Through the Living Heir he/him Posted April 17, 2025 Posted April 17, 2025 On 4/16/2025 at 2:02 PM, Through The Living Glass said: hmph "Alright. Who were you thinking?" *sigh* I'm sure they'll come back Rebus smiled and waved. I wouldn’t be much of an antagonist if I wasn’t an obstacle, now would I? “I’m not sure, actually. I might bring Sagerian or Everet back, or maybe Capt’n Exposition.” I agree, but I hope he’s doing well. On 4/16/2025 at 2:57 PM, Bird Furious said: "It is a problem," Haly mumbled, tapping a pen against her mouth. "And I agree--- we'll have to wait. Which begs the question of what to do in the meantime. I have things with Symbol we could do--- though of course it'll require writing up some stuff, and due to my latent laziness, that might have to wait until evening after my writing hour. Or I suppose I could write up some things during that hour. Honestly, right now we need to kill time." She paused. "And recruit, actually. Recruiting is a good idea. We'll need more of a core group to be truly passionate about the Thread, beyond three people. I'll speak to two of my friends who, if not writers, are on par to become good ones. If we could manage to get them invested... and perhaps attract fringe roleplayers less interested in the meta... Sharders like Hawks, SpiritOfWrath, Echo, and even Sequence. Personally, I'd love to see more GMs around. I run over half of the active storylines, and drive nearly all of them. I worry what will happen when I inevitably leave if we can't attract more GMs. Cookie had promise in that area." "Agreed. I have what I need for now, though I'll probably have to come back to my Author's ghost works later." Rose could have hugged Cricket, but didn't want to in front of the Dreamsmith. @TwinStorm And Nemesis took his soul just as he had the dragon's. Now on to some real prey. After he made some enemies, of course. “I’d agree on the recruiting, and I’d be fine GMing things, though I have a similar time problem recently. One issue with more people is the swamping effect of all the posts, though maybe we can shift back to a bit more jump-in nonsense, or even a character nobody has ultimate Authority over.” “Excellent. I should find some minor characters so some of my deals will be onscreen, but other than that I believe we’re clear till the party.” The castle no longer had eyebrows, and the ghost seethed within its bead.

Rebus is talking about a hypothetical present (which, to make matters worse, is narrated in past tense) that would be the case if he’s taken different actions, so past tense might be completely wrong altogether.
