index. Though I would rate these low as writing isn’t combat useful and stormlight can duplicate the effect of the endurance let’s say 20 until someone else with authority scores it]

So wait. If one oath radiant is 90, where would a fifth oath fall?

Here is an updated version of the index: I'm sorry, it raises the point values for radiant a ton, but stormlight healing is almost as good as gold healing, so they needed to be raised. At the bottom I have my logic for why the rankings are such.

Fabrial that replicates surges: +15 per surge.

*Dysian Aimian: +45

*Siah Aimian: +45

*Singer: +20

*Spren: 0

Logic:

This is the equations I used to generate the KR rankings:
KR Third Oath = 30 + 80 (Full Strength Stormlight Abilities)  + 50 = 160 - Even more Oaths, Varies based on character - Being broken = This should all equal 100

KR Second Oath = 70 (Weaker Stormlight Abilities) + 40 (Weaker, less experience with surges) - More oaths, varies based on character - Being broken.

KR First Oath = 60 (Even Weaker Stormlight Abilities) + 30 (Even Weaker, Even less experience with surges) - 5 - Being broken.

For Nalthis, I just said that 4th heightening should be 100, but that the more breaths you have doesn't necessarily give you a benefit in a fight. Once you get beyond a certain number their isn't an large increase of power with a large increase of breaths.

5th Ideal hasn’t been seen yet so it cannot truly be scored. @Ark1002

A one oath radiants power is at 90, but you need to factor in the inherent weaknesses of radiancy.

Each oath you swear counts for a little subtraction, but this changes based on their oath.

In addition, each radiant needs to be broken in order for the bond to form, so in reality, once you subtract 5 points for the first oath, and subtract the values for being broken, a first oath radiant could work out to about 60 points.

What about lightweavers? Truths instead of oaths and all?

Lightweavers still have to hold true to their truths. We know that they killed their spren via breaking their truths, after all.

You can judge where a character is based on how much they've progressed and then used the corresponding point values. The truths should be pretty impactful, about as much as swearing an oath.

This is a good thread for seeing the impact of truths on shallan:

Yes, but the truths can be a lot less binding.

This would need an ok from the audience of this roleplay specifically, as opposed to the wider community of 17S. Chaos doesn't mind as long as topics with spoilers are marked, but that presents another challenge in that we'd potentially have to mark every topic that this character appears in as having potential Skyward spoilers. I suppose the crux of it for me is whether or not you're attached to the concept enough for us to go down that path instead of waiting for the end of the spoiler period and whether or not they need to be in the Alleyverse or could be in a separate RP, or possibly one of the tangential RPs we're beginning to explore.

What if instead of a cytonic, I call it an epic with similar abilities? Mind blades are op anyway.

(Sorry for interupting)

Not necessarily, see the thread Mac mentioned. Because Radiants are broken, the Truths often force Lightweavers to come to understand things about themselves that no normal Oath would, and force them to constantly acknowledge it. Truths can be things they hate about themselves, things they deny about themselves. Truths can be much, much, more binding then Oaths.

Agreed. An Oath says "this is what I swear." A Truth says "this is." It's much more intertwined with the Radiant him/herself, in my opinion.

Well, you see, what if that character is so mentally broken that they already hate themselves, but don't care?

Why would that person be a Lightweaver? Lightweavers are described as :

Quote

These Lightweavers, by no coincidence, included many who pursued the arts; namely: writers, artists, musicians, painters, sculptors. Considering the order's general temperament, the tales of their strange and varied mnemonic abilities may have been embellished.

Someone who is so mentally broken that they hate themselves much more naturally fits into the dustbringers. Cryptics are attracted to lies, and this person isn’t lying.

Yes, but what if this said character has changed in temperment, but not enough to kill the spren?

So, they attracted the spren, by being of the right fit, but has since changed drastically, allowing them to tell the truth, and move past the fact they hate themself.

Are they actually "moving past" the self-loathing, or giving in to complete apathy? One of those may actually cause the Lihgtweaver to increase in oath level, the other would almost certainly either break or fracture the spren bond imo. If the truth no longer matters to the Lightweaver, the basis for all the Truths may become void.

Then they have moved on, but I wouldn’t describe them as someone who just doesn’t care about it any more. If they have moved on then they have come to accept it and built on it, changing themselves because of it, but they do not ignore it. It’s impossible to, that’s the fundamental nature of the truths. That’s why Shallan is so broken, because she can’t accept the truths.

This said character is probably more broken than Shallan.

So, this is a broken character, more broken then Shallan, but also just ignores their breaking and their truth. Once again, I'm going back to the point that I don't think this person can be a lightweaver. Their spren should be dead, as they're breaking the fundamental nature of truths.
