Approved. Thank you! I bumped him up to skilled in melee (+15 more) and added average in hand-to-hand combat (+20) = +35, putting him at exactly 150 points: Spoiler Name: Arington Peras (nickname: Ari) Physical Characteristics: Male, human, of average strength. Investiture: The seon Sao (means intelligence, learning: for communication, information, and spying +5) Skills: Ari is skilled (+50) in melee weapons and average (+20) in hand-to-hand combat. A intelligent (+20) human, he is skilled (+25) at healing, and has dabbled in the hemalurgic arts (the theoretical, not the physical) and creation of fabrials. To help him in his studies, Ari is skilled (+30) at analysis and has studied investiture for the past ten years (in an attempt to discover the secret of changing the type of investiture from one Shard’s investiture to another). Equipment: Shardblade (+30), knife, a satchel used for notes and research, some tent stakes (which lack any sort of investiture…) Weakness: Ari’s attention is often caught by interesting things (a weakness in combat or while trying to focus), but more importantly he is afraid of himself. He fears that he will strike out in anger and hurt someone he loves (see psyche). His intermittent explosive disorder is also a weakness (-30) Family: Ari’s father and mother (now shades) were from Scadrial, and came to Threnody before the system became a mess. He had one sister (now a shade) and no brothers. Ari is not aware of any other relations in the Alleyverse. Home Planet: Ari is from Threnody. According to him, it is “not a vacation home.” Backstory: Ari was born on Threnody to Shari and Kalidran Peras, near the Forests of Hell. His parents came from Scadrial and settled there before Ambition, Mercy, and Odium’s fight. Before the shades, Ari would sit in the Forests for hours studying all kinds of plant and animal life. Tragedy struck when, several years later in a bout of rage, he accidentally killed his parents. Traumatized, it took Ari a long time to recover. To distract himself from his past, Ari began researching investiture. This search for information led him to the wider universe at the age of 17. While visiting Roshar, Ari accidently killed a Shardbearer (never lean your back against a large boulder on a cliff, it might hit someone. Would you call this luck? For Ari, maybe, but not for the Shardbearer) and bonded the Blade. Ari continues to travel the Alleyverse researching investiture where and when he can. Guild: currently unaffiliated Psyche: Ari has intermittent explosive disorder (a real thing), where he has repeated, sudden episodes of impulsive, aggressive, violent behavior or angry verbal outbursts in which he can react grossly out of proportion to the situation. Other than that he’s fine. He tries to be nice (when he’s not striking out in anger). Personality: Ari is friendly and kind most of the time. Bothering or surprising him runs the risk of triggering intense bouts of anger. He is frequently distracted by interesting things, and loves to research and does scientific research about investiture when he can. Appearance: He is 5ft 8in, 34 years old. Not skinny but not large, Ari has a good build, and is muscular but does not appear so. Dirty blond hair, caucasian, with a more elliptical face shape than square or round. He lacks facial hair, but that all the more emphasizes his blue eyes. Ari wears glasses, a thin wire frame around lenses an eighth of an inch thick (he’s nearsighted). Fighting Style: Ari will avoid confrontation whenever possible due to his trauma from childhood and because it triggers his disorder. When he must fight, his extreme anger causes him to be more reckless than he should, but it also makes him more dangerous. Ari prefers the use of swords over knives, but is good with a knife when necessary. The quarterstaff is his favorite weapon, since it is the least lethal The aon Sao: Edited March 26, 2022 by HippoPhileus

Personally what helps me develop weaknesses is fleshing out my characters backstory. Just like you as a normal person aren't willing to do everything and anything, you character will have similar kinds of reservations. What stuff are they unwilling to do, why? One weakness I liked on your previous list was the one about truthfulness. It reminded me of fey, where they can't tell falsehoods, but try to dance around the truth anyway they can. I would explore that and try to figure out why the character would be like that, and how that mindset would spread out to other things. Basically, what kind of fears and weaknesses/character flaws would result from a person who went through your characters life. For example, my character Ronald is an accountant/white collar worker. Yet he has very little respect for the law and the powers that be. These two things lead him to be a very conniving person, yet still a coward. He doesn't like to get his hands dirty, and doesn't like confrontation. In addition to being a coward, he tends to think others are beneath him, and is generally a pretty snooty, abrasive person. For Balance, it seems that they blame themselves for their family's death, and so they stay distant, and try to forget them. You could play around with a lot of them needing to distance yourselves from people. One note I have is that epic weaknesses are tied to fear, so perhaps their epic weakness could be tied to a fear of losing what they have, and how this fear leads them to push people and other things away. This one base fear could lead out to a number of different behaviors that act as weaknesses/character flaws. EDIT: One note is that the more you describe the affects certain weaknesses have on characters, the easier they are to grade. So keep that in mind as you come up with weaknesses. The Sibling she/her Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 (edited) Character sheet: Name: Melody Karah Physical Characteristics: Scratchy, pale brown hair reaching almost to her waist. Just above 5 ft tall. Icy blue eyes. Thin and wiry. Investiture: Gold Ferring Skills: Skilled acrobat, amateur with a bow. Equipment: Four glass daggers and a longbow. A deep brown cloak that when turned inside out becomes a lavish, navy coloured cloak. Lots of hidden pockets on every piece of clothing. Lots of dice and cards of every sort. Weaknesses: Bad at social situations. Clumsy when nervous, and constantly fiddling with her hair. Sometimes the world is too much for her, so she randomly pulls her hood over her face and hides. Family: A father named Tempo who works a boring desk job but spends his evenings telling stories to anyone who will listen. A mother named Lyric who is very mysterious and often leaves the family to go adventuring. Melody is a triplet, with a sister named Harmony who follows in her mother’s footsteps, and a brother named Symphony who she thinks drowned when he was eight. Home Planet: Scadrial Backstory: She was born to a fairly wealthy family, but after Symphony died her life felt incomplete. When her mother was preparing to leave (again) to who knows where, Melody decided to follow. She worshipped her mother. Melody hid in her mother’s trunk. She has no idea how she ended up in the alleyverse. When she emerged from the trunk, she saw her mother with another family. She felt betrayed, ran away, and got lost. Now she doesn’t know what to do. Guild: Unaffiliated Psyche: Fairly smart, generally aloof. Very paranoid and bad a making friends. Shy, but also weird. Appearance: Well tanned skin with a few freckles. Prominent scar on her left elbow. Fighting Style: Shoots from afar, pretty much domed in close contact. Fast and smart, Melody will try to do something clever, but will usually screw up and end up getting beat up. EmulatonStromenkiin he/him Posted March 31, 2022 Posted March 31, 2022 @Voidus, here's the revised list of weakness - Weakness: Bad at social interactions, and often misunderstands the purposes of people’s choices, leading to bad situations that could have been fixed if he was brave enough to ask the right questions. Clumsy in non-combat situations(average clumsy,-5). Is prone to depression b/c blames himself for the destruction of his family and people - ties to epic weakness. Depression in reference to his past triggers his epic weakness - actual epic weakness is failing/believing he failed to protect people that he was responsible for(-10?). Slow to heal (like someone storing half health for gold slow). Rushes into things, especially when he believes people are in danger(-5?). Avoids friendships and closes himself off due to a fear of bringing ruin on them(-5?). Loner by choice, not nature(-5?) - this hurts him, as he likes to be around people and listen to them, it makes him feel needed. Bound to truth due to history - incapable of speaking untruth, but can stay silent, cannot purposely mislead or imply untruth - this has made him wary of situations in which he would be questioned, and so he avoids them whenever possible.(-8?)

Forgery(60) Skills: Scholarship - Skilled(30) Intelligence - Intelligent(30) Equipment: Clothes above, small journal with attached pen, written in secret script, Malatium vial(25), trading card binder for soulstone and stamps, with a key that is worn around their neck(no pricing listed for soulstone), small tent Weakness: fairly subservient towards authority, very scrawny, dislikes any injustice and will try to rectify it Family: Raised by the Ire as an experiment to see the potentials of mixing powers. Has left them, but still has ties with a few members. Home Planet: Sel’s Rose Empire Backstory: Ora was raised on Sel by the Ire. From a young age, she was encouraged to investigate the world around her. Her life was an experiment, with perfect the process of reading objects to then alter them. Clumsy in non-combat situations(average clumsy,-5). Will stick with the -5, clumsy outside of combat is more a character quirk than a weakness. Is prone to depression b/c blames himself for the destruction of his family and people - ties to epic weakness. Depression in reference to his past triggers his epic weakness - actual epic weakness is failing/believing he failed to protect people that he was responsible for(-10?). Just as a note I don't actually tend to give points for Epic weaknesses because that's factored into point cost, but it seems like the implication here is that this is frequently triggered which is worth a -15. Slow to heal (like someone storing half health for gold slow). Not something that actually comes up much, time progression and abundance of healing magics mean that variation in healing ability is not super relevant. But we'll keep the -5. Rushes into things, especially when he believes people are in danger(-5?). -5 Avoids friendships and closes himself off due to a fear of bringing ruin on them(-5?). Loner by choice, not nature(-5?) - this hurts him, as he likes to be around people and listen to them, it makes him feel needed. These again are more character quirks than weaknesses, and honestly kind of detrimental for the RP as a whole if he doesn't interact with others. This does seem more likely to trigger his Epic weakness but that's mostly taken into account for the points above. Bound to truth due to history - incapable of speaking untruth, but can stay silent, cannot purposely mislead or imply untruth - this has made him wary of situations in which he would be questioned, and so he avoids them whenever possible.(-8?) This one does seem a little random still but I'm a fan of beings bound to speak the truth so we'll allow it. -5 Notes in red, total is -35 That still puts them over by about 20 points, I'd prefer not just adding more mildly inconveniencing weaknesses though so perhaps something a little more impactful or else changing some of their skills/abilities. 7 hours ago, Harbringer of Auroras said: Hiya! Theme Song (optional): Broken Bells by Gretta Van Fleet Fighting Style: Doesn’t Love this, great to have another Forger around So for the ability to read object histories were you thinking of that as a use of Malatium? If they're burning Malatium to do it then I'm kind of okay with that not needing any additional point total. But if it's something they can do freely then that's probably going to be a decent sum of points due to the obvious synergy with Forgery. Skills: 30+30 = 60 Equipment: 25 Investiture: 60 (Forgery) + ?? + 35 (Misting) Weaknesses: Subservient (-10), other two are great characterization but can't really get any points off, non-combatant (-10) As things stand they're only 10 points off at the moment if we assume Malatium is required for object reading, which we can approve I think since I'm not sure what I could suggest to change without altering the character concept too much and I do think they'd be a great addition. And we tend to give a little more leeway to skill-based non-combatants since 'OP' doesn't quite mean the same thing or cause as many problems for them. 1

Glad to have you on board, just taking a look over and I think this one is going to be over, I'm assuming some skills here but basing those on the backstory. Points tally: Steelrunner (50), Slider (40), complimentary twinborn (20) Raysium knives (Haven't actually been pointed yet so will go with 30 points to put them on par with Shardblades) Weaknesses: Prone to emotional breakdown (-10) Total for this without including any actual skills is 50+40+20+30-10 = 130 Could at most reach amateur level assassination techniques but I will note that those don't include combat abilities at all, just a general kind of stealth/infiltration skillset. And I feel like you're aiming for a more skilled character here so may need to make some changes to either the twinborn combination or possibly the knives, and potentially some changes to weaknesses to be either more crippling or easily triggered. 1

Spoiler Character sheet: Name: Balance the Realizer Physical Characteristics: Pale dark skinned with colored veins faintly visible beneath the skin, Deep black eyes with gold irises. Around 6 ft tall. Blue-brown hair. Otherwise, appearance is human Investiture: Epic - Realizer. Able to create blue energy wireframes of just about anything. These wireframes have innate power and mimic actual objects in such a way that they can be used as the object with more power(i.e. A sword is actually sharp, only impossibly so), but will fade after a few hours if he is not actively using them and/or concentrating on them. He can also will them to fade. Upper limit of ten medium sized wireframe objects manifest at one time. With a significant investment of energy, can make the objects real, not just wireframes, and they will not fade. When this is done, any connection to him is severed, so he no longer knows where it is(+70). Unaging on 5th heightening level, though no other similarities. Not affected by calamity (+10) Skills: Swordmaster - skilled(+60). Smart(+10). Equipment: Realized cloak(made real) - self repairing, camouflage pattern on it that makes him hard to notice when standing perfectly still and wearing it - not mystical, just a good choice of colors(+30). Random mechanical/electrical parts in pockets which he tinkers with. Weakness: Bad at social interactions, and often misunderstands the purposes of people’s choices, leading to bad situations that could have been fixed if he was brave enough to ask the right questions. Clumsy in non-combat situations(average clumsy,-5). Is prone to depression b/c blames himself for the destruction of his family and people - ties to epic weakness. Depression in reference to his past triggers his epic weakness - actual epic weakness is failing/believing he failed to protect people that he was responsible for(-15?). Slow to heal (like someone storing half health for gold slow). (-5) Rushes into things, especially when he believes people are in danger(-5). Bound to truth due to history - incapable of speaking untruth, but can stay silent, cannot purposely mislead or imply untruth - this has made him wary of situations in which he would be questioned, and so he avoids them whenever possible.(-5) Family: none left, destroyed Home Planet: Reckoners-Earth Backstory: Gained epic powers upon entering the Reckoners timeline. Due to mistakes he made, a great evil was released upon his peoples’ timeline, and it was prevented from spreading by the undoing of possibility, erasing their timeline and all other people in it. He now seeks to prevent the same great evil from coming into the rest of the universes, but refuses to tell people what it is. Through some quark, he was ejected as his timeline collapsed, resulting in him being unaging and bound to truth and landing him in a Coma in the Reckoners universe, unaffected by Calamity in the same way that Dawnslight was. After Calamity was defeated he woke up and was active for a few months, in which he learned how to use his powers. Another quark sent him to the Alleyverse, specifically the headquarters of TUBA in Alleycity. He was cared for by the people there until he woke up, after which he was very confused, remembering only dreams from the Reckonerverse and how to use his powers. He feels a sense of obligation towards TUBA for caring for him, which is why he helps them when he can. Though he does not like being around people, he has gotten used to it and interacts with them. Was trained in the sword in his home world. Guild: TUBA Psyche: Decently smart, very imaginative, analytical. Doesn’t understand people. Due to his oddness, he was unaffected by Calamity’s influence and remains like a normalish human. Avoids friendships and closes himself off due to a fear of bringing ruin on them - this hurts him, as he likes to be around people and listen to them, it makes him feel needed. Personality: Wary and analytical, enjoys reading. Appearance: Fighting Style: two weapon-two wireframe scimitars. Prefers defense until spots opening for offense, except when vastly outnumbered, when he uses the techniques of Itari, moving so fast the enemies end up hitting each other.

Stormblessed0421 he/him Posted April 8, 2022 Posted April 8, 2022 Spoiler Name: Deckh Physical Characteristics: Green eyes, slight but powerful, assassin's build, black hair, pale white skin Investiture: Slider misting Skills: trained as an assassin while infiltrating Rathbore Monastery on Sel Equipment: 2 ornately engraved Raysium daggers, bendalloy vials Weakness: If anyone makes him feel any sort of guilt for all his violent deeds, he will emotionally break very quickly; he's traumatically afraid of anything recognizably Selish (especially anything related to Shu-Dereth); prone to become very disoriented if he's trapped in someone else's bendalloy bubble Family: No known living relatives Home Planet: Scadrial Backstory: Born on Scadrial soon after the Catecendre as a Bendalloy misting. His parents both died in the same fire, leaving him to fend for himself on the streets of Elendel. After struggling for about a year, he joined an unnamed group of Worldhoppers who offered to help him through his troubles. He was sent to Sel undercover as an aspiring Derethi convert, joining Rathbore monastery which trained him as an assassin. His mission was to investigate AonDor, but he deserted the mission and hopped from world to world, eventually making his way to Alleycity. Guild: unaffiliated Personality: Very cold and calculating, brutal, and efficient. However, he is capable of change if the right person induces it. Appearance: normally wears a jet-black suit with a coat to conceal his knives; walks with a smooth, quick gait; tall Fighting Style: Uses a sort of blitzkrieg style, getting in and out of combat very quickly to press the element of surprise and taking on individual enemies inside a bendalloy bubble. Better? I can probably change the knives as well if the added weaknesses and removal of Steelrunning isn't enough 1
Emery the Steelrunner he/him Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 (edited) #1. Name: Samuel/Sam Aliases: The Steel Serpent, The Striker. Quote Physical Characteristics: A lean bodied male with green eyes and dirty blond hair. Wears green suit coats after the Scadrialian fashion. He also wears a classic mistcloak dyed forest green. He wears scarlet ties, and a green top hat with a scarlet hat band. Often seen with a simple, green, stained wood cane, with a steel handle. Investiture: A twin-born steel compounder. Skills: He is a steel burning savant. This is both a blessing and a curse. He is really efficient at burning steel. Has increased steel sight accuracy, and has an almost instinctual understanding of trajectories. He is also instinctively aware of when to stop pushing, this allows him to push metals at high speeds and stop before they contact with the target. This means high velocity bullets with little to no recoil on him. He also has an increased push on metal objects. He is intelligent, and is knowledgeable about basic wilderness survival [although if he is trapped in the wild with no access to steel then he wouldn’t last too long]: this includes how to build a fire, water purification, and mild medicinal and poisonous herbs. He has minimal knife and sword training. Equipment: He carries a small pouch of aluminum coins [to give to beggars] and a large pouch of coins of lower denominations to use as ammo/ anchors. He also carries two aluminum knives with him along with multiple vials of a steel flakes in water. Weakness: Because he has tapped his speed, and flared steel, his body has become weakened by the stresses and forces of him using his powers so much. This is why he is sometimes seen with a cane, but not always. He may be fast, but his muscle is weakened. He is really hard to catch, but if he is, then physical attacks will do a lot of damage. He can also easily be distracted both by hyper fixating on a topic, or just being scatterbrained. He only really gets hyper focused if the problem is of life or death importance concerning other people. He is also a big procrastinator. Some might think that being fast would make you efficient, but it just gives him more excuse to waste time. He can easily be manipulated by threatening a innocent civilian or one of his pets, he will always try to cause as few casualties as he can, but he will kill if he has to. He is weak to leachers, pewterarms, and aluminum weapons. Family: A Father who is a Terris man, and a Mother who was an allomancer but joined the village. He is on speaking terms with his family and they love him, but they do not support his choice of running off to find adventure. They always ask when he will come back and visit, hoping to convince him to stay. Has some siblings, but there is little known about them. Home Planet: Scadrial. Backstory: Comes from a Terris family on Scadrial. He felt unfulfilled with his life, and went off adventuring in the Roughs. He originally worked as a really good courier to pay for his travels. He then stopped a mugging in an ally way and became a bounty hunter. Taking on odd jobs, if they were morally right. He met a world hopper in a bar one day while he was enjoying a soda. They talked about travels, and he convinced the reluctant world hopper to take him to another world. He traveled around to many worlds. While on Roshar he got a pet ax hound, and got a parrot while on Nalthis. He eventually found his way to the Allyworld. Guild (can be unaffiliated): He is currently unaffiliated with any guild. Psyche (can be combined with personality if neccessary): Will try to save as much as possible, but will kill if necessary. He sees himself as more of a force for preservation rather than ruin. Personality: He is intensely loyal, and honorable. He is also intelligent and extremely curious, even if he is scatter brained at times. He is overall very upbeat; although he can go into a focused slow burning anger if he has seen an injustice, or unfairness. Appearance: [The artistically inclined are welcome to include an illustration of their character.] I am a terrible artist, so I tried to describe him the best I could. If anyone wants to make a drawing of him, feel free to do so because I’m not going to. Theme Song (optional): undecided as of yet. Fighting Style: Quick hit and run attacks, or long distance high velocity strikes and strafing. Edited April 12, 2022 by Emery the Windrunner Final draft.

mathiau he/him Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 Welcome to an other round of will mathiau get a scored sheet this time Here's Marie, she's probably a bit above the cap but I'd like to know by how much. Spoiler Name: Marie Lemoine Physical Characteristics: 25 years old. Tall from her father’s Terris and mother Rosharan origins, Makabaki skin colour (dark), yellow eyes with a purple circle around the iris (go to fully yellow if she doesn’t summon her sword for too long) Investiture: 1st oath Willshaper (spren: Polaris), A-Duralumin, Epic ability to create summon an ametrine weapon. The weapon basically functions as if it was made of steel except it’s sharp as obsidian. The weapon can be summoned either as a dagger or a longsword, summoning takes 10 heartbeats. It can’t be switched between dagger and sword without unsummoning it, if it somehow gets broken Marie cannot summon it again for one day. By flaring duralumin, Marie can become fully intangible for a fraction of a second (enough to negates exactly one hit, assuming she can time it right), similar to how the deep-ones can phase through stone. Doing so will exhaust all of her stormlight reserves, including the ones she hadn’t breathed in yet, and make her aluminium sword drop from her scabbard/hand If there are other use of duralumin powered cohesion, she doesn’t know about them (reason for being broken: her parents were murdered before her eyes by peoples who sook vengeance from her brother and his wife) Skills: Average longsword and shardblade combat, amateur dagger combat. Skilled stone carver Equipment: a few perfect perfect gemstones, an aluminium sword, and some vials of duralumin. An imperfect amethyst embedded in shardblade metal she wears as a pendant (used to be the gem that allowed NullBlade’s blade to be bounded). Own some stone carving tools but generally doesn't have them on herself. Weakness: Hot headed, almost a blood knight. Has an inferiority and superiority complex, the inferiority part is particularly strong toward NullBlade. Unable to return from Shadesmar without a perpendicularity (and is aware of how hard it would be to find one in the Alleyverse). Unable to teleport with Transportaion Family: Her parents are wordhopers originating from the Alleyverse who decided to settle in Invocation Earth’s France, his father was an atium Ferring and his mother a 4thoath Willshaper, both were killed shortly before she left to the Alleyverse. NullBlade is her brother. Home Planet: Reckoners’ other Earth (the one with Invocation instead of Calamity) Backstory: Marie was born on Invocation earth the same day it first rose into the sky. Growing up she always felt like she was lagging behind every other member of her family, especially her brother who was her mother’s squire at the time. She became her mother square at the age of twelve, when her brother stop being a squire and left to join an Epic team. The timing was a coincidence, -her parents just thought she was too young before that, and still had doubts at the time but Polaris insisted- but it didn’t feel like one. A few weeks after NullBlade left for the Alleyverse, the same group who had killed his team came to exert vengeance on him by killing her parent and attempting to kill her, she escaped them and fled to the only place where they would never find her, the Allyverse. Guild: STE Psyche and Personality: Brash. Alternates between blaming her brother and herself for the death of their parents Fighting Style: Will attempt to impede her enemies’ mobility with Cohesion to compensate her not-that-good skills with the sword. If she gets desperate, will launch a desperate assault in Bloodstance, using duralumin to negate the first big hit she’ll take.
