Agony growled deeply as he stalked down the path, moving by some primal instinct towards his target.

He came to a cave, dark but spacious. A toxic stench came from within, but it did not deter him.

As he neared the contents of the cave, he saw the predator: a large green reptile, with wicked claws and a long, flexible tail. Sleeping, its form came up to around half his height, though he already towered over most others.

As he neared, it whimpered in its sleep. Agony raised a hand, stretching it so it brush the scales of the creature. As it made contact, the creature started twitching violently.

”Do you yet see the Agony you inflict upon others? Let me show you.”

Agony smiled, and grew claws matching that of the reptile. The claws dug into the predators side, and began to tear it apart.

A figure spoke to Agony, cloaked in the darkness at the back of the cave. "That's some gruesome work."

Wrath can’t remember if he told you that Parasite faded or if he simply made you promise not to use it. Anyways, the Scribe’s presence allowed for regulation of the two other Notblades, so these disappear at some point from his death to now.

Anguish opened his eyes, smiling slightly. He took in his surroundings, frowning slightly as he extended a limb. He… he did not have skin, like he wished to. Instead, scales of stone surrounded his body, and spines extended along his arms. The spines reacted to his movement, growing and retracting in waves.

He stepped over to an animal, extending a hand to it. It twitched, but there was no other reaction. Disturbed, he noticed a trail of blood leading from the animal, and he slowly processed the situation.

His voice, gravely and deep, came unbidden. A cry, low but rising, of emotion.

He could feel it. Feel the pain, anguish of the prey, deep within himself, as if he were the animal, as he imagined the predator tearing the animal apart. Something shifted, and he stared down the small stream, across which the blood trail ended.

Rebus promised to prevent anyone from abusing Parisite - if it likewise becomes a being I think he’s obligated to kill it. 
You want a character for Anguish to interact with?

”Sequence’s wound was sustained about a thousand pages ago when she got into a duel with somebody who used to be her friend. Ivisyre was their name, and they’ve always been… tricky. Sequence won the duel, but was gravely injured by Ivisyre’s dark power. Her power as a Narrator was able to keep the darkness from spreading, but now that her mantle has been taken… It’s unsure whether there even is a cure. Unintelligible spent more than a thousand pages searching, and the location of this shadowy figure was all he could find. Perhaps Ivisyre themself could cure it, but they are not likely to cooperate.”

Ryna is quiet for a long moment after Willow finishes.

“A thousand pages…” she murmurs, more to herself than anyone else.

Her gaze drifts back to Unintelligible, then to Sequence, her expression softening. One eye glows faintly, as if reacting to the weight of it all.

“So she’s been holding it back all this time,” she says quietly. “Not healing it. Just… keeping it from spreading.”

Ryna hummed softly.

“She won't die.”

Agony was entirely enveloped in stone scales, and a section of flat steel covered his face. He did not seem to be aware of it.

He was around seven feet tall, and his hands, currently cruel claws, morphed back into his elongated stone hands. A yellow glow was visible from under the scales, increasing in intensity before fading.

“I can almost taste… your pain. Do you have pain?”

He gestured with a hand vaguely. “My growth, given to me by my Creator, is to remove pain.”

The being would be most similar to Madness out of the 3 Notblades (there are actually 6, but that’s besides the point. 3 of them are different/temporary and no longer exist. They were not reincarnations of Madness)

Agony could feel the pain: resentment, suffering, defeat, impotence, roiling anger, all stewed for years. And all directed at one person.

Agony sees through their eyes and feels the moments of most pain.

And if the “one person” ever used weapons against you…

That would be very good to mention.

Willow made a soft buzzing sound. “Though now that it is gone, I can’t help but feel… not very optimistic about her fate. What makes you so certain she will survive?”

 

Whether I want her to survive or not is such a dilemma  On one hand, I started this story line and personally did everything that led up to this and I feel like making her miraculously survive would be boring, but on the other, I love this character that I’ve spent 2,800 pages playing and don’t want to replace her!
